BTC can be earned in so many ways. Just read an article how you can earn btc while playing Minecraft..... And this is just an example. I don't get how these companies afford to do something like this. I've heard a lot more how you can earn btc while playing video games. What is the purpose and thought of this kind of thing?

Is it just trying to bring more and more users and customers to play the games?
Yes, but a minecraft server is typically not having "customers". Its mostly community run. There are so many different servers though that some consider advertising or giving away bitcoins in order to attract players. As I have played on one of those servers I can tell you its not worth it. Its a nice way for people to notice the server, but you either like the people there and stay because of them or you leave. The few satoshi you get per modified block/kill/whatever are not worth it.
I really don't like these ideas of how btc can be earned. BTC as a currency is supposed to just be like dollars, we all have to put hard work and effort in order to earn them, now games and other entertainments are ruining this whole purpose. What do y'all think?

I dont see the problem. Someone can earn 5$[1] worth of BTC a week by playing a game, so what? How is that ruining anything for anyone? You can still use bitcoin any way you like. Heck, some kid playing minecraft might get to know bitcoin just because of servers like these.
