I wonder if anyone uses it. Also, what's highest page count before this option goes away?

I have accidentally used it over 50 times.

On purpose rarely.

But when I ran long threads about gpu mining show long photo how tos' I used it more.

It would take forever to load as the thread may have 125 photos on a build.

If it worked better I wold have used it more.  Even if you have a beast machine say a thread ripper with 256gb ram and a 4tb pcie ssd the down loads suck.  Could be my 200 speed internet made it slow but more likely bitcointalks server did no like showing 100 photos of one long page.

All you've to do is use the Preview button (it's close to the Post button) as you type along. It saves it. It's like a "Control S or Control Save on a PC. Once your comment disappears before you post it, just check your "draft". Draft link is beneath the Preview tab. If you don't look closely you're likely to miss it.
Draft page on Bitcointalk has its limitation and I agree with libert95 that I would like to use Notepad or some note tools to save my text rather than using the forum draft page.

Draft page - Pros & Cons
If you click Preview or Post, your post or your draft will be at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=drafts
CONs
  • Limited to only last 100 posts and drafts will be automatically deleted after 7 days
  • Unable to recover your deleted posts to where it initially posted
  • Almost unable to see where you post it (post ordinal number). Exception: You can only get which thread you post it, when you quote posts of others when reply them
  • Unable to know when you post it

I do write my responses in notes app mostly as I don't trust bitcointalk editor, sudden reload and your text gone. It pisses me off. Also, undo/redo functionality in text editors really handy.
Yes, that's enough to piss anyone off when we've our comments wiped off by sudden reload or refresh. However, such is preventable.
I'd rather use text editors which auto saves the stuff than doing preview thing, if it was automatic I would.

I used saveral times this feature just by mistake as I want to open last page and mistakenly clicked on "All" but its takes lot of times to load the page this why I doesn't like it. I wonder that ninjastic space opening more data but speed of ninjastic is fast while I mistakenly clicked on All some times and its took times to load the pages.
Besides loading it also start secure connection check everytime and maybe this is the reason it taking lot of time to load page.

one page? [1]

I wonder if anyone uses it.

Well, I used it once for a thread that had about ten pages, and it showed me the entire comment, but after that, I have not used it again because I don't like using it; I prefer going through the pages one after another, and I don't think anyone would prefer to use the "all" feather to read all the time. Like @Loyce has stated below, I also agree that the "All" Read feature is most common, and it can be preferably used to search for a particular comment or user in a thread of several pages. I only tried it once because I was checking to see if it was going to work.

Again, the "all" option would mean I'm more likely to miss a particular poster I may want to quote later as I may not remember on what page I read their post if I'm trying to recall. You know how you get to read through and then you suddenly remembered you want to react to what another user said in the midst of reading another user so as to yolk both comments in your post, right? That's it.

I usually quote right the moment I feel like I got to say something, copy it in notes app, read replies again and if similar situation comes quote and copy again, once all done copy from notes app back to bitcointalk.

I do write my responses in notes app mostly as I don't trust bitcointalk editor, sudden reload and your text gone. It pisses me off. Also, undo/redo functionality in text editors really handy.

The few times I tried using the "all" option, it took an unnecessary long time (by my estimation) to load coupled with the cloudflare verification I've to pass to prove I'm human to get through. That's unnecessary stress for me. I rather read page by page. However, I don't know if the cloudflare thing happens once a day if I used the "all" option or within certain hours after using it the first time in a day because there are a few time I've had to use it that it didn't pass me through that verification stress; just like now that I tried it several times within a few minutes.

Same like most users here, I don't use this option at all. It has some useful things, for example it's easier to find specific words in that topic. But in general, it's not important thing for me, it make reading topic isn't convenient at all. I only click it accidentally sometimes, especially when I browse forum on mobile.

I also don't make use of the function, but i think i can remember using it twice before which one was by accident as it wasn't intentional while the other was done by myself, what i observed was that it takes more time to load the "all" pages together in one single page than when you're checking on each page after the other, sometimes i go straight to the last page instead of having to to through each of the pages one after the other since i do a follow-up on such thread.

