With 1.5% house edge, for every $500m in wagers, they will pay out ~$492.5m back to players and profit ~$7.5m

This is easy math.

Also when you are giving out money to gamblers its not like you are giving away free money, I mean I understand the notion that "we have given half a billion dollars to winners" is more like we are a company who didn't scam anyone and gave the money but that was literally the money they earned so why would it matter.

Plus, we have no idea how much of that was big whales or actually gambling purposes, I am pretty sure there is a ton of people who put max they can on wager amount and play for the highest odds of winning just to basically farm bet token as much as they can. Hence, half a billion dollars is a great marketing tool but lets not kid ourselves and say that its something unique, there are tons of places that have done this and marketing about this looks like "we haven't scammed anyone!" and nothing else.

Honestly, marketing about paying half a billion dollars is both great marketing and horrible marketing for a website that has the eosbet system. You also have to tell people how much you won in order to make them keep on grinding bet token as well for dividends.

Unfortunately there hasn't been any announcements about the new games, there should be though because we have been playing the same games for a while now and it is really getting boring so a new game could see a surge in wagered amounts, after all people would love to test out new games.

People who play on other games already would move to new games to test them out and try to have fun a bit there, people who have stopped playing on old games would comeback to play a bit on the new games as well which means there would be more people playing the new games (at least for a while) than old games. It would actually be a great marketing too, they could just publish everywhere that they have a new game and just make some sort of banners about it and people would flock to it.

They did gave a reason. The reason was they had to give the marketing funnel (that's been release last week) priority. Because releasing games without being able to market it effectively would be a waste. Few weeks ago they hired an extra developer to start the development of HiLo again.
