That's not a bad idea to be honest. You could invest $10 every week, and that would be around $40 every month. After 18 years, you will be investing a total of $10,000. Bitcoin and other crypto currencies in the long run will always go up. So in 18 years, who knows, you might be leaving a fortune for your kid. And yeah, he will be proud of you. But keep in mind that you should only invest what you can afford to lose. And make sure you store your Bitcoin safely and securely. Don't forget to make backups of your wallet in case you lose it!

Few days back, I came across a post encouraging people to use the money well wishers gives to newly born babies and mothers as a gift  to invest in bitcoin for the baby,  then I was pregnant, just delivered 3rd of march. My baby and I has made up to $50 if converted just 10days after giving birth.  I am definitely going to use the money to invest in bitcoin this year for my baby so that in the next 18 years my baby will be proud of the decision I took for him.

Im so glad I discovered this platform this year, I believe I am going to achieve a lot from this forum

Below are lovely pictures of my cutie, my bundle of joy.🥰

I read your complete story. The thought you have for your child is the thought every parent thinks for their child. No father wants me when his child grows up, he spends a lot of time in trouble. Every parent must think and do something in advance to develop his child as a human being. But you have found a good medium for your child's future. By working from here you can definitely raise money for your child. Hope your child's bright future is fulfilled.

I'm curious how the OP stored the Bitcoin they bought for the baby, they created a paper wallet? Bought a hardware wallet or any software Bitcoin wallet? It would be more amazing for OP to share how they manage to store the Bitcoin so just in case in the future, other will follow it too.

Obviously this part to me will be interesting to know too , because the issues here is not just buying Bitcoin and keeping it from now to 18 years to come the security of it is paramount. Also I do believe that the Op is very much aware or has gotten some Bitcoin education to have taken this decision, The crypto space is not just about doing what other people are doing, it a matter of you understanding what you are doing and what Bitcoin is all about for you to take those decisions.
I commend the Op about the long term decision and view about Bitcoin, it really the best way to start with, and with that the Op would have no worries about the bull and bear market along the line, basically wether the price goes up today or down tomorrow until the child is 18 years.
As for me, I do however believe that the OP has thought well in investing in Bitcoin for her New Baby and I know Hodling for the long term is the goal but I would want to sell off during the ATH and buy back when the market hit around bottom again, that way she is able to double or even quadruple the investment along the market circle. Just a thought.

what made me curious is how you and your baby accumulate 50$? by giving birth? sorry i think i missed something about that.

But I can relate on you here because in 2019? i also invested the funds given to my daughter by her grandparents and Godparents to invest in Bitcoin for her own money in the future(things that we will told her once she reached 18)

congratulations for giving birth and thanks God you and your baby are safe .
What I meant by my baby and I have made up to $50 is the money well wishers, friends or neighbors gave us as a gift for safe delivery.

Thank you for your kind wishes.

Even though you are already happy about the birth of your child, I think it is not necessary to display a photo of your baby in full because this is a public space for fear that the photo will be misused by irresponsible people.
Original Poster better to giving evidence that she really bought / signature proved that she owned some amount of bitcoin as she talked about instead of giving photo of her baby in public area, but at least her gave some blur on the face of the baby. so we can make sure that her story is true.

then I was pregnant, just delivered 3rd of march. My baby and I has made up to $50 if converted just 10days after giving birth.  I am definitely going to use the money to invest in bitcoin this year for my baby so that in the next 18 years my baby will be proud of the decision I took for him.
you said that just 10 days after giving birth you made up to $50 it means that you bought almost 1 bitcoin for giving birth to your baby? because the price of bitcoin was about $22.273 on 3rd of March. then the price of bitcoin was about $22.620 on 13th of March. it means if you got increase its value up to $50 you almost owned 1 bitcoin.

Congratulations on your delivery mate, your bundle of joy is blessed always
Plus, very nice decision you've taken if you're able to hodl your baby's coin for him, he'll be so grateful to you.
You have to lock it up though and determine never to go there no matter the crisis you tend to face

I am happy for you, your baby, and your decision to save the money in bitcoin for your child's future. You have invested 50$ but that is not going to be enough no matter how high bitcoin reaches in about 10 or 20 years from now. However, it will be better if you convert some of your savings into bitcoin on monthly basis. Even if you allocate a few dollars monthly, it will end up with a good amount in over 10 years or more.

Bitcoin is the future global currency and now it is the time that we understand this and start accumulating for long term and for our children near and dear ones.

If you invest bitcoins now for your baby then it is going to be very profitable for you. Because in my country I kept money in bank for my baby but after seeing some people's post I withdraw money from my bank and save bitcoins my baby is now.  Six years. Hopefully when my child turns 18 he realizes that I'm going to hand him the bitcoin wallet. Hopefully he'll be happy and he can build his life with that money.

