However, the people apparently do not feel safe anywhere in Donetsk, after Monday’s shooting at the city’s railway station, away from the airport area battleground. At least one woman was killed in the incident and two more civilians injured, including an 8-year-old boy.
Alas there is desperation in the air. I see it on the Russian forums as well, where people start questioning louder and louder, why Putin does not do anything. His rating went up after Crimea was saved. It can plummet soon if the slaughtering of Russians in the South-Eastern territories continues and Russia does not intervene.
Here is one reader comment from the article above that captures this sentiment:
I'm on the side of those who do not want more bloodshed than possible. I cannot do anything now; nor can you or anyone else. Putin handed his own people over to certain death, as did Yeltsin with Serbia. That time I DID try to do something but it was all for naught as the Serb ally Russia stood by and did NOTHING! Stop being deceived by kings and princes beholden to gold.

Ukraine is Russian clay. Putin must be weak for not decisively protecting his interests and people there. The EU/US run amok in Ukraine and Putin sits on his hands. The deathtoll is only rising.
On the other hand there are a few, who still harbour hope, though their number is dwindling:
Whilst a lot of people want Putin to intervene, he has to be careful not to fall into trap laid by the US/UK governments. We all know that this work is not the work of Ukranian soldiers but that of the US/UK mercenaries. The EU and UN have sat back and watched, and applauding as to what US/UK are doing. Putin is playing a very careful, political game at the moment, and whilst he has the upper hand, as sad as it is, he will triumph.

Putin wins a bit more with every atrocity the Ukrainians and Americans commit. His ratings are soaring.
Once that begins to turn around, he'll find something very clever to do that won't involve invading Ukraine.
Th e U.S. WANTS Russia to invade. They are upset that they lost the Black Sea resources.
