Actually it does affect since there are cryptocurrency projects offer betting on fifa world cup. I believe astorgame was one of the project who develop platform in sports betting, casino and other betting. I do not know also if the platform is ready but to think of it world cup football could affect cryptocurrency because some platforms are eyeing on this to include on their platforms.

FIFA World Cup 2018 is doesn't matter to effect of any crypto market. If ever there is, I know it's good for investors . The effects of that big events is more determined and helps to raise the demand as well as the price of cryptos.

I think I have saw some news before regarding the hotels in Russia that are allowing their customers who are travelling to Russia to watch the world cup to pay for their booking of rooms via bitcoin, but I don't think this will trigger any huge effect on the crypto-currencies trading market.

i agree to some comments here that yes it has effect on bitcoins and alternative coins in general as there are some platforms and start ups for online betting using bitcoins or altcoins existed, for example wagerr platform in waves blockchain

Bc football don't have anything related to crypto or bitcoin value. Almost countries accept gamble, betting are legal. Only some countries don't accept it but people still can bet in the darkness without crypto.
And don't have any big name accept crypto as payment option

World Cup football does not affect the price of crypto
because until now i have not seen a crypto banner in the game
such as bitcoin banners or bitcoin cash or other crypto as advertisements

I don't think the world cup 2018 will affect the bitcoin. The world cup 2018 allows to people to buy their tickets by using bitcoins. and there are people who is trying to gamble their bitcoins to choose who will gonna win this game. It's like they are also promoting bitcoins by purchasing the tickets.

I think it affect especially gambling system in cryptocurrency which the world cup is a great advertising strategy to gain more investors in bitcoin so the value will increase.

I thought that it will have a positive impact on bitcoins value but rather what I am expecting is the opposite. The good news brought about by the acceptance of bitcoin by the world cup football 2018 is being stomped by the negative news. The investigations done on the 4 big exchanges and the hacking of a big exchange have more power than the football case. I guess we will just wait and see and hope for bitcoin to recover.

I don't see why the world cup would transfer any value to bitcoin, maybe a few extra btc bets here and there but that's about it.

There is no correlation between FIFA and bitcoin maybe some ICO promote FIFA to boost their sales. But FIFA will never affect the bitcoin

Newbies should take as a rule of thumb to never tie any news to Bitcoin's price, unless those news involve Bitcoin directly, like if some important country changes its legal status. Theoretically, some news like signs of upcoming worldwide economic collapse or a big war could affect prices, but we haven't seen anything that big yet, since Bitcoin created after the last global economic crisis.

I think that football cup will not affect the price of bitcoin or any other crypto coin. I do not see any connection for this. But probably if there are investors whose bet are crypto coin.