Another simpler way is to set a notification on a thread to keep getting notified of new replies or comments, once this is in place, you may just have to go directly to the intended page for your post through the notification link instead of looking around all through the entire thread pages.

When you click the all link, it will show the Cloudflare verification. If there are more than 12 pages or if the thread is a mega thread. Why go through that pain of getting verified from a third party verification. I always click on the last page and then go forward as it helps me to understand what we are discussing on that thread. For some it would be a lot of pages, for us it is just another day.

I use here when I want to search for something in the thread, the function of displaying All helps a lot
I click on All and then use CTRL + F in windows to search for the word
Alternatively, you can search in the page using the search box at the top which shows result from the entire thread. It works efficiently and from there one can locate the exact page the result was made.

No, I don't personally use that feature but it's a helpful one especially for those people who read most posts in a thread. Once or twice I unintentionally clicked on that button and unfortunately I have to face Cloudflare verification in order to proceed further. For someone like me that feature isn't useful at all because I always read posts from most of the pages as that is easy for me.

I wonder if anyone uses it.
I regularly use this feature to search for certain keywords and keyphrases on threads with no more than 25 pages, as opposed to reading all of the comments in this manner [referring to your question in the subject field].

It is also not easier to search, as you will have to wait and then click C+F5 and the number of pages that are loaded is limited.
Open https://ninjastic.space/ and use the search feature using topic ID, which you will get by copying the link to the topic and you will find a unique number in it, which is topic ID. available options at https://ninjastic.space/ are good and faster
Even though the above website is indeed better, it's still not that fast with regard to threads that contain a lot of pages [e.g. 100+] "if" you don't own a computer mouse with a free/infinite scrolling mode [you have to keep scrolling until the next batch of comments is loaded].

I can imagine that one of the main reasons this feature was put in place to allow printing of all the pages in a thread easily without having to go page by page.

I have never used it since I registered on the forum, but maybe other members have used it to read through very interesting threads.

I use here when I want to search for something in the thread, the function of displaying All helps a lot
I click on All and then use CTRL + F in windows to search for the word
But when browsing and posting I hardly use it, I prefer to browse the pages separated by numbers anyway

I've only mistakingly clicked the "all option" rather than intentional since I do not have any use for it. I either and click the main topic or the last page depending on my mood and understanding of the topic under discussion.

By clicking the "all option," it's as good as you are wasting your data as it's not any good unless you are searching for something and need to expose all the pages at once.

Show All is mainly useful to search data, or posts from a specific user.

I stand with Ukraine!
You click on Show all and you will have to solve captcha, that is an annoying issue.

Try this to avoid captcha with this hidden page https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=printpage;topic=topicID
or try a third party service from loyce.club "Show All" on long topics

So anyway, I applied as a merit source :)
I dont use it and if I accidentally click it, I revert back because it starts a painful cloudflare check and messes up the flow. Instead I follow my last reply to that thread and continue reading from there.

If the thread went way big and more than ten pages after my reply, I usually read the last few pages and most of the times the thread has gone way offtopic already so I would no longer reply it in.

No. What has happened to me, always from mobile, is that when I try to click on the number of the next page, I accidentally hit "all" and it starts to load, but between the fact that it takes a long time and that it was not what I wanted, in the end I never let it load. I go back and click, this time correctly, on the page I wanted to go to.

By the way, out of curiosity I tried for the first time in my life, this time from PC, letting it load and I don't like it. I prefer it separated by pages. Or I don't know if it's that I'm more used to the other option, but I see that the answers so far are along the same lines.

I can imagine that one of the main reasons this feature was put in place to allow printing of all the pages in a thread easily without having to go page by page.

Thank you, printing appears to me logically sound reason for this feature implementation.

It was probably implemented at the beginning, which was a time when there was still a lot of printing, people still printed emails, still bought the paper newspaper and either didn't have internet on their mobile or hardly used it at all, especially compared to today.
