Bad move, I'd say. Akhmetov is the richest man in Ukraine, worth some $16 billion. He can easily import mercenaries from all across the globe and destroy the Donetsk People's Army.

Hmm... that aspect should be considered as well.

Meanwhile, Akhmetov is reportedly going ballistic over the Donetsk People's Republic's move to nationalize the heavy industries. I am OK with the proposal, as the profits will go to workers instead of the corrupt oligarch.

Nationalization?  Oh my god! What is this , back to '45 ?

No, to 1917.

Depends from country to country I guess Smiley.

Nationalization... Almost century passed since invention of this procedure, but it still useful against oligarchs. Smiley

The problem is , who decides who is the oligarchs
It's very simple... If somebody earns money on your territory and uses this money against you through paying the mercenaries, then you have to bring the situation to your control.  Smiley

Yeah , this is the main idea , and it's the good one.
But starting this "purge" is like opening the pandora box.
In the end oligarchs will we all the people who don't shout "sieg heil" in the morning or oppose the "country".

Reminds me when the communist party decided that you're an oppressor a "chiabur" for having two cows while your neighbor who was an alcoholic and wasn't working more than 1 hour a day had none

They are only following the law. "The powerful controls the weak." That is the real law of the land.

Yeah , that is in theory , but sometimes the weak ones control the others barbecue the strong ones are plain stupid.

His taxes currently are being used by Kiev for paying mercenaries, so it would be unsafe to keep status quo if you wish to win this game. Sometimes you have to make move even if it looks bad. Smiley

Akhmetov is the richest man in Ukraine, worth some $16 billion.
That's not quite right, because this approximation include his shares and other assets. The most of his property located here. So in case of confiscation this approximation will drop significantly due to losing control on assets and dropping shares value.

It's better to perform acts of revenge against US embassy. Anyway, Ukraine is not Yugoslavia, NATO won't be able to do anything here without fatal risks for own existance.

it comes to a point where food and clothing and security is more important than football, who cares about games if u cant even cross the street without getting a bullet from US/NATO/KIEV/MOSCOW backed soldier.

Fixed the amount of soldiers Smiley.

eventually you right, soon there will be revenge and western backed Ukraine will see also massacres

That's what NATO's been waiting for - the acts of revenge that can suddenly get broadcast in Western media, touted as acts of aggression, excusing NATO invasion. For earlier examples, see Yugoslavia.

According to the local media here, almost nothing happened in Ukraine this past month. Ukraine? Everything's fine and peaceful there...
