Elon is a businessman, and the reason why he purchased Twitter is to make even more profit out of it. If you compare Twitter with other social media platforms such as Facebook, you can notice that the market cap and net profits are only a tiny fraction of what is expected. Hopefully Elon will be able to monetize various avenues in Twitter and generate more profit. And who knows, he maybe able to expand the user base and make the platform even larger than it's competitors. And more importantly, he will be able to make Twitter a politically neutral platform.
I think that is because there are still many people that dont like to use twitter but if there are social media that they will use that will facebook, tiktok and youtube. There are also less ads on twitter. Elon Musk pays huge money on buying twitter so yes he will surely use the platform to generate profits so that he can recover what he spent. He can copy what other social media sites are doing like running multiple ads and adding more features like marketplaces, and others. That way, many people are going to get attracted to use twitter but making twitter free from censorship is already a big thing. This can be the time that Elon will get the sympathy of the public again.

he even bought it with cash, for 630 trillion, not a small amount of money for a platform,

I don't see any reference anywhere on this. And I'm not sure that it's easy to monetize his fortune that much. There will be a lot of inequality that affects his companies due to the fact that most of Elon's wealth is in liquid assets, not cash.
And I found this information:
I also read this and indeed from the news I read he bought twitter with an Equity Funding Commitment of $21 Billion and the funding commitment came from several parties such as Bank Of America, MUFG, Barclays, Societe Generate etc. and the rest is from Morgan Stanley.
But indeed this is also there are several versions there but for sure it is not from cash but Elon Willing to do the debt for Twitter.

And now he's the owner. I don't trust him also but it's definitely a welcome change. And the stakeholders are probably happy that they may finally start seeing profits come in.

But it is the right wing (and not the centrists) who are celebrating.

Not surprising considering all the pain the lefties there has brought on others. I never used it myself personally but many people have mentioned something changed, like they're suddenly getting more engagement, etc. Common explanation I'm hearing is they probably reverted it back to what it is before shadowbanning and other stuff. Just waiting for Trump to get back there so I can watch people complain about his tweets again.

Bitcoin is already being accepted on Twitter, but not for adverts, rather creators on the platform are allowed to accept tips in bitcoin and Ethereum from their followers on the platform. Elon Musk has made statements about Bitcoin mining being bad for the environment, does that mean he would remove every Proof of Work (PoW) cryptocurrencies on the platform, including Bitcoin?

Does Twitter take a cut from these BTC tips? If yes and I don't think he'll just outright ban it from the platform. I know buying Twitter is a frivolous purchase but I'm expecting he'll also want to make a bit of money back. Maybe he will use it to influence public opinion though against non-green mining.

Elon made a barrage of tweets immediately after his deal with Twitter was confirmed. And many of them were quite interesting. Some of them were sarcastic, like putting cocaine back in Coca Cola. But others were quite serious, such as the attack on ultra-liberal Vijaya Gadde and the commitment to give same treatment to both the far-right and the far-left. He never put a single tweet in favor of the right-wing and vowed to keep the platform neutral. But it is the right wing (and not the centrists) who are celebrating.

I guess Elon Musk 10% shareholder in the firm haven't been able to Grant him the level of control he desires on the social platform Twitter.

Sometimes one can have money to the extent that fell like they are supposed to own most things in life.

Maybe I don't know. Is Twitter having any financial debt on their shoulder? So why is E. Musk seeking for the ownership!

Could it be due to his dissatisfaction towards Bitcoin that have made him taken such move, cause it's very obvious Twitter has been and still is very influencial on Bitcoin by promoting and breaking informations  than any social media platforms.

I don't see Jack selling off Twitter at the very moment, cause as a business many even if he has the intentions of selling the firm, it wouldn't be now.

