I have used bitcoin to buy services, given to voluntary organisations, and person to person trade. Enough to be able to feel, in addition to know objectively, that the thing is highly useful. After each trade, I have retopped my stash, and held.

Rarely (and mostly only for profit). I'm trying to gain a good amount of BTC first.

Sure, I USE my BTC -- as a store of value. Cheesy I do spend occasionally, when necessary. Smiley

What servers take bitcoin at this time I recall a few doing that but anyways that is cool
Only sometimes if I see something unique enough that I can get for Bitcoin otherwise a holder Smiley

Many companies accept bitcoins for servers.

Since were on that topic a bit are there any for SSD Cloud Serving
Similar to Digital Ocean it would be nice to have a few cloud servers paid in Bitcoin
No need for a paypal account and another place to use bitcoin it makes sense to me instead of having to reload a paypal account just send some bits and be happy Smiley

I constantly contact Digital Ocean about this, and they say that they have no plans at all to accept BTC.

Ah so someone else was trying
Got an e-mail from them a few days ago so sent off one to them as well maybe enough people using the CEO e-mail will get them to respond.

I've noticed that you've destroyed your DigitalOcean Droplet(s).

We're striving to provide the best cloud hosting experience for developers and would love for you to give us a shot! We've automatically applied a $5 credit to your account that will provide you with one free month of hosting on our 512MB droplet.

Because we're a bunch of perfectionists, we're always looking to improve our cloud hosting platform. Any feedback that you're willing to provide would be much appreciated!

Feel free to shoot me an email directly at [email protected] with your comments.

Thank you so much,

Ben Uretsky
Co-Founder & CEO

I emailed them again with a lot more info. Lets see what they reply.

Cool stuff the day I can use Digital Ocean to pay for my cloudhosting will be a great day ^_^
Cheers

I mostly use it to buy precious foodstuffs I am in so desperate need of having, which is....very much so.

I just wish I had more of it, to secure a future for myself. I want the price to go down so I can just buy it up and put it in a huge money bin and roll in it like Uncle Scrooge.

Seriously, I need fake money to make ends meet what is the world coming to?

Whenever I get the chance, I always choose spending btc over fiat. It helps the businesses that accept btc grow. Beginning of the year when TigerDirect just started accepting btc, I bought a bunch of mining equipment with it. The next evolution and what I'd like to see next, is that these types of businesses hold the btc rather than use a payment processor like Coinbase or Bitpay to convert the btc to cash instantly.

I use BTC on CryptoThrift.com, a cool site

I used cryptothrift a couple weeks ago, it was one of the worst online buying experiences I have ever had. It had nothing to do with CryptoThrift, the site worked just fine, but the seller was a complete moron. Just after I sent the payment I got an email like this:
Quote
Dude I asked you to pay through paypal.
Now you have wasted the bitcoins you spent.
You're fucking retarded. Those bitcoins are lost now. If you had just told me before you bought that you were going to pay with bitcoins...

But later he figured out how to use bitcoins and it turned out ok.

Lol, he set it up on a ebay-like site that used bitcoin, and he didnt know how to use bitcoins. Cheesy

I would love to eventually be paid in bitcoins and spend bitcoins for all my expenses. Anyway - I should probably diversify anyway in case of some sort of disaster, but using bitcoin exclusively from day to day would be great. It would be nice to get rid of those banks, or at least not depend on them so much.
