today i've made an order for some gardening stuff from a website, when i filled in my shipment information i've found out they are now, since a month, accepting bitcoin as payment without any fee and they also add a free shipment!
It was a nice and easy transaction, props to them to be pioneer in this amazing technology.

I seldom use BTC to make payment for online purchases. There are not many online shops accepting Bitcoin as a payment method yet. And it has to depend on the payment amount, it doesn’t make sense to pay for a small amount such as $10 purchase due to the transaction fees.
It seems to me that the inability to buy goods directly with bitcoin is the biggest problem which can lead to death of bitcoin. I haven't bought anything with bitcoins. Is it more profitable to transfer bitcoins into Fiat currency and make purchases anywhere. The cost of small transactions is too high to make purchases with bitcoin.

It was one on the issue Satoshi saw the world needed it. But as far now it mainly use is trading for speculation by the newbie and holding by one who bought it years ago.

Of course it needs to be legalised FIRST somewhere. But after that a, will you buy something online and pay in BTC ?
Or it’s just a form of investment like gold was a decade ago ?

We are not there at the point where everything you want to get can be facilitated by bitcoin but is a gradual process after all, fiat didn't get there after 10 years. However, I have seen some services made available using bitcoin for example recharging your phone directly, card services which makes you buy anything so far there is Visa or MasterCard acceptance, and above all ability to convert into fiat easily which is what mattered to me from there, I can then get anything I want to get with less stress.

I have small amounts of bitcoin mostly for investment purpose because when I wanted to spend it online for buying something I have to pay too much fee on that

The BISTOX exchange - OWN WHAT YOU TRADE
I do not know the online stores in my country that would accept payment in bitcoins. It is very convenient for me to use a regular credit card or the usual electronic wallets. And my bitcoins are stored in a crypto wallet and slowly but surely grow, this option suits me more.

I personally rarely use online services to get things or anything, so I never use bitcoin for payment, but if I get the goods from online and then the seller receives bitcoin, then I will also use bitcoin as a means of payment, because transact using bitcoin very practical and fast.

Right now it's hard to spend bitcoin online, at least for small payments. I think most of us know the story of the developer who bought two pizzas back in 2010 using 10k bitcoin. Seven years is not that long, and those 10k BTC are now worth around 20M dollars. We actually don't have to go back all those years to see that using bitcoin for small payments is not a good idea, and that's why BTC right now is being used as an investment, and it's better to hold it than it is to spend it.

Legalizing bitcoin won't really change this right now, since the price will continue to represent the supply/demand ratio, but maybe it will help in terms of adoption, because more people will know about BTC, and will also trust it. Only after mass adoption happens the price will stabilize and we will be able to use it for "normal shopping".
There is still a long way to go until we get there, so right now I will continue to hold, and only use it for a payment, either online or with a crypto card, when I have to, and probably only for big payments.

I have a few times. Mostly I just hold though.

If you want to experience spending your Bitcoin into something worthwhile, I strongly recommend you buy a VPN service. Most of them have Bitcoin as an option for payment.

This is the right way how the coin should be used. As a digital currency that will be accepted worldwide but most probably we haven't reached the phased of the coin where it will be applied as that. Most people are still seeing it as an asset like stocks that can be traded to others. Also not much of businesses are catering bitcoin yet. Maybe by the time that the coin is used as what it is meant for prices will be at 6 digit dollars.

I haven't used it as a payment method yet. I haven't seen it yet where i buy online, but even if i there was the option of BTC i wouldn't do it. I think that right now BTC has more value as an asset in trading or just investing rather than using it as a transaction coin.

basically for me i used this as a payment online,
it's much more easy other that using Paypal and other stuff which is need a lot of time and effort to do it,
when i use something like this (paypal, okpay, etc) i need to find someone to fill it first afterwards spend it.
and it's reversible,in my country we need to find someone who has it and convert it to cash,
a lot of people get scammed in the process because it's reversible,
that is why i used Bitcoin for paying something, because it's very easy and i do not need to find someone to fill my order,
because we have a local exchanger.
and investment is my 2nd option for why i used this until now and for future.

No, I use bitcoin as an investment for future. I can't pay online for services/goods in my country yet. I hope this will change as soon as possible, because the interest in btc rises up everyday. At the moment i can only trade a lot to increase my btc portfolio.

In my country, there is no online shops or place that i usually go to buy things or buy services because i am more on like a simple lifestyle where i just spend money in clothes, gadget and other things and i can't see any place like online shops in my country that accept bitcoin so i don't use it as a money but as an investment as of now.

Talking BTC is like gold investment in the last decade is absolutely not true, as we know, gold is physical such as banknotes, while the BTC is completely different. I'd love to future digital currency (BTC) became a popular online payment method such as Visa now, in some cases, it would be helpful if Visa out of money Wink

Guard your privacy
Let’s make and example: say you buy some goods online paying CCs.
After some time, your local Gov say it’s not legal at all, and the vender who hasn’t change the CCs you gave him, ask to be paid again with some other form of payments because he can’t use them anymore.
What the hell you can yell - but because he knows who you are by your address, you are tracked and sooner or later you have to refund him.
