If you were living in 2010 then yes, it would work. But, for now in 2019 and if you are waiting for another 5 years without having any income is a terrible idea. You can't just put all your money and wait for the miracle until next 10 years, you gonna missing some great opportunities.

No doubt. The market of this days are different to the early bitcoin market but the old strategy of long term holding is still applicable for this current market and the reason why most people that use the holding strategy make losses was because they don't enter the market at the right time.
