A bit of both, mostly for investment... However, I don't invest money, lol. But I might plan to invest the money I got in my BTC account in some business. As a currency.. Hmmm, in my country it's pretty hard to use it as a currency. I think we got just a few companies or restaurants accepting Bitcoin in the whole country.
What do you mean invest by money? You mean depositing it in banks? If yes then don't, banks will let your money go to inflation and making you lose more rather than earning.

I am using bitcoin as both I am using it for my investment in the future and also I am using it to buy things which are easily available to me to buy online but as a lot of things are not available with bitcoin so I will have to convert them to fiat to buy them.
You are right but for me I am using it mainly as a investment thing at most of the time and rarely as a currency, for example when I have to pay my dad who is in another country, it is currency for me and when I have to invest in gambling sites its investment tool for me.

Well no doubt that today, most people treat this currency as an investment. We all know what is the reason of this. Like in your case.

Profits, earnings etc - these are the reasons why people tend to use this currency as an investment.

Mostly as investment, it is nice to have something not following stock market, and maybe can be hidden from some agency, if you know what I mean ....

At this moment, I'm investing my bitcoins but I know later on I will sell them on the right time that I can able to make profit. It is hard to make this as currency with a small amount, you need to gather more satoshis so you can save those charges and fees.
As said, for now i use the btc for investment and once i see a good rise in value and find it is reasonable i will exchange the btc to my currency and use for my daily expense.

Everyone is treating bitcoin as an investment to earn profits from it but that is actually bad for the future of bitcoins, as it should be used as a currency and should be spent regularly which will take its price to higher level in future.

For the time being, it is mainly an investment for most of us. As we are not paid salary with the bitcoin.
Whenever we buy any bitcoins with our fiat then actually it is an investment (assuming we are holding it for some time) for us and whenever we are using bitcoins to pay other people and to get paid with it then it is a currency for us (where bitcoins keep on moving).

I am happy with the poll striking first with both as used. I thought many of us just let it rot in our wallets but I guess I am wrong. Using it as a currency will affect some movement in the future.  Cheesy

Yep, I too, I voted for both, as an investment and a currency..Atleast most of us know now how we should use our bitcoin and not just keep it...Maybe new comers are still considering this as an investment and never care about using it as it is.

The primary purpose of user should be to use it as a currency then only it will make bitcoin as a stronger currency in future, but majority of users are treating it as an investment.

people using bitcoin for investment/trading purposes is a very important aspect of the market. it's not less or more than people using bitcoin as a currency tool. and beside that, people are free to choose whichever functionality of bitcoin they prefer to use. i personally use it as a currency tool, investment tool, and store of wealth tool. and i'm sure that a lot other people are doing exactly the same.

Yes most of us use it as a currency and actually we can also use it as both because you can invest something which is accepted by others and hence bitcoins act as a medium for it.

No it's not what you think. Most of people using it as an investment that's why we have a price like this today.

If most of people will use this as a currency, then the price will now be stable and at the same no more active trades will be happen.

Exactly price is stable only because there is no movement in market, majority of people are holding their coins for price rise, if people would use it as a currency then we would be seeing much higher price by now.
It's wrong, whether just because the people is holding their bitcoin will give a big impact for market or bitcoin price? I can say no because all of miners or users of bitcoin it's not yet feel the effect from halving. because a lot of bitcoin users is just holding their bitcoin it's will cause the decrease of the volume circulation.

I used it a currency and investment , if I want to had more then I use it first for the investment to make more money, then if I need it immediately i will exchange to Fiat and use it as a currency or buy online .

The best way in utilizing this situation now. Because the bitcoin has the advantage that is quite good and very useful to supplement our income per day. The investment is a good thing if we patiently wait against our desire at the moment wants to make an investment, if not then the currency is a good thing

The main reason I have bitcoin is for investment, but I also try to make it a habit of using it as currency from time to time. I only have a few at the moment which I plan to hold for a long period of time. Although it would be nice to see more merchants accepting bitcoin, it is still not my first option when it comes to payment.

I use bitcoin as currency and i never sell my bitcoin, but i prefer to use bitcoin when price is rising Grin

I use both because of my nature of transactions. I use it as an investment since I am playing gambling and I am into cloud mining and Crowdfunding investments. I use it as a currency because I use it to buy loads, pay my mobile bills, electric bills and pay for some items which my friends sold me on the facebook. Due to this I am both and I am a proud bitcoin users.

For now it's an investment, and I think this should be the case for everyone when you put your money in an "under development" project. If the investment is successful and btc gets worldwide adopted while being interactive with the real world, then that's when I'll use them as a currency.

I think you should also use it as a currency, as rotation of bitcoin is necessary for the bright future of bitcoin, if nobody will spend then it will definitely affect its price.
You are right ,but today there is not a big enough market to use it for your major needs. I would like to keep most of my coins until that day comes. On the other hand I like trading them for altcoins, so let's say this gives the opportunity to others to use my coins as a currency for a part of their needs ,helping the ecosystem grow bigger.
