I think pool op should instate mandatory 1% fee.

I saw someone the other day with 60TH/s on here.  He linked his payout address.  0% donation.  0%!!!

M

I mentioned this  previously but Luke and wizkid didn't like it. Just checked the top 20 again and not a single donation with thousands of BTC mined. If the high rollers would donate just 0.01 %, it would help out with pool maintenance costs. But I still don't like the idea of a set fee.

I'm not donating, I confess. But this will change once more miners have been deliverd to me and when my hashrate is higher than 10 TH/s (which will be in two weeks).

During the last months, I have tried several pools. When I started, I was with ghash. They leave you with the impression that you make a lot of money by paying out constantly. However, ghash is today a no-go. The guild looked nice. But eligius is in my opinion the one with the most transparency. And the fact that it is constantly under ddos tells me that some competitors may be shitting their pants because of this. Or another reason - who knows.

I don't want to pick a fight, but this, honestly, is crap...  I currently run one, single little S1 and I donate 1%, split 3-ways among stats/ops/hosting. Seriously, it's the least we can do, especially since EVERY other option charges something. You are riding for free because you're little and that's not right.

I HATE the idea of a forced fee, and if one is instituted, I will reduce my donation correspondingly; however, I only say that knowing that other people are freeloading. I am running 180GHs - I've been on this pool for over a year now, and I've given the entire time, even when my sweaty little GPUs were struggling to break 1MHs before the ocean of asics hit.

Second attempt.

@wizkid

Any information on NMC payout schedule? Thanks.

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

lol

And thanks for the pop-in WK! That's all I really needed -- to hear that you're alive and still committed to the pool. I've always had faith that things like manual payouts, etc would happen *eventually* - but silence tends to make one's mind wander. {feeling better now}

As for big miners not donating, that's just shitty people being shitty.

If I were running a pool I would give large miners a negative fee (i.e. a rebate)
Where is this money coming from?
You mean take from the poor to give to the rich? O.o;;

Yup. Good luck to other pools trying to compete with this strategy, other than by copying it.

on a positive note, I found a block a couple hours ago.  My first on Eligius and 4th this past year. Yeah!  The fact that I don't have the time or inclination to create a pool, my hat's off to WK for what he's doing.

The pool really hasn't been shrinking with the exception of one large miner leaving for their own reasons something like a couple months ago (unrelated to Eligius).

If you look at the 2 week hash rate graph Eligius has slowly grown a few %.

Luck has been good, luck has been bad... pretty normal.

Only "income" I get from Eligius is my own mining, and donations... a lot of which are simply reinvested into Eligius for various upgrades and DDoS mitigation.

Edit: Also, to note, the amount of bitcoins in queue for manual payout for those below the 10 TBC minimum for an automatic coinbase payout is currently less than 0.2 BTC... which honestly can wait until a full manual payout, IMO.

Dude I like your posts too - maybe I'm having a bad day - but this pool is shrinking and I'm not surprised...

I don't use this pool much any more so I'm not closely following it, but if the pool is shrinking that is likely due to bad luck. Idiots chase the luck around. They will even chase the luck to pools with higher fees. It makes no sense, but people do it.

Nothing you can ever do about that (other than reprogram human psychology), and it has very little to do with the payout method.

The algorithms are public.
What about the sharelog?
Used to be public, but it got huge and nobody ever used it :/
Not sure if the security-compressed sharelog used by CPPSRB itself is public, wizkid057 will have to answer that.

That's why I stopped mining here because you are constantly 'begging' for your rightful payout which should be 'automatic' like it is in other respected pools.
It's automatic here too. It doesn't change anything when you beg because it isn't on your schedule...
If it's automatic here too - why am I waiting 2 weeks plus for my 'manual' payment? And still not in the queue. I work hard too so I know how that is. But if I chose to run a pool then I would 'run' a pool. If I couldn't manage my job and the pool, then I would pick one and do it properly.
It requires a manual payout because it's so little an amount (under $5 worth!) that it would overload buggy miners to generate to it.
If you're so starved that you can't wait a few months for $5, then you shouldn't be mining...

If your implication is that wk does this 'pool' thing out of the goodness of his heart and makes no money out of it all
This is correct.
then 93.53% share reward? Shelved shares. Come on...
The algorithms are public.

Anyone in NY using Optimum having issues getting to Eligius to mine? I can get to the website and 2 of my miners on another network are working no problem but the cable one cannot. It gets to BTC and EMC no problem, but not the Eligius.

There is no fee at all. Nobody got the 6% you're "missing". You wouldn't have got 6% more on another pool.
That 6% is lost before any fees due to bad luck.

Yeah I know all that - guess I'll just carry on waitng for my 'manual' payout in a few seconds.
You forgot the "no sooner than" part.

Ok ok I've had my rant Smiley
