32gb ddr4 sticks will run out next...specially now that frustrated gpu miners cannot find those damn gpus in stores  Cheesy
To be honest, I'm surprised that there is no hype about Filecoin yet, and I might not have been particularly interested in mining this coin if Protocol Labs hadn't been behind the development of the IPFS technology. Although the entry threshold is quite high, but by hearsay, the return on equipment is within 70 days, which is quite tempting. I heard about the $15,000 threshold + it is not known how many coins to buy (didn’t go into details yet).

Considering the enormous cost of energy in my country, it seemed to me that filecoin mining is smart, even though the instant payment is only 25%, (well, of course, conversion to USDT and expectation of a bear market). This thread is kind of like a reminder of what I should be doing in the near future.

I might just actively participate here  Wink

So, I didn't find a suitable thread regarding the discussion of Filecoin mining, so for this purpose I decided to use the old thread, (for obvious reasons). In the near future I will edit the OP, and formulate a list of questions of interest to me, (as there are gaps in the filecoin documentation). Do not hesitate to join the discussion, especially I will be glad to see those who have already started mining this coin here.

Hah!, someone who's looking beyond just deploying mining units (which is in terms of "difficulty rate" -> "My grandma can do it") for a quick ROI.

I might just actively participate here  Wink

The Filecoin project documentation homepage offers all the necessary resources to learn about Filecoin, the software and the tools to contribute to the network, either as a user looking for storage, or as a miner providing it.

Storing data on Filecoin lets users harness the power of a distributed network and an open market served by thousands of different storage providers or miners.

Miners in the Filecoin network are in charge of storing, providing content and issuing new blocks. The above requirements will not increase in the presumable future, and money spent on hardware should provide users with many years of reliable service, paying for themselves several times over.
