I seldom use the report button. Ideally, I would just make a comment on the topic and also inform the OP to move his/her topic to the right section.

That's fine, but what I focus on in my reports are mostly referral links, links to scam sites, scam/ponzi advertising, obvious lies (like people who come to the forum saying they can invest/trade/multiply your coins).
I also report threads in local languages that are outside of the local sections if they're written by newbies or jr. members because there's a high probability that the poster will not come back to read answers and move the thread.

Well, I seldomly use the report button because I usually visit Beginners and Help, D & T Discussion and its childboards, Bitcoin Discussion Section which I think is much more spam and unsubstantial post free.

In addition, I think it would be more appropriate to leave some message in the comment section of the report page to ease the work of the moderator in handling the reported posts. It can be providing some link of an article if the post was plagiarized in some sort, or maybe a longer explanation why the thread deserves to be locked (megathreads). Though, I can't see my report statistics due to low number of report  Cheesy.

I have few bad reports, but still accuracy is 100% so you don't have to worry too much about some bad reports. After all, it is even stated in the report dialog : "Do not worry about your accuracy too much; one accurate report is worth many inaccurate reports."
Yeah I know, I'm not worrying at all even if my accuracy fall down (but I admit that it will be quite sad if ever). Imbalanced judging is normal, we will inevitably come to that point sometimes Grin.

Nonetheless, I will continue reporting all the misconducts I see here. Though I'm not as active like the others, but at least I was able to help to clean our forum through my own little ways. It is the effort that counts, right? I'm already proud of what I'm doing.

I comment first asking op to move thread to appropriate section, then come back after 24 hrs delete my previous post, if post was moved to relevant section then ok otherwise i report it myself.
Oh yes! I'm also doing the same thing on such case. But when it comes to trolling, necroposting and inappropriate advertising; no warnings for him. I report it right away.

I usually report only spam and scam posts, and very occasionally report misposted threads. Newbies should definitely learn about reporting and do it too, the more reports a bad post gets, the faster it will get taken down, reducing the risk that people will get scammed. It's pretty cool that regardless of rank everyone can contribute to making this forum a better place. Of course if you have doubts if a post deserves to be reported or not, than you might want to not report it, but it's really easy to spot spam and scams.

I really don't care about the accuracy of the my reports and mostly I only inform op to do what needs to do like move topic to the right board or lock the topic if there is already thread that will only make it a duplicate thread. I already came across like there is a new thread but same topic as the old one then the op locked the thread and search for the old one.

Usually, I just report everything that is not right like illegal things in a post, referral links, spam posts, and even when the post is in the wrong section so that the moderator is aware of it.
Well, sometimes I'd like to help newbies posting referral link on their thread, I often remind them what is the forum rule and posting a referral link is strictly prohibited before I reporting them [even I know that my post perhaps got deleted later on]. In most cases, --I know that newbie doesn't even read the forum rule and I just want to help them to give warning before reporting to the moderator. Indeed, appreciate those who have a great work of reporting spam posts that helps the forum clean from spam. Once you have been caught and reported once, I am sure your entire post history will deserve to report and I have a friend related to that story.
I'll keep that in mind and to them, a warning for newbies since they are just started here in the forum probably didn't know all of the rules here but only for newbies.

it is also their responsibility to take time reading of rules here maybe for jr.member up there is no excuse. Didn't think about that but there are so many spammers and low-quality posters here, they will be reported soon.

I don't know if you feel this as well but I really feel good every time I report and maintaining a 100% accuracy at the same time. For me it represents that I've got a fair judgement as a person Cheesy.

It is actually a matter of a subjective nature, because each of us can make a mistake in reporting, just as one who makes a decision about what is good or bad can make a mistake. Therefore, even if we do not have 100% accuracy, it does not mean that we reported something on a bad basis.

Yeah, you don't really need to worry about it but I only have 1 bad report which ruined the 100 % accuracy. It just gives you satisfaction when you get a 100% accuracy  Grin so I'm not happy that getting a 1 bad report.

Thats really good to hear that you love to maintain 100% report accuracy and if i am not wrong then you get encouragement from all your successful reports. Most probably you are not the only one who have this kinda taste about report accuracy where you will easily get much more users like you.

Just  keep in mind by submitting reports you are helping forum moderators to take necessary steps and its not mandatory that everytime your judgement will get right. Sometime mods will not get agree with you but that doesn’t mean you did something wrong or you are a bad reporter.

Don't hesitate to press the report button whenever you think its necessary to draw mods attention on something.

Well, I can say that it was effective lol. Honestly, I very seldom reporting sh*tty posts these past couple of months maybe because of being busy. But this thread reminded me to be more active on reporting once again hehe. Reporting is the same as posting. It is difficult to maintain the rate of correct report at 100% but you can. Why I say it is the same as posting? If you think twice before you make a post that your post is necessary for the discusion (or in the other words, has it been answered by others), and apply it when you report a post. Think twice that whether your report reason is good, then you will have prob to see your rate staying at 100%.

Perhaps this should be bumped every couple of months -
1. To remind all members to use this report to mod function whenever they see an off topic, spam or nonsense post.

I always use the said button religiously, especially on cases wherein the thread is improperly posted on a board where the OP doesn't fit with the general rhythm of the said sub-forum. I still continue to give out my opinion and after submitting my reply, I always make sure that I will report the said post in order for it to get transferred over to the correct board where it will get the much needed attention for a particular topic. As for spams though, it's automatically reported by me whenever I have free time, and I'm currently standing @ 96% successful reports (not that it's important or anything.)

I think the biggest issue is that we are far too forgiving on serial spammers. I have had 50+ posts of some users deleted in the space of a day or two, and yet still they are back the very next day spamming more. There is a never-ending supply of spammers, and simply reporting their spam posts for deletion will never be enough. Although all our reporting helps to tidy things up in the short-term, we won't see any meaningful long-term improvements until we see some top down changes from the admins, namely frequent bans for bounty spammers and dedicated sub-board mods with the power to enforce this.

The admin raised the need for reporter badges in June of 2018, nearly one year ago, here: Seeking reporter badge images. By now, there is insignificant progress but who knows, you can keep contributing to the forum via your report buttons, and then someday if theymos actually release reporter badges, you might have yours due to all your good reports over time. I don't see theymos and community have interests in adding financial priveledges with such new bages, but reporter badges (if occur) should only be considered as a kind of honorable badge.

I do it when someone is already posted this kind of topic and then he/she posted it again. Also, I report it when it doesn't fit in the section that he/she posted at. We must post a thread that should fit in the section.

Not at all for I do not really see this helpful after using the report button for all we know that admin can never attend to this thousands of report that will take each day from different users.

However i do believe that this is very useful in the future where one could actually notice that his post was being reported and in that sense one could change the way he posts on this forum. There will be a notification  that sends the user of the the said reported post that will also serve as warning to not do it again or else it wil results to account suspension or banning and this is how I see report button in the future.

I don't use the report button for every situation. At first I normally comment on the thread informing the OP to move the thread to the right board and if the thread creator is a newbie I give directions on how to do so and when it's a less important thread and also if i was the first user to reply to the thread I suggest this to OP [Untick the box for less important moved topics] and after sometime if i check the thread and it has been moved I delete my reply (that's if I didn't contribute to the thread in question but when I do contribute, I edit my thread to remove my moving suggestion] although there are some post I don't hesitate to report to moderators to be moved the moment I see them especially those coming from the new sockpuppets. {I have reported many to be moved to reputation board and they have all been marked as good report].
