Mostly buying and hodling, at the moment I invested my BTC in just-dice.

Occasionally buying some food with BTC, just because it's nice to use them for what they were intended for, I try to replenish the spent BTC tho, balance needs to go up only Cheesy
It's nice to support the sellers on this forum. Smiley Then again you dont wanna spend something that could be valued 10x in a year. Smiley

There are other markets, you know. Shop around or pay the price.

There are other markets. But none of them even come close to SR 2.0. Earlier there was BMR, but they closed down. Currently more than 10,000 items are listed in SR 2.0, and the number of active vendors number in the hundreds. Compare this to the other markets, most of which have less than 100 items and at the max 4 or 5 active vendors.

How do they get the products to the buyers without the feds knowing? I mean FED EX, DHL, UPS ETC.. They all go through TSA for inspections. Unless someone pays one of the TSA agents under the table.. LAX IS HUGE FOR UNDER THE TABLE PAY WORK! Wink

How can the Feds seize them? Every single day millions of courier packages are sent across the countries. And it not wise to forcibly open and inspect each one of them. The customs have sniffer dogs and x-ray scans, but the drug dealers are even more intelligent. Remember that we are talking about extremely small amounts of stuff, like 20g or 30g.

right, drug dealer is more intelligent than a sniffer dog Cheesy

Well I used to use them for silk road  Shocked

Lately I have heard that a lot of scams are going on in Silk Road 2.0. Hackers are controlling a lot of vendor accounts, having excellent feedback. They are conning the unsuspecting buyer by not shipping the items. These problems surfaced after the admins removed the escrow, and replaced it with multi-signature wallets.

Still waiting for a single person on craigslist or bitcoinclassifieds.net to purchase any one of my hundreds of items for sale that I accept BTC for.

Bitcoins are for holding and speculation not for spending. If you spend them you're doing it wrong.

I respectfully disagree. I think bitcoins are for all three. Spend and rebuy immediately. Cold storage savings is by proxy longer term speculation. I think people that are holding losses in BTC are reluctant to spend to avoid taking a loss. People sitting on a gain are reluctant to spend due to the capital gain (in the US) that must be realized. I try to buy everything other than perishable grocery items, gasoline, booze, and tobacco (I know what else is there right?) with BTC. Show the merchants that we spend, then buy back some more BTC to replace that which was spent.

is there some product u'd like to buy but u CAN'T with BTC. if u can't find it on http://www.bspend.com/ let me know and i'll try to find some market that accepts BTC and has it, and write a spider that crawls that market and adds it to Bspend database. For example, I noticed in google analytics someone searching for "sony experia" and it's not covered (by the 20+ markets we crawl). BUT, http://www.ipmart.com is about to start accepting BTC and they have for example "sony experia" so I'm gonna add stuff from that market to Bspend soon. I think we're not far from the point when pretty much anything will be covered by BTC! ^^

Spend if you like, but make sure to act in your own interest. "The common good" is food for the beast.
