News that Ebay will start accepting bitcoins appears every year.
Before PayPal decisions? they do the same thing right? that yearly news about adoption happen.

Quote
But I wouldn't be surprised if it did happen.
EBay is online transacting business so we cannot take this out to happen as Bitcoin and crypto is also increasing the appeal to all people worldwide.

Many companies are already officially using bitcoin, so why shouldn't a major marketplace join them. I just don't understand the pricing mechanism, if for example I have to make a refund, will I get back the whole amount in bitcoins I paid or will there be a conversion?
they will join mate that is for sure though may take some time?

Pretty good news for bitcoin price?
The effect will happen when this comes reality , but as long as this is just another waiting time then there will be no even small effect to the price of bitcoin.

as you know that when PayPal has this news in the past there are no activities towards the value of bitcoin but when the acceptance happened? then yes this brings a part of the bullrun .

so lets wait till this happens but for now never focus on that and invest with your own risk .

Pretty good news for bitcoin price?

Could be, if these news have a confirmation from eBay. Even though reputed news agencies post that eBay is interested in accepting cryptocurrencies, this is still rumors. It is a known fact that eBay is always searching for new way to attract customers and develops, but right now they just "consider" to accept Bitcoin. It would be strange if they dont discuss that option, since cryptocurrency has already spread all over the world. What I am saying, that considering does not equals planning or accepting.

Some big companies already accepted bitcoin and hoping other companies to do the same as well. It will surely create a massive waves of adoption as Ebay plans to embrace the bitcoin adoption in their company. In future more companies will be part of the big crypto space.

Until they provide an address or a lightning invoice to send Bitcoin in their checkout it's just rumours.
Exactly, we have been hearing this kind of rumor in the past and until now it's still not happening. So for me, I would not expect too much about this rumor but I will remain optimistic that one day the number 2 biggest online shop in the world will start accepting crypto.

I’ve posted about this a couple times over the last week or so, what I wrote can seem below. I would just caught those who plan on selling anything bitcoin/crypto/nft related, eBay almost always sides with the buyer, so be careful!

"Talking about eBay’s stance on emerging technology such as blockchain and cryptocurrencies, Iannone pointed toward the growing popularity of nonfungible tokens trading on its platform without making any official announcement regarding the same.

Iannone said that the company changed its policies last year to make the e-commerce platform a place to buy and sell anything, be it a physical or digital commodity. eBay didn’t respond to Cointelegraph’s request for comments at publishing time"

https://cointelegraph.com/news/ebay-to-add-crypto-payment-options-soon-says-ceo

Isn't this kind of attitude what we are waiting for from all entrepreneurs in the world.  By freeing payment options that are not only limited to fiat.  Because after all, the long adoption of Bitcoin has been hampered by the prohibition of transactions other than using fiat.  Though it's not a bad choice, crypto provides an increase in value whereas fiat contributes to a decrease in value.  So Ebay is enough to become entrepreneurs in the main ranks later if it is really realized.

They are more concerned about the NFT space although still considering other crypto currencies but it's a game of possibility not a certainty.
Quote
In an interview with CNBC, Chief Executive Officer Jamie Iannone said that accepting virtual currency was an option the company was looking at.

EBay, which disappointed investors with a weak second-quarter profit forecast last week, said it was looking at a "number of ways" to get into the NFT space.
But if it can be considered it will be a big boast on the crypto industry. So far we have had other big investments like Tesla and many others who have crypto payment options making the adoption even more swift and payment gate diversified not just restricted to fiat any longer

🔆UPTREND OR BULL TRAP ❓

Currently, BTC has spiked near the 45k mark after days of hovering below the 40k region. Is this a sign of an uptrend or a bull trap?

On the upside, there has been some positive news:
• eBay CEO says the company may soon accept BTC and crypto payments.
• Positive signs of Russia's recognition of crypto
• CEO of Flexport, a billion dollar logistics startup, confirms that they own BTC Despite the positive news, we still need to pay attention to the issues of Russia-Ukraine tension.

What's your opinion?

When ebay has officially adopted Bitcoin this will be positive news that will have a good effect on Bitcoin. Ebay is not the first time that it has made a statement to start accepting Bitcoin. In 2014 Ebay had tried to integrate Bitcoin Payments, but it was not clear what happened next. But because Bitcoin is currently so popular and accepted by many people, Ebay will probably adopt Bitcoin completely and make bitcoin a payment option other than Fiat. We'll just have to wait on March 10 what the official announcement issued by eBay.

