I'd like to touch on something i read a while back in this thread..   (around pg 47 i think..)

Someone else reported receiving a payout and it not showing up in their wallet.  I too am having a similar problem..  On 3-21-14 @ 10:22:45 my stats page shows Eligius making a payout to me but it has yet to show up in my Blockchain wallet.  Any knowledge as to why this may be happening?

thanks for any intel

You could try searching for the transaction here as a secondary source of info: http://blockr.io/

It's an issue with blockchain.info, not Eligius.

ghash under ddos too.

so, I guess they want some blocks for themselves.

Well they aren't doing any damage to the difficulty here. We've found several blocks during the DoS...

Not that a DoS will lower the difficulty anyway... large miners will just failover to other pools even if Eligius is completely down.

My little conspiracy theory is that they are ignorant about how difficulty is computed. Their hopes are to reduce the hashrate immediately before the difficulty change so that the next difficulty is lower than it otherwise would have been. If I'm right we probably have another 10 hours of dealing with this unless they go pick on a different pool.

Are they still at it right now?

I'm watching my hash rate take a dive, but checked an all my HW is doing what it's supposed to at the same rate it's been going at for a month now.

For me a dive is from 292ish Gh/s to 250ish GH/s.

I thought maybe one or two of my devices was hacked and pointing to the wrong pool, not so.

Not really sure why they're being so persistent with so little success.  They need a target with much less security... something like the NSA.

QFT ... truer words have never been spoken

These attackers have no lives. About 4 hours now they've been at this and the most they've been able to do is cause some miners to have to reconnect... automatically.

There's something really satanic about this pool's hashrate being so close to ~6660Th.

Worse... its 10x the satanic...

The automated protections I made for Eligius are actually doing a pretty decent job keeping everything online.

I've barely had to intervene at all honestly.

The big farms have failover and... also dont connect to any of the public Eligius IPs.

in that case, i can't see any reason for anyone to do this. it's a pointless exercise.

These DDoSers are persistent I'll give them that...

Not really sure what they want to accomplish.

just throwing this in the mix; perhaps it's not eligius they want to target directly, but using us as a means of hitting those big farms?
just a theory (i'll put my tinfoil back on now)

"The data on this page is cached and updated periodically, generally about 30 seconds for the short-timeframe hashrate numbers, balances, and rejected shares data; and about 675 seconds for the graphs, longer-timeframe hashrate numbers, and other datas."

BTW, Wiz, its data not datas.

I kinda like the ring of datas in that sentence Grin
