And the current capitalization of Tesla is not the real activity and profit of the company, but what kind of profit investors expect from the company in the future, which in itself is a rather risky event. The market is a rather unpredictable and chaotic thing, so it is almost impossible to make strictly defined forecasts, but if Tesla cannot maintain its growth rates, then this will inevitably affect the capitalization of the company and, accordingly, the condition of Elon Musk, unless Elon has time to sell his shares profitably and start a new promising project Grin

230+ is a really a giant number. I would think as the great portion of this amount as shares in different companies , as it's the value of all what he owns. I would like to know the net revenue per year/month. [Without to mention benefits from Doge coin Hype and other cryptocurrencies he tried to promote several times] .

I have to say 230+ billion dollars is the richest we have seen so far officially, but nowhere close to what the future rich people will be. We do not have that much money right now that we could attribute it to people who are rich right now, it is the future we are talking about. One day someone will come up with something new, a new technology, a brand new idea, something that will shock the world, for maybe a decade or even longer he will just be selling pieces of his company to keep making it better and eventually he will worth over a trillion dollars.

This is how inflation works, if the rich stay at exactly the same level as they are, then inflation will cause them to get "poorer", of course they will not become poor, it would require decades or even maybe a century for them to be ever poor, but they always have that need to keep growing to get richer because of inflation.

The op is saying that Elon Musk added extra $23 billion to his wealth, and is as rich as Bill Gates and Warren Buffett combined together, not that his worth is only $23 billion; currently he is worth over $200 billion. If Satoshi Nakamoto happens to be on that list, he’s not going to make the top ten list of the world’s richest people, rather he would be somewhere around the top twenty list.

The least on the top ten is worth over $100 billion dollars. I would put Satoshi around 16th on the list of the richest people. But that’s still a good position, and in the future he’s likely to be worth more than this as the value of Bitcoin will keep increasing in future.

It's funny that the wrong number was referred to several times by different people in this thread, and even some conclusions were made.

To avoid something like this in the future, I would suggest to never trust what you read on the Internet from the first sight. Spend 2 seconds to google it.

As I said when it comes to those rich people most of their money is on paper assets and their own companies, and just as you suggest things are not looking good for the economy right now with all the problems we are facing with supply issues, the slow economic recover and the pandemic which is still ongoing.

This means that in the case a global crisis were to emerge a great deal of the wealth of Elon Musk will evaporate, fortunately for him if his companies are still holding bitcoin then the potential damage he could face will be reduced in a significant way.

We don't know how long he will maintain being the wealthiest man on earth. But what I know for sure is that it will not be permanent. The position whatever it may be, is replaceable. Anything can happen any time. There's always a possibility that someone will dethrone him from the spot he is currently in depending on the perseverance of the person and the resources as well.

Always remember that the world is round. You could be at the top now, but there's still a chance you will hit rock bottom the next second. It may sound negative but it's true. You can always bounce back though. Getting up and doing better the next time is always a choice. After all, we learn valuable lessons each time we stumble and fall.

Only Elon knows if he will be able to maintain his position or not. Maybe for now, we can totally say that Elon is capable of sustaining his spot because he has the wealth and has variety of investments that keeps giving him huge returns. But there is no permanent in this world. Somehow, things will change when we least expect it. Even Elon i guess knows that.

However, if he can see things more in positive ways, and he can multiply his investments through rolling his money, then maybe in the future he will still occupy the spot for the richest man in earth.

I am not entirely sure if this should be even allowed. I know that many people think I am just a hardcore leftist, communist person for saying this out loud. However, I dislike communism as much as I like unchecked capitalism as well. Why I believe it should not even be allowed? When you have things that worth as much as 200+ billion dollars, you are gathering wealth that you will never need, but it is also not cash that you could pay taxes from neither, it is stocks, just stocks that people valuate that much.

I am pretty sure if you checked how much money Elon or Jeff has, in cash, literally cash in bank, it is probably not even 1 billion dollars combined. So, what do we do? One guy is told to be worth 230+ billion dollars, and same nation has MILLIONS homeless and starving, we should find a way to prevent something like this happening, but I am not smart enough to find a solution for it neither.

How could anyone envy that, and how could anyone not feel shameful for being one?

Now it seems as if being the richest person is a good thing, when in reality sometimes it is not like that. Because quite a lot of rich people do

I think Elon will sustain this position for a very long time, this is one of the sign that cryptocurrency users and investors will surely rule the entire world. The current price of bitcoin and how crypto market is moving this days will give a chance for Elon to give them small space and will retain that position of the world's richest man on earth.

Elon Musk is already a wealthy man because he is the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, and so its expected that he can be the richest man one of these days. But i doubt if he can manage to sustain his new spot if Tesla and SpaceX will lost its demand. Because if not, he will be replaced easily which i think he won't let it to happen. Anyway, I think Elon will stay on the top as long as Tesla and SpaceX will work well. IIRC, him and Bezos are the ones who are fighting for the top spot months ago but now Elon cemented his spot on the top. Everything has its end though so we might see him on the top this year and not next year or in the next 2 years

Right. Elon won't be holding that title forever, so we may see changes replacing the spot after a year or two. We'll find out then when we get there.

Meanwhile, we can't question Elon why he became the richest man in earth as he is known to be a smart guy, and is willing to ruin his credibility for the sake of huge profits. We'll, if he continues to be like that, no wonder he will be able to sustain his new spot. But there's no way people should envy him as he is not really a good model after all.

I think the same as you, I really do not believe that the wealth numbers are not going to change to be higher and higher, as he says, for me in my particular opinion the richest being is and will be Satoshi, and BTC has reached a new ATH, hopefully it will reach $ 100k to set world records, Forbes published the richest beings in the world, but Satoshi is not taken into account, so what do they play?
