Can anyone tell me the difference between the green and black text in the batch one list of orders?

Green means that the buyer paid for the board and shipping all in full

black means payments are not fully paid

What I was meaning in a round about way is:

We (I) just want updates on the boards. The PSU debate has rolled on enough. Everytime I see a new post in this thread I eagerly anticipate updates, but it's just PSU talk Sad
Same, the lack of basic progress information is frustrating, I am not interested in PSU or case talk, I will sort those issues out once I have a board to use.

Guys - Changing the voltage is not a big deal. If it was, Barntech would have said so. He didn't, he got our input.

To go with the 12volts is such a better decision on so many levels. You should research it and then you would see. Look at the thread in our other forum - http://drillbitsystem.com/forum/index.php?topic=2.45 I did my research and got feedback from miners who are VERY experienced with PS's. 12V miners is the way to go, but not the end of the world if we go with a 5v miner.

If we go with 5V I will be content, but it will cost each of us more money and give us fewer choices of PS's.

No fussing!  Grin  No changes involving any time delays!  I just want working reliable boards asap.  Grin  That's the main thing.  Auxiliary stuff can be dealt with as is.

Cool to hear some chip progress.

What chip progress? Do you know something we all dont? Besides that pic of a closed box I have not seen anything to confirm delivery of chips for this build.

^ True.

I don't really see what everyone is fussing over when it comes to PSUs.

+1
I was under the impression that the PSU topic had been discussed at great length already.

That's great news to hear.

Does this mean that the required power supply is the 5V version and not the 12V?

I hope not. It sounded like it isn't a difficult change to make. Hopefully we hear about that soon so we can order some PS's.

Hows the firmware going barntech?

Firmware is still happening. We have all hands on deck for this. Its the last hurdle before we go to production. Well, that and actually getting the chips, which really should happen this week, as should the firmware. The guys are feeling confident that it will be ready really soon. From there we are all set to go into production

Any update on chips being delivered?
The chips haven't been shipped therefore they haven't been delivered. The supplier wont commit to an exact date.

What are you talking about? I can confirm the chips for atleast one batch have arrived at the assembler, and the other is enroute.
Where has that been mentioned previously?
No where, but thats because of time zones. Shiny pictures of the batch 2 reel can be found on my FS thread.

Just make sure you bank some of those bitcoins to pay people. They've gone up alot in the last 2 weeks at least in U.S.D.

I hope that means the coins profits I'm not making while I wait for bitfury could be made up by other not furthering thier mining equipment waiting as well. I'm joking with the thought of buying a few more eroupter while I wait but I really don't want to seeing as I'm hoping I can find alternative uses for them before the end of the year.

Mine until unprofitable then resell for an ebay premium?

I'll hold onto mine in case there's a difficulty crash, but it's always an option that you can work into your roi.

Has a difficulty drop ever happened? I'd figure unless they decide to make more bitcoins available that it would be the only way to make a difficulty change.

Difficulty went down a little bit at the beginning of 2013, it scales up and down with available hashing power.  Hard to believe it could ever go down again but who knows. Smiley  Increase the difficulty too sharply and people will start to exit the mining game, which will lower the difficulty and bring people right back in.  It's a self-regulating system.

EDIT:  Just brainstorming, but could someone with a sizable percentage of the network's hash power manage to game the difficulty system?  Power up enough hashing power to total, say, 25% of the network, mine until difficulty is too high, shut down, wait for a drop, repeat?  Unless it's more profitable to run that 25% all the time vs playing with the difficulty number.

I looked here http://bitcoindifficulty.com/ and it seemed like  a consistent upward slope at least this.year.

Yes, a difficulty drop HAS happened before. Quite a big one too. Look at the chart history of difficulty.
