What kind of compensation is being offered to Batch One buyers for this fiasco, because this is totally unfair.
This coming from a guy who's negative Trust score almost matches his activity number?
Comical.

I still don't have confirmation from Barntech that my payment is received and there are two boards reserved for me (maybe because i'm a latecomer so understandably everyone else must be sorted first) so if I have missed out (and only if) then I would definitely like two of those boards @ 1.6BTC x 440USD ea... That is less than I paid Barntech.
Maybe barntech doesn't check on the weeked but they've got a bunch on thier plate for now and you should expect a reresponse. Barntechs been prompt with thier responces.
Confirming that me and bobsag3 are in a deal where i sell one 8 chip drillbit board for 1.6BTC at 440USD per BTC exchange rate

I've got 8 boards, a thumb, and a double scroll I'd love to get back face value. Anyone interested?  Tongue

Edit: I don't suppose bobsag3 wants 8 more boards?

I don't think your going to get anywhere near face value for a product you don't trust in. I won't buy it for that at least [from you].

BTW bobsag3 is involved in the sale of these boards so I could only assume he's getting a few on completion of this  group buy as compensation.

A product I don't trust in? Really? Let's leave the personal attacks out of this.
It feels like the first burp that your trying to sell. Thier post only expects a week extra. I take that as distaste. If you wanted other.options barntech would.probably return your money without bargening to expect more.

Unfortunately this thread had been hijacked by several people that only read a few world from your post and run off with a different interpretation and start spamming personal attacks. I have like 5 people on my ignore list, works for me.

Hmm, I ordered a BFL Jalapeno back on July 1st and they just shipped up to May 24th. I guess it will be a race on if I get it or the Drillbit first. Either way, it will be a big improvement from the 11 Eruptors I have.

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I think it's best if we leave the decision making to Barntech and co.

With all nods to good intentions, for them to engage misc of us in a multi-step discussion and decision-making process about a nominal quantity of details... is only going to add further delay.

To a process where they are really in a way better position to know all the parameters, and to likewise not really have the time at this point to explain it all to us whilst at the same time rushing around, getting all the final-stage necessities in place.

As far as I'm concerned, provided they can get shipping underway and confirmed (at least for Batch 1, which conveniently includes me) at some point during the coming week, then the less delays in the meantime, the better.

How much of a set back are we expected to have. I'd like to hope there's several more places to get this done since you've got all diagrams and coding done.

The one I keep finding when I google is this http://www.pentalogix.com/pcb-assembly-services-p-696.html but they are in the U.S and your chips I presume are in china.

I'd just rather had it done in the U.S so at least you've got the Better business  to scream at, if not louder at, than you may be right now offline.

Get some quotes and get back to us please.

Just to add +1 thanks for your full disclosure. I guess getting a product late in the world of Bitcoin is more frustrating and anger-making because of the ever-increasing difficulty. I've been a customer of companies that behave like this, at one point I felt like I was acting as their QA department.

I'm waiting for a Thumb. For me, a Thumb is the greatest thing that may ever happen here. I have 63 BE's flashing happily away day in and day out, 1 7970 running scrypt pointed at hashc... so I can get the BTC and the heat. Last winter in NE 5 7970's alone heated the home comfortably (helps to be single when establishing what's comfortable both temperature and sound level wise). I expect I'll fire up another as temperatures dictate. The thought that one day even I may have to pay for heat without generating a bitcoin is bothersome.
Now my vision is only of my Thumb, and my sister farm of 63 Thumbs. I am a would be will be tabletop mega farmer and a production delay will not change that, especially when it has been made for the reasons identified.  I know I'll appreciate it when the postman rings. (I work in Quality Assurance)

Hey guys.

We have more delays. It breaks my heart to tell you this, and it just straight up breaks my heart that it's happening. Please know, I am just as excited about this project and eager to get these miners as you guys, and just as disappointed that they are not yet ready. The last weeks of delays have been absolutely killing me.
...

We ARE almost there guys, though i can imagine its feeling like an eternity right now. Trust me, it is for me too.

Barntech

Hey, Barntech, relax - you can not did a mistake, if you never tried to do something Smiley

I have friends in the company, who are doing R&D for TV hardware. Hardware production is the road with well-masked rakes on it. So, it is better to discover f*ckup before you shipped the boards, rather we discover it a month after we run them Smiley

So, I`ll definitely wait for shipping, no problems.

Well its another small set back but i think Barntech and the others have been informing us much better then any other in most cases.
So respect to all involved including bobsag3 for buying of a unhappy customer.
Allthough i hate not having it hashing here allready, will wait till it can hopefully soon.

Im not *unhappy* as such, just a bit jaded. Not really sure of the wording.

Well, sad news but such is this game. Thanks for letting us know. Regarding that company:

I'd love the email address and company's name you are dealing with in China when the boards have left their hands. They should liable for lying like that to you (us) Barntech (and I realize next to nothing can be done to them except with our wallets). They basically cost us 30% or so and cummulatively (due to difficulty rise) from their incompetance.

Again, when the boards have shipped, there should be an open post somewhere here with the companies name, people there involved, desc. Of problem, etc. That may help others out.

And no one should use them again. They should be blacklisted on this forum so they don't F others.

Bitcoin is disruptive, let's follow in that tradition, openly.

Here's hoping,
IAS

I agree with IAS.

Pretty significant setback and they should be held responsible....   Cry

I know this is the internetz and I shouldn't let things get to me but damn, that whole BFL comparison is just total BS.

Having dealt with BFL (unfortunately) and having them steal 500 usd from me, I can whole heartedly say that this GB and its operators have been totally upfront, pleasant to deal with and fair.

If BFL was anything like Barntech et al, everyone would have had their miners a long time ago, OR correctly received a refund as requested.  If I had kept my order for a jalapeno (7gh) that I put through in July, I would still be waiting today.

I totally reject the comparison as its unfair and just plain mean towards this group buy.

Shame on you Erk. Have some respect. And while you are at it, have a look at this thread and see how open and honest Barn has been with everyone.

Scam-Busting PSA: Beware of Black Arrow Software
...The cause for the latest delay is that we recently discovered that said third party had ordered largely substandard inappropriate substitute parts for our boards, not the ones we specified. We are lucky we found this out when we did. Going ahead with the manufacture with the wrong parts would have caused all sorts on unknown instabilities on the boards. People may well have received them sooner, but there would be a  large chance they would not work properly, not get decent hashrates, and perhaps not work at all, or break soon after being plugged in. Dealing with this problem after the boards had been made would have been a nightmare.
...
Barntech
I feel your pain, and think you've done absolutely the right thing, both in making sure the parts ship to spec, and clearly communicating the delay. The insight into the production process is one of the most intriguing parts of the scene, watching how the process changes and evolves for each gen iteration. Can you offer an insight into which part in question was affected, for those of us who are following development with curiosity?

Good luck getting them out.
