I think I will vote for this.  If they will forced education or jobs to its people, why not? I will not complain at all. But in terms of vaccination, an individual can always say no to this as it is his own body, he has the rights on it. But whatever happens, it will be his responsibility to take care of his body.

Compulsory just means they might get fined or banned from public places (especially children in school) if they don't get vaccinated.  ( I don't know know how exactly they are handling it in Samoa, but they obviously aren't going door to door holding down anyone who tries to refuse, I think most likely they are just saying 'NEW RULE, EVERYBODY HAS TO GET VACCINATED, THERE'S A MEASELS OUTBREAK!).  In most US states, by law if you want to send your child to public school you gotta prove they've had all the required vaccinations.  That's compulsory vaccination.  (there are medical exemptions obviously)

What makes the article interesting isn't that that Samoa is making the measles vaccine compulsory during a major measles outbreak, that's just common sense and happens all over the world.  It's the fact that they are taking action against people spreading anti vax propaganda and discouraging people from getting vaccinated.

This whole situation has a lot more meaning in the context of recent events now doesn't it? Anyone else notice how the frothing 2 minutes of hate style attacks on "anti-vaxers" (I.E. anyone who says anything but the official and popular consensus on vaccinations of any kind) was consistently increasing before these recent events? It is almost like some people knew this was coming, isn't it?

What does your irrelevant rambling have to do with the fact that bodily autonomy is arguably the most essential of rights. Pharmaceutical companies have been killing people by the millions for profit for years with all kinds of dangerous drugs, but apparently when vaccines are involved all of their motives and results magically are perfect some how. if you wanna been a fool and not vaccinate yourself. do these things
1. independantly research if the vaccine is actually affective and what the % of risk/benefit it has. dont take a 2 cases out of thousands as some reason to go on a hate campaign. actually understand that a case of 2 deaths due to a bad batch is not even 1% of the thousand or so given that year

2. if you still fear the under 1% risk. then try to segregate yourself from the risk by not associating yourself in group activities. not only to avoid yourself from getting infected but also to avoid you infecting others.

3. if yo dont want to segregate yor self to prevent infection then atleast do not be a complete ass and spread it. if you become sick stay home. dont be an ass who spreads it around like its their moral right o do so

4. if your still an ass then expect consequences


just because you as an adult feel that you have a strong chance of surviving an infection naturally. does not mean the young and elderly around you are just as strong. atleast have some respect for others

so again do the math if 34% had the jab thats 66% that did not. so 2 years ago 66% percent of babies..

it does not mean every single of all 200k samoans got vaccinated in a couple month period from november 2019-now
it means only a few thousands.. you know the eligible ones.. you know the ones not already vaccinated
meaning the numbers are lower.. very very low compared to your fictional belief that it was a every door knocked down and all 200k forced vaccinated in 2 month


wake up and smell the maths.

I'm expecting this to happen in my country soon, except it'll be due to polio. Which I think most can agree is FAR worse than measles. Personally, I'd rather keep my limbs functional.

It amazes me with all of the history of pharmaceutical companies making toxic and harmful drugs and being sued for it later, some how if they are injected they suddenly have a stunning track record in your minds. There is profit motive here, and it is extensive and not necessarily in the interest of your health because vaccinations are a thing. I don't know what else to tell you if you don't think state mandated compulsory injections aren't a dangerous precedent or even legal for that matter.

people do not get yearly vaccinations every year for measles.

it is stats of 75% of babies vaccinated at 2017 vs 34% in 2018 due to the antivaxxers with their false info propaganda
so in a population of ~200k =~5k babies born a year.
this means ~1.25k were not vaccinated in 2017 and 3.3k in 2018 were not vaccinated

that means it was not a door knock of 200k peoples homes but probably 5k getting vaccinated that previously refused last couple years
and in many cases the number was lower as it was only those actually atrisk-actually sick

so give up your ploy of nazi invasion of every household where people were threatened with vaccines under threat of being shot.

It was because of this reason many are not going after vaccanition. Why forced vaccanition only ?why not forcefully providing education and jobs ? It definatly wont benefit pharmaceutical and other big powers interest.

It went from around 30% to 90% in what, a matter of days? A week? How much closer to "everyone" do we need to get over 90% for it to qualify?

Would you be ok if they said "There's a serious measles out break right now.  We are declaring a state of emergency.  All businesses are closed and everyone should stay in their homes for the next 2 days.  If you haven't received the MMR vaccine you should put a red flag on your door and we will send someone to administer it for free."

My opinion is vaccinations should not be compulsory. This is compulsory vaccination no matter how much you want to imagine the bad thoughts away. People should have a right to choose what goes into their bodies. Bodily autonomy is about as critical of a right as anyone has. The rest of the debate is irrelevant to this fact.

I think you're opinion on what they should've done is very relevant to your opinion that they shouldn't have done what they did.