If I have money today and have like for babies or children I really like to invest for them in different wallet so that when they grow they all have their own portfolio so I believe that investment of bitcoin to your children will be a relief because bitcoin always have another prize in NY so if I should buy bitcoin of $10 this year and hold it t2030 from my side there will be a lot of profit so is good to invest for your children

How reasonable is it to buy bitcoin in a bull market, I understand that it is easier to do it now when the price is still near the bottom, but if the price reaches 100k or even more in a bull market, do you think it would be just as reasonable to buy?

After all, after a bull market, a bear market will come again and will again last for several years, since on average we grow for one year and fall for 3-4 years. Maybe it would be wiser to put aside savings during the bull market, and buy on the next down cycle?

Smiles..congratulations to you on your safe delivery. I am happy to see that you keyed into the advised of investing for your  newly born baby in order to secure her future. The way we are looking at banks, they are insecure places to keep our money and bitcoin is stealing the banks customers due to their incapacity to safeguard customers funds. We can't predict what the future has for bitcoin but since you will be holding for 18yrs,it is a good initiative. It is easy said than done and I hope, you wouldn't get too excited when bitcoin price hits ATH and sell,or when bitcoin dumps lower than the amount you invested that you will not panic and sell.

Nice decision. I can't recall the thread but I have read it as well. I haven't done something like this yet, because everything is for my baby whatever I am earning. I am holding a decent cryptocurrency, so they can spend from there. Because I don't intend to sell them right now and even if I sell, I will keep some for the future. Not gonna make my wallet empty anyway. But for those who can't afford to accumulate a big amount of cryptocurrency then better to make savings and invest in crypto. It would be for your baby or for your future.
Great job. Parents should always make the children the top priority above others so investing in bitcoin is certainly a good start for a parent. Not necessarily that you will start with a huge amount, but an initial investment with a minimal amount can do. After all, it’s not the amount that won’t matter in the long run, but most likely it’s your faith on your investment and how you will overcome the risks investing in bitcoin, particularly when some price crash suddenly happen.

It still has a long way to go, so for sure she could add additional bitcoin to it if they have extra money. It can accumulate overtime and you won't notice it. It is also best if you have like 1% of your salary intended for bitcoin so that five years from now you can accumulate a lot and it can help you. Treat it also as an emergency savings, as in case of emergency you can use it. Others who hold are still doing this for emergencies and as an investment.

Using 1% of our salary to invest in bitcoin for our children's future is a very good idea, but I would disagree if considering that investment for emergencies. Because we all know that bitcoin is highly volatile and the future is still a question mark, it is inappropriate to use it for emergencies. What if 5 years or 10 years later, bitcoin crashes and our investment drops? It can't help us deal with emergencies. Investment and saving should be distinguished into two different categories.

congratulations to your new baby and for your wise decision to invest the sum of $50 in the name of your baby. I would not mind to know the name of your baby maybe I can donate some token for the baby to help increase the savings for the future. I am always glad when I see people with Passion to invest and promote Bitcoin. Your baby would be proud of you so you just have to relax and make the best decision for your baby now that the price if Bitcoin is till low and quite affordable. Who knows what the price of Bitcoin would be from now till the next 10 years.

Congratulations to you and for bringing this awesome baby into this world. As a parent the best way we can secure the future of our children is by investing in their future and what better way to do that than investing in something that's built for the future. Soon everything will be digitalized as it's already happening and then Bitcoin will dominate.
You have done well to keep aside money to invest in Bitcoin for your kids, you should keep doing that very often, you can decide tu do that as a birthday present every year untill the baby is 18 then you can handover the private keys to your child and let him continue investing for his future. By the. You should have already taught the baby everything about Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is the perfect gift as you don't have to fill in paper works to handover your child investment instead just a random  pieces of worlds called private key can be used to access the coins on any device in the house.

Just like me, I am planning to do it in the future for my children. Since I saw a lot of people having life insurance to their children while at very young age, so for me, I will do like what OP did.
Because this is for the long term then he should be able to control his own at least a non-custodial wallet or better a hardware wallet will be much more secure especially the dozens of years that are planned to invest in bitcoin, if what is entrusted is an exchange then that is a big mistake because after all we don't know about the future exchanges there might be a lot of collapses because of the uncertainty.

Actually this is a good plan where he has thought about children in the future while we always believe that in the next decades bitcoin will be even higher because of limited supply and also a lot of demand because the community is large, I have to think about this as early as possible how there must be investment savings in bitcoin for my child later.

Although I'm still building my bitcoin portfolio on a regular basis I will have to differentiate bitcoins for me later.

Most users have mentioned about keeping the bought bitcoin in a secure way. For now she had gained knowledge to buy bitcoin for her baby's future. Next thing, she needs to learn about the security and the usage of different wallets. Exploring the forum she'll understand well about it. Being a woman and getting into bitcoin usage as an investment as well for future is really appreciable and congrats on the buying, because ten out of 100 knows about bitcoin and one out of the 10 have the courage to take such bold decisions and move along with it. The small investment made regularly will help on need, it maybe the child's education, health, etc.
