Dogecoin initially was created as a joke.
I personally wouldn't touch this altcoin as it has zero use case, and I don't want to hold something that can literally go to zero.
In my personal opinion even if you want to trade something, it should be something that is worth holding for a good while, because that way if you missed exit out of that trade with profit, or it just went down after you bought, if you don't have problem with holding something that could be worth a good amount sometime in the future, you can just hold it and wait for it to increase in price an give you some profit instead of panic selling it and lose some percentage because you bought something not knowing anything about it.

Obviously, its two different coin, Bitcoin is the most recognized, good thing about Doge is that it is open source like Bitcoin as well. Perhaps Doge is widely used as micro payments because it is cheap and super fast. And now that it is being pump by a lot of pumping groups, many thinks that it can compete with Bitcoin but it is not.

The total marketcap of altcoins has been increased recently due to the bull market and there is no need to rush buy Doge or another altcoin for smart traders.