Maybe years from now, if possible.
It was basically just not "ownership" that he desired. He wanted to change some things on twitter that he felt like needed and he wasn't capable of doing that which resulted with him buying it. That’s the type of wealth he has, obviously there are financials and obviously he hopes to make a profit based on this investment however the reason he picked twitter instead of investing in something else is the fact that he wanted to change things.

Imagine being so rich that twitter does something you dislike so you spend 50 billion dollars to buy it and do the change yourself. Makes no sense to me but maybe owning information social media channel would be awesome for him.

We're not sure and don't expect that to be Elon Musk's major change to twitter.  What I think right now is that he's advocating free speech and will certainly more or less change the censorship of twitter users.  Not only Jack Dorsey but also Donald Trump also showed support for this deal.  Although, I don't think he will share his time with spaceX, Tesla, Twitter???  Any action by Elon Musk will have a sizable effect on the change that is likely to occur.  The most recent are statuses that imply his acquisition of Coca Cola or it will happen in another amazing partnership.  Everything has the potential to turn around when power and conditions are now up his sleeve!

Now Twitter is already in the hands of Elon Musk and I hope that there will be a big change on Twitter, Elon Musk will always be actively talking about Crypto and hopes that after buying Twitter immediately make a new project that will compete with Bitcoin.

We will soon find out why this purchase was made. I hope this reflects well on bitcoin. Elon Musk is a rich man. He can buy whatever he wants and Twitter is an example of this. Now he can regulate the incoming information and create the world of his dreams. This world can be anything - kind, beautiful, without war and violence, and vice versa. We will soon find out.
Yes, he has bought out Twitter for $44 billion, and Twitter agreed to it. So, Elon Musk is now the new owner of Twitter and even Jack Dorsey agreed that him (Elon Musk) taking over Twitter is the right path. Let’s hope that he unlocks the full potential of Twitter like has said he would, and not end up ruining everything that the company has worked so far to build. As for the part of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, yes he’s backing Dogecoin.

Like two days ago, Elon Musk in an interview says Twitter ads be better to be paid in bitcoin. Elon Musk has 82.4 million shares of Twitter which is 10.3% of Twitter. Recently he wants more of Twitter and wants to buy Twitter.

Tesla boss Elon Musk has offered to buy Twitter, saying he is the right person to "unlock" the social media platform's "extraordinary potential".

In a surprise announcement, Mr Musk said he would pay $54.20 a share for Twitter, valuing it at about $40bn. It recently emerged that Mr Musk was Twitter's biggest shareholder after he built up a large stake in the firm. He said that if his offer was not accepted: "I would need to reconsider my position as a shareholder".

We all know how deceitful Elon Musk can be, all he cares about is doge coin, not bitcoin, even doge coin rose when he bought shares on Twitter, he is only looking for ways to make doge popular and this can be effective if he owns Twitter. I believe he will fail because Twitter is never like Facebook and will never be like Facebook. His aim will only be towards making doge the dominant coin Twitter will be accepting just as he did with Tesla after his bitcoin criticism which he was wrong about but just wanted to fool people.
He is now the owner of Twitter now he wants to buy another something he will now tweet and investors will invest more and more.

In Monday’s statement, Twitter said Musk is providing about $21 billion and has secured $25.5 billion of debt and “margin loan financing,” adding “there are no financing conditions to the closing of the transaction.”

He didn't fully use his wealth to plan to acquire twitter.

With the amount of finance that Elon Musk has, he can buy whatever he wants including buying Twitter, according to the media I read and the media I searched for. Elon Musk's goal of buying Twitter is to be able to get freedom of speech, according to Elon Musk, freedom of speech is the key to the future of twitter, but if Elon Musk cancels the purchase of Twitter, he will most likely be fined, but I'm sure Elon Musk will definitely buy Twitter at the price offered by Twitter.
I don't think Elon Musk will use such amount of money to buy Twitter because he has other things he can invest that huge amount of money for and within a year he will get double of what he has invested. Now that Dogecoin price is preparing to increase higher, I believe Elon musk will prefer to invest that money on Dogecoin than Twitter because the price of Dogecoin can increase higher at anytime for both short and long investors to use the opportunity to earn well from their investment.

