Sorry to tell you but I am sure this is not 100% true. I cracked wallet from 2014, file size was 112kB, there was 35 transactions and it worked. So we really can't be sure about any wallet.

Can you share the password so we would know what type of passwords to look for?

Why would anyone sell a wallet with a huge balance for a low value, ask yourself an obvious question like that, answer, they wouldnt.

The wallet that circulates on internet with 362BTC and file size ~ 700 - 770KB it's fake:

Code:
Balance = 362.00495819 BTC. (Main Bitcoin Address: 1Jkn9wg1WbJdASNBPtQqdmm7wtrcSiATbf). (With recent outgoing transaction. UNDER WATCH.)

, the wallet is forged.

Tried to unlock the wallet with the cracked hash password and obviously received the error:
Code:
"some keys decrypt but not all. Your wallet may be corrupt"

Ok, tried to get it through pywallet and after the dump of privkey, discovered the sec of the address:
Code:
1Jkn9wg1WbJdASNBPtQqdmm7wtrcSiATbf
which of course after was imported in a electrum wallet, nothing, empty.

So the moral of the story is this, it was a fun experience, but the thing is that whenever you receive/find by accident or buy a wallet.dat file and the size is less < 500KB, not always the case and not to mentions recent transactions sent to a "supposedly" lost wallet [...] anyway, an old wallet with many transactions must have at least 1MB of data size, if it's otherwise then probably you got scammed or fooled.

A general question, what is the best way to proceed without getting scammed, when person A has the password and person B has the wallet file ? Any suggestions?

Hello. 178k usd ? 0x4DE23f3f0Fb3318287378AdbdE030cf61714b2f3 BLOCK like there was a seed phrase I have such a there like the wallet itself in the block can’t do anything with it. If this is not this one, write me in a personal or telegram. Third-party scripts can be bypassed with fresh contracts. https://t.me/Invisibl777

A general question, what is the best way to proceed without getting scammed, when person A has the password and person B has the wallet file ? Any suggestions?

I think this could be a good way:
Person A connects via TeamViewer on person B's computer with Bitcoin Core open.
He then sends X BTC to an address of his, enters the password (in visible mode) and OK.
If the password is correct, the transaction should be done.

Greetings.

EDIT: For added security, the first password entered does not have to be the real one, nor the second, nor the third... maybe the fifth.

EDIT: IMPROVED METHOD 2

Person A connects via TeamViewer on person B's computer with Bitcoin Core open.
He then sends X BTC to an address of his own and the rest to an address of person B, enters the password (IN HIDDEN MODE) and OK.
