i reinstalled electrum on new computer.  I then put in the 12 word phrase and bitcoin restored.  My issue though is there is no transaction history at all for my previous addresses.


For example i know there were a few addresses i used but i used 1 main address to receive.  However when i look at receive... there is only 1 address that is shown?  What about the option where it shows address, change etc?  I know the bitcoin address i have shown for my receive isn't the main one i used.


So the address that shows as receiving address is my bitcoin receiving address.


Why do i see requested amount and request expires in 1 day?  Can someone explain this?  So if someone send me bitcoin, i give them this receiving address.  But i leave everything else empty right?  However, what does request expires mean?  Should i stay at 1 day or put never?  For example if i request a bitcoin payout from a site, and put my receiving address, let say i don't know the exact amount of bitcoin i receive, then obviously this doesn't get filled out right?  I'm very confused what this request expire mean?   I assume it doesn't mean you are requesting bitcoin from a specific address right?  Like paypal where you bill someone for something?  That would clearly make no sense?


So i only have 1 bitcoin receiving address now with electrum 2.7.8?  How do i generate a new address?  Or just stick with this one?  How do i get the old bitcoin address i used before many times or i cannot do this?


For sending bitcoin, i assume everything is still the same?  I have transaction fee per kb is set at 0.0005 btc/kb.  Don't change this right?  So this should come out to 6-8 cents a transfer when sending?  But if you leave it at 0, then it takes very long for transaction to confirm and thus never do this and leave it at 0.0005?

There was a change in the wallet file format in 2.7.0 so 2.6.4 electrum won't be able to read your wallet file. You will have to restore from seed.

Like I said, there is no way to know how many people are using the latest version. Using the latest version isn't a must, only recommended. You can use previous versions if they work better for you.
You don't get a notification every time a new version comes out, you need to check for updates manually from https://electrum.org/#download.

So most of you are all using the updated version of electrum?  Does electrum prompt you to update to the latest version each time?

New to Electrum.
Issue on Confirm Seed stage of Standard Wallet.

Steps to reproduce:
New Wallet > Custom Options >Confirm Seed 'Next' not working.

Added an extra word to the seed and the app got stuck.
Eventually created a new wallet (default_wallet) with 12 word seed.

Downloaded Electrum 2.7.7 from official site (Setup.exe)
Windows 10

Yes you can install 2.6.4 over 2.7. But it's recommended to use the latest version which is 2.7.7.
There's no way to know who has 2.6.4 and who has 2.7 and it doesn't matter. ThomasV only said that it was fixed in 2.7.1, he meant nothing else.

If you have the seed saved You shouldn't be too worried to try other versions ONLY to see if they will open or not.

hi there.  Does that mean almost no one has electrum 2.7 and everyone else has the old version?  The electrum that was on my old computer was electrum 2.6.4.


So if i have a copy of electrum 2.6.4, can install that one and not use 2.7?

Hi there.  Can you confirm this electrum is fine for installing on a new computer and then putting the 12 word phrase and it wouldn't have that issue that i had before?

ok, so its a bug.

Do I need to/can I report it somewhere?

I believe this is because it cannot sync with the server. This seems to be a regression from 2.6

I'm trying to get my new Nano S working with electrum 2.7.4, but after I select "an unnamed ledger" whilst creating a hardware device wallet, I get a hang on the new page "please wait"

I'm on OSX 10.12

Is it just me or the cancel button when creating/restoring wallet not working? I'm using 2.7.4.
Once you click it, the next button stops working too.

Please upgrade to 2.7.2.

okay i have an issue with this.  After i typed the 12 word phrase and then not check any of the 2 options below... i then click next.


Electrum then shuts off.  I then click on electrum again.  It did same thing


Clicked on

standard wallet


then


I already have a seed



Input the 12 word phrase, the same thing happens.


Do you know why this is happening?