Hey guys theres a news article stating that ebay might be accepting Bitcoin and other cryptos, if this happens then I believe itll be a game changer for the crypto world. Not sure how credible the article is , has anyone else heard anything similar. Also there was mention of an announcement on march 10 to confirm this. If positive,  We could see a new high even in these times uncertainty .

I remember when the news about Paypal accepting or adopting bitcoin comes , many people through their negative views about the issue but now? look what's their stand when the thing starts to happen.

now another Bit company is going to bring good news and this is EBAY , one of the largest business online , Hope this will happen any time soon.

either this may happen or not? yet this is  a good news .

There has been a lot of talks about that in the past and so far nothing has materialized, however I hope that eventually happens, as personally I am the kind of person that likes to save and you can find some really good used goods there that are as good as new for a cheap price, if I could use my bitcoin to buy on their platform it would be great for me and several other people that think the way I do, also it would have been nice if you actually put the source of that information on your post so we could see how reliable is the rumor.
Yeah, and only I have to believe if that they will finally decide to accept. There is a statement from the CEO that this coming March 10 they announced it, just a few days from now and it obviously makes people think, "this is it". But anyways, whether they accept it to not, eBay customers will still make use of their services. The only thing that excites others, especially crypto users is for them to have another option aside from fiat.

I believe some of these big companies like ecommerce giants will sooner or later add crypto in the payment method. They maybe hesitant because of some factors like volatility but it seems that the benefits are not outweighing those factors. They are seeing that crypto is the next generation when it comes to payment system. And if they will not join this new system, they will be left behind.
Majority of these big companies are still in observation on which they are still seeing some companies who had already accepted bitcoin and trying out to observe on how they would handle out volatility yet this had been
the main issue on why they couldnt really just accept it directly and also with regulation issues because we know that these platforms or companies are heavily centralized and we know that not all country does have
always that positive stance towards cryptocurrencies which means it would really be still varying on certain law condition or situation on a particular country and also if they do see soo much demand
then that might be the time they would be making out such decision.

If you're going to state such a claim the very least you could and should do is include a link to the relevant article, not wait for someone to respond with a link for you. Nonetheless it is a very interesting development and could herald much wider publicity for Bitcoin and will certainly encourage more buyers if they see a big outlet where they can spend on products. Amazon seemed to be flirting with the idea of allowing Bitcoin for a time but then all went quiet. To have such a huge retailer on board would be a huge boost to the eco system, but we need to be wary of hailing it as good news because Paypal managed to do the same but set it up in a really manipulative manner (no external transfers, they had all the control)

I think people are excited to see eBay accepts cryptocurrencies. But until there is no final say in regards to adoption, this will remain rumors and that might be YES or NO. But I hope they will as this gains more market attraction for crypto users and holders, and for them to enjoy. They'll somehow look at what could be the impact of this acceptance on their demand and probably increase more buyers.
This is not just an opportunity for them but this become a trend by now which we can't ignore.
Not only existing eBay users are going to be happy because they saw more options to pay but we that are non-eBay users are going to feel the same because this adds up to the adoption. For now, this can be a FUD because no legit source confirms it but this brings excitement and who knows, maybe eBay customers are now preparing for this and they will now buy btc while non-eBay users are going to buy more BTC as well because they assume that once eBay finally accepts btc, btc price will then pump.

Crypto is now in the mainstream, more people are now using it so this partnership can make their sales higher than usual. I'm sure they are going to consider this soon.

If Ebay makes Bitcoin as a payment methon, how the hell they are gonna monitor and perform refunds? And isnt all that contradicts the idea of Bitcoin and anonymity? I am for such option, that will increase number of scam on the internet. And we all are for it, just because we have Bitcoin. If we did not know about it, we would not care much about it Cheesy

You can still get your money back. However, unlike PayPal or credit cards, which can only be refunded by the banks, this is not the case.

Even if eBay decided to accept cryptocurrency payments, it would likely be through their custodial wallets. If there is a refund or chargeback, eBay would simply be able to freeze the funds in the account, just like PayPal. eBay will essentially act as an escrow in these situations.

I just don't understand the pricing mechanism,

Out of context.

Real life experience is if you don't spend the money then you don't get them in the first place.
