Shame on me for not fulfilling my initial statement. Since ChiBitCTy got an answer to his questions, it is time for me to lock this thread. Speedy recovery yahoo!

I believe that @ChiBitCTy is referring to the Prypto scam[1][2] that took place around 2019 since it seems that he also was affected by it[3]. Just the idea of having to rely on a website to redeem the card makes me shiver but after reading that the card had an expiry date of 5 years[4] I was more in awe. How can an item that for sure would get the attention of collectible enthusiastic have such a low expiry date? Better yet, why in the world would it have an expiry date since the product itself (bitcoin) doesn't expire and no mention of the expire date in the card?

Ohhh I see... Now, seeing your posts, I slightly remember the incident. Well in our case, this card is not loaded with anything. The scratch area has a code which can be used on BitcoinRomania's platform for redeeming 100 RON in your account. But, as I said in other previous posts, this implies creating an account there and that implies KYC -- and I don't recommend anybody to go through KYC. The card is very nice as it is and its value is certainly not the 100 RON (~20 EUR) code written on it. The value is given by the rarity of this card and by the fact that it's a nice collectible item Smiley

Now I actually don't know until when this code can be used. I asked them last year about the code validity and they said it won't expire, although we were in 2022 and on the back of the card is written September 2021. Maybe at some point in time the code won't be usable anymore. But I can't say anything precisely on this matter, as I can not foresee the future Smiley

I confirm this and I stated here what Rick said. However, the card was not issued by a "Bank", but by BitcoinRomania, which is biggest Romanian crypto exchange.
Thank you for the heads up. I've since corrected my post.

I am not sure about what bitcoin-scratch cards you talk about Smiley

I think @GazetaBitcoin is able to further clarify this question further, but I do believe he still has some more in his possession. See his reply[1] whenever MoparMiningLLC asked about buying a card also for his collection.

This is correct. I received 5 such cards from BitcoinRomania but I never heard anybody having such cards besides me. They must offer them only for special clients, for friends or for promoters or something like that. I received those cards from them (together with a shirt and a 0.001 loaded BTC card) after I wrote a very nice topic about them in Romanian board. I offered one of these cards as a sponsored prize for a giveaway organized by 1miau (and that card is already at the winner). I offered a second one as a sponsored prize for another giveaway organized also by 1miau. This card was won by RickDeckard but, eventually, he decided to auction it for helping yahoo62278. I am still in the possession of 3 more cards.

So, to answer your question, they are rare. I never seen any other such card issued by BitcoinRomania and, if they issued more, they are certainly not for regular public access.

Also, might someone be willing to transcribe what the back of the card says? I guess I could type it in to google translate, but any time I do that with Spanish..my friends who are fluent say it sucks lol.
The translation was made by Gazeta himself and you can check it out on the first page of this thread[2]:
Edit: any ideas why they would have put an expiration date on this? I at least appreciate they did this, unlike the scam that was bitcoin scratch-cards.
Gazeta also inquired the Bank that issued this card and the reply was that the code is still valid (even after surpassing the previous September 2021 date on the back of it).

I confirm this and I stated here what Rick said. However, the card was not issued by a "Bank", but by BitcoinRomania, which is biggest Romanian crypto exchange.

Is this a big exchange in Romania?

It is biggest crypto exchange from Romania Smiley

Being that we are collectibles nerds here, this kind of thing appeals to all of us..so just curious for the lot of us collectors..

There are more than 99% that nobody else from this forum to have such card, excepting you, me and the other winner from the giveaway organized by 1miau  Roll Eyes

This is the first time I think this card has shown it’s face in collectibles, and alway love rare stuff!

It is, certainly, a rare collectible!

Edit: any ideas why they would have put an expiration date on this?

I guess that was a generic message... When I asked them about the expiration date they said that the codes associated with the card can be still used, although 2021 passed for a while now.

I at least appreciate they did this, unlike the scam that was bitcoin scratch-cards.

I am not sure about what bitcoin-scratch cards you talk about Smiley

Card was received yesterday.
Wow, very nice to hear such positive news from you and I hope it'll be an interesting enrichment for your collection.

Looks like our safe shipping has been a big success after all. Smiley

I'm sure this is one of the first of many that you'll have the chance to take part into! Do let us know the cost of shipping an elephant if you ever had the chance to find out Smiley.

Card was received yesterday.  Thankfully they delivered this instead of loosing it like they did the other package supposed to be in my PO Box.

Thank you guys for this, everyone...really appreciated.  A cool part of my crypto card collection!

It's great to hear that the card is finally on your possession ChiBitCTy, thank you so much for the feedback. I do hope that you enjoy being able to add one more item to your collection while at the same taking part in this charity event. Kudos to you!

I am very glad to hear that, Chi! Smiley Now I am relieved, knowing that the card arrived at destination.

And thank you @GazetaBitcoin for providing such a great service as the official escrow of the event. I'm sure this is one of the first of many that you'll have the chance to take part into! Do let us know the cost of shipping an elephant if you ever had the chance to find out Smiley.

