Having said that, I don't know where the OP gets the information about Elon to be the world richest man in the world but according to Forbes Jeff Bezos is still the richest man alive.

Yes, it is better to invest secretly without anyone knowing than to announce to the public. It will make him get asked by the media and the media can easily compare with Elon or other richest people who already invest in bitcoin. Besides that, if Buffett announced that he has bitcoin, that can attract the government's attention or the authority to know more about how many bitcoins he had.

Forbes says Jeff Bezos is the richest man based on the fiat that he has and not bitcoin but maybe Elon has many bitcoin but if he does not sell his bitcoin, then it will not be the same if someone has much money like Jeff Bezos.

Do you think Musk cares about something like this? I mean if I had so much money I will care about my own goals and how to reach them and not about whether or not I happen to have more money than another billionaire, but what do I know? I am not a billionaire and I do not understand how their minds work, so maybe Musk does indeed cares about something like this, in which case I think it is possible he will retain that position for a long time.

Yeah he can. Its because he expands his wealth by having multiple business and investments. Aside from selling cars or his tesla company, he still has SpaceX and boring company that is eagerly solving the gap between humanity and space travel that could lead to space tourism. He is a genius in his approach towards cryptocurrency somehow. His tweets is making him more rich than any of us.

I am far from being a fan of Elon "the man". I am however very impressed with the trajectory of this guy, who undeniably had the benefit of an advance education and a well to do environment, but was able to take high stakes risks and led the project (e.g. Paypal) to fruition where many failed.

Tesla has many advantages over the competitors as of now, but no castle resists the passing of rain seasons and China may throw a lot of weight behind producing a good quality electric car.