Yes, I have received information on other social media about Elon Musk going to buy more twitter shares. Even though he already has a stake there, he wants twitter with a high proposal. But Arab Prince Alwaleed refused to sell twitter to Elon Musk, due to some considerations going on I believe Elon musk can't have full twitter. Twitter is the most widely used social media by people around the world, twitter has very good growth. It would be very difficult for an owner to let twitter just like that. With the offer to buy all of Twitter's stock, Twitter's stock went even higher. Elon's influence in the investment world is incredible, words can make markets change so fast.

But I heard that Elon Musk has already bought Twitter. And as a result, his total assets have been decreased. Elon Musk has taken out 25.5$ billion dollar bank loan to buy Twitter in exchange for mortgaging 35 to 40 percent of the company's shares. After the news broke, shareholders just started selling shares. So far I have heard that his total assets have dropped by about 30 billion. Did I actually hear any rumors?

The purchases that Elon used did not use personal money. He made a Debt to private companies with Tesla shares as collateral. A businessman will not spend his personal money to buy something and Elon deliberately uses borrowed money to follow his desire to buy Twitter. Maybe you think he has given freedom of speech, but indirectly he will eradicate anonymous accounts where privacy is often the main thing to stay safe.

Haven't you seen the news that Elon Musk has officially bought Twitter,
it looks like you missed the news but apart from that it is clear that Elon Musk will indeed make Twitter a place for free speech,
Obviously this will be interesting to look forward to and we'll see what happens next

Everything has a price, it seems the board of Twitter can't resist Elon Musk's offer that is so high. Hopefully Elon Musk keeps his promise that after buying Twitter he will give freedom of speech to all users. So all of us as Twitter users are not afraid of getting banned and warned if we express sensitive opinions that many people don't like. Because I was already annoyed using Facebook which began to limit my opinion on certain things. Another positive thing is that Elon Musk will use Twitter to promote cryptocurrency, so I expect more and more people to join the crypto industry. In order to make the price of Bitcoin go up again, because I believe buying Twitter has something to do with cryptocurrencies too.
I'm quite curious to see the big changes Twitter when Elon Musk is officially the owner of Twitter, because we know Elon Musk's style is usually quite aggressive in making changes.
Not all actually. There are stuffs that are priceless and there will always be a reason on why you won't sell the thing even if you are being offered by millions or billions of cash. It can be that it has a sentimental value to you or anything else.

In the case of twitter, I think they don't value it, they don't really value their company because why would they sell it? Or maybe they think they are getting old already and have no time to manage the company very well and there are also problems that a company might face. They don't want to deal with that anymore but they come to the point that they want to retire, relax and enjoy the fruits of their hardworks.

Some angry people tried to bring the FCC into the mix and demand they block Elon Musk's acquisition of Twitter: https://twitter.com/stillgray/status/1519452741206425600/photo/1

Their response is rather candid.

The shareholders of Twitter prior to Elon Musk's acquisition were Saudi Princes and other large financial firms. Something tells me the Saudi's and and investment corporations don't have any concern to "democracy" anymore than an eccentric billionaire would.

as i know elon musk want twitter be a place for freedom of speech in social media platform. but i am believe it just a cover to hide important agenda.
Agree, he must have a bigger agenda. Making a freedom speech on Twitter seems a too simple goal for a big person like Elon Musk.
I am also not sure if he buys Twitter to make a more massive promotion (tweets) for Dogecoin. He isn't a team of Dogecoin, we also don't know if he really holds a big number of Dogecoin. So, buying Twitter for improvement of Dogecoin price, is just a people's speculation.

Not sure what the real purpose is, he may buy Twitter to make this social media more profitable in the future. Both for his own matter (tweet anything he wants) and for his business matter (such as promoting Tesla products).
