Social media has got influence on the growth of bitcoin as well other digital currencies to some extent. In specific more ico programs gets promoted through social media, but the same is not possible for bitcoin. Because through social media lots of scams have been getting promoted making people get into trap gaining a negative reputation to bitcoin as well the virtual currency that are being generated.

Yes, social media greatly affects the growth of Bitcoin’s price. The community is the driving force behind Bitcoin. The higher the number of people accepting Bitcoin, the higher its price will be. People can read articles, hear the news, and see advertisements in social media because discussions and announcements take place in it. It plays an important role in getting out the information to the public.

Exactly because it's a form of advertisement. As you can see, ICOs are even using social media and even this forum to spread the good words of what their ICOs bring. If you don't have any advertisement, then you can never spread it properly.

Yes. All currencies are basically a reflection on a communities trust in being able to exchange goods/services for a form of currency. Therefore social interactions and positive commentary on usage of cryptocurrencies does influence uptake and due to the restricted nature of most coins value increases

Does Social Media Influence bitcoin growth?

Social media plays a huge role in everyone's lives so I guess that bitcoin is not an exception. There is of course the role of raising awareness, without that, bitcoin would never get the chance to become mainstream. This is an obvious reason of course, but I think there is more to it, than just raising awareness. Bitcoin is still very strange for most people, not one really knows how it will evolve, so social media can take advantage of that. We all know how FUD can determine what happens to bitcoin in the short term, and there is no better vehicle for FUD than social media.

Does Social Media Influence bitcoin growth?

I think with the social media, there will be a two possibilities that an individual might think. I remember someone selling bitcoin through his facebook account, only few people know bitcoin that time so a lot of the are asking what is it. He told them that it is a digital currency and in time it will be having a great price that can give them a double, triple of their own capital. But a lot of them are laughing at the guy saying that it is a scam and it might be a new scheme that scammers do to victimize people. I just laughed seeing this, it is not that about that poor guy but about the people who are leaving comments that is depending on the first people who said it is a scam. So that is the first one, negative. I've posted some links there about bitcoin and the blockchain technology, people then stop leaving bad comments there and some of them found bitcoin interesting, that is the second possibility, positive.

Don't let others control your BTC -> self custody

Bitcurrency is social media for about 50%. A coin can stand or fall with it's community behind it.
Take Bitcoin for example, it's the most popular coins, because... it's the most popular one... Not because of it's great advantagous like great transaction rates or fixed nodes or anything like that.

Bitcoin was the first one and many people don't know about the existence of other cryptocurrencies. In their mind it's either money and bitcoin or real currency and electronic currency. That's how they see it, period. The limited understanding of cryptocurrencies makes it all about that one little word because it's all that pushes through the media babble. And this word isn't cryptocurrency or ethereum or litecoin, it's bitcoin. That's why roger is riding on the name calling his little altcoin bitcoin cash, because he knows the word is so well recognized and circulates in the media.

Social Media has a high influence on new user compared to already the people who are already using Bitcoin. For example, if we talk about a news channel which circulates regular new about Bitcoin due to its rising price; it creates an impact over the people to try and invest in Bitcoin at least once. Everyone like to gamble their money in some way or other in small amount or big amount does't matter but at some point users are like I should try at least once. At this point social media gets successful creating an impact over people to use crypto currency.
I truly believe the power of social media to one's people life, because social media are now the major medium of getting along with people and people also found social media fun doing with that's why social media also influencing mostly in the growth of bitcoin. Social media is a simplest way to advertise bitcoin and attract investors and traders.
