trying to edit an article of mine on devtome and get an error when trying to save:

Code:

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /doku.php on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I get the same error also when trying to save.

I can implement it but gonna require a good server to keep a separate index of Addresses from all transactions and to calculate balances, it will constantly fetch transactions from seed nodes and serve the website so has to be separate infrastructure for resilience.

Is there any chance to have and ongoing bounty of half a share in order to pay an small VPS? I plan to implement historical value in several currencies as well (http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin_bounty_now#block_explorer_with_historical_value), but is gonna take longer...

New Devcoin blockchain explorer, powered by Ophal.org:

http://www.coinage.tk/devcoin

Feedback is welcome!
Nice work, need to be able to search by address ideally for my useage though.

i have set the old devcointalk.org forum that went offline on august 2014 on http://old.devcointalk.org/index.php

I am putting the coinzen forum on the new http://www.devcointalk.org and any logins on coinzen should hopefully work on this devcointalk domain (starting this now).  PM me or let me know in here or on the forum if any issues.

Fuzzybear
I'm seeing both are exactly the same, perhaps the DNS still needs to change?

Hey all,

Sorry I should have waited till the sql import of the backup had worked, it has not as i need the original coinzen root password that was used to connect to the db.  as soon as i have this i can point to the new db and forum should be up.  I'll update here once this is resolved, but till i have the password the old devcointalk will still be there.

Both resolve to the same ip, but it seems that old.devcointalk.org reverts to devcointalk.org and has no dns entry. Yet. Very possible dns changes have not propagated.

TT

Was just in touch with the devcoin.org admin and they hope to have forum.devcoin.org pointing at the forum in the next few days.

Just got a copy of the DB, i'll load this into the forum tonight and all the old coinzen logins and threads should be back up, i'll keep the devcointalk current forum on a seperate sub domain to help transfer any data across from there.  I should be able to get most of this sorted tonight if my internet behaves!

Fuzzybear

Just a word of caution...

Likely you will have members that had old accounts and just created new ones using the same username. Like I did. So not sure what will happen if you try to import usernames that exist on the new forum, but you should expect to run into that.

TT

That should not a be an issue, since we are talking about two separate databases, the old one gets deployed to other subdomain and the new one gets deployed to devcointalk.

So does the community want devcointalk.org or not??

Happy to run it, happy to import the data and threads from coinzen backup, don't want to have 2 forums running side by side though if someone else getting coinzen back up up and running.  No offence but it has been some time now?? any idea on what the delay is? and the people allocated to run the forum... what evidence is there they will not dissappear like coinzen later down the road?

Fuzzybear

I can't speak for anyone else, but just today the transfer of coinzen.org completed, and the domain now redirects to devcointalk.org. You've done a nice job on the new forum Fuzzybear. The domain can be transfered to whomever, or I can adjust DNS, pointers, etc. as you folks need. Registration is paid to June 2017.

Can't login using my coinzen data. The users data table was wiped?

Ok things seemed to have moved ahead on their own so the backup will be made available to you in a PM, Fuzzybear, so that you can get the accounts installed. We will just have to wait to have the forum.devcoin.org pointed there to be a done deal.

Shattienator, hopefully we can find you another admin position if you are interested. Just let me know in PM.

Sorry if this is common knowledge, but what happened to the forum?

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.12136563

- Nova

Yes, saw that Nova, but I guess my question was more along the lines of how that could have happened because hijacking a domain is not easy these days, and registrars usually give ample warning to pay the small renewal fee before allowing a registered domain to be resold.

Anyway...

Why not just use a sub domain of devcoin.org like forum.devcoin.org?

TT

Hi Tsquared, there has been a bit of a breakdown of communication. I'm not entirely sure who originally had the coinzen.org domain, the people who were supposed to have it didn't. Tenthirtyone was the forum administrator, but said he wanted to hand it over to someone else a few months ago, and we've been looking for another solution. The domain name issue came into being recently, and I'm not sure if they're related. Tenthirtyone could probably clear that up for us.

In any case, I like your suggestion too. It's simple and clean enough for our purposes. I *think* Jasinlee has devcoin.org, so we can probably get him to add the sub. Fuzzybear, I believe shattienator had already got the forum replacement ready with a backup of the old one - Nova, do you know the status of this?

Yes, Shattienator has agreed to take on the Forum hosting once all is ready. He has been supplied with a backup of the old forum's DB to get things going.  Ashleysly has already been named to the position to handle the day to day administrating of the forum and will be working on its rebranding of being DevCoin specific in nature.