I confirm receiving the 0.35 mBTC and I also want to let all involved parties know that the card was shipped today to Chi using safest option presented by Romanian Post. Thank you, 1miau, for that!
Safe shipping is always a good option and by doing so, we'll ensure that ChiBitCTy will receive your card for sure and undamaged.
Because you know, "fragile".  Wink

Please find below the receipt I received from Romanian Post:
Many thanks for sharing our original post office document. It's great, what we can get from 7 USD in Romania.
I believe, we should store it in a safe place and keep it as a commemoration.

Thank you, 1miau, for organizing the giveaway for my couch, where RickDeckard won your prize in BTC and the card offered by me; thank you, RickDeckard, for your big heart which determined you to make an auction for helping yahoo62278, offering this nice card as prize; thank you, PowerGlove, for participating inside the auction, for offering greatest bid and for having also a big heart, offering the card you won to someone else; thank you, ChitBitCTY for accepting the prize! (You may find here the rest of the way the card had to go until finally finding its winner Smiley)

It's really amazing to see what a long way this card made and, in the end, yahoo62278 could be helped!
Yes, turned out that our giveaway has been a very succesful where many Bitcointalk members benefitted.
I also still need to confirm that icopress has won the 2nd place, which I'll do later.  Smiley

Looooooool! Lucky for you, it's not an elephant =))) (Even if it were, I don't know if I was able to ship it. Nor with Romanian Post, anyway. I also don't know if it could fit inside the envelope Smiley)
Yes, it's doubtful.  Cheesy

At our next giveaway / raffle I will try to ask a Romanian Post officer the price of shipping an elephant inside a simple envelope. You know, just to have the information Smiley
Feel free to ask for it. I'm sure we'll get a very interesting answer.  Cheesy
But I don't know if any Romanian Post officer really knows about it because in Romania, there are only very few elephants.

I would basically avoid sending it in a simple envelope, as I did in giammangiato's case. I think it's too risky... Besides, he was from Italy, thus chances to have the simple envelope lost in translation were lower compared to sending a simple envelope over the ocean. I would rather ask for the price of (1) sending the envelope as a recommended letter (this type of letters / envelopes are more secure, as far as I know) and (2) also use an AWB code for tracking. These 2 options will not raise too much the overall price of the shipping and they will make it more secure. I will also ask for the price of sending a simple envelope and I will present you all possibilities.

Does a physical Ron Coin/round exist? I'd be interested if one exist.

Sadly, no. There is no physical RON Coin. However, there is a RON Coin (RONC) which can be bought from BitcoinRomania and it's a stable coin, having a 1:1 value with Romanian national currency (RON). Official website of developers is https://roncoin.to/en and it allows you to create a wallet without making an account. However, you'll have to pass through KYC in order to make an account to BitcoinRomania and buy it from there. OTherwise, if you know anybody holding RONC, you can transact with that person using your KYC-less wallet. However, I believe you are interested in a physical item, for your collection.

I would be interested in purchasing one of these cards - not for redemption - but just to add to my collection - I am guessing it has to be someone local there? would someone be willing to purchase one for me and send it to me? I will of course pay in BTC

MoparMiningLLC, this is your lucky day Smiley This is because I have a few more such cards and, if you want, we can further discuss this through PM. I was (am) also willing to launch a free raffle at some point in time, with the prize being a card like this.

I think a good way to encourage bigger bids (and therefore, help yahoo) is for me to spend a little more than I wanted to, and make the following offer: I'll match the winning bid (unless it's my own) up to the value of 8 mBTC (e.g. if the winning bid is 6.1 mBTC, then I'll send yahoo an additional 6.1 mBTC).
Hopefully, giving other people double the spending power will attract some generous types. Cheesy
Woah, this is reaching heights that I wasn't expecting to ! Thank you so much for the matching donation @PowerGlove! I'll update the thread accordingly! Really looking forward to see what happens next!

Cheesy

P.S. Just a reminder to update the OP with a settlement address before the auction closes (yahoo's address is no longer in the referenced topic).

However, from what I understand from 1miau, I believe he saw my earlier post when I said I will pay the shipping and he made only a complementary addition when he said that he is willing to pay the shipping if the winner is from outside Europe.
You are right, I will pay shipping fees if someone wins our action who's from a country which is a non-EU country (like USA / Canada / United Kingdom / Nigeria / Japan....whatever country Bitcointalk members are from).
United Kingdom would be likely a bit more as well since UK has left EU but I'm sure we'll find a solution and as original giveaway owner, I will pay shipping fees for winners of non-EU countries.

I don't know your final shipping costs but I believe it's not too much and won't make me bankrupt.  Cheesy
It's just a small card, so shouldn't be much of an issue.  Smiley

you give the money to whoever you want, it's your entire responsibility. And the participants in this auction only participate because they want to. Know the prize they will receive and where the money will go - trusting you.

And, as a small addition, participants also trust yahoo62278, and this is the main reason for which they participate at this auction. After all, I am sure that the card itself is not really something extraordinary, excepting the fact that you can redeem 20 euros with it -- which, anyway, is not something extraordinary at all. Unless he is a collectible fanatic, I believe that any participant is only trying to help yahoo62278 -- and this is something touching.

I'll spare what I can and raise the bid to 6 mBTC. Hope things get better for you!

PowerGlove, that's really something, man! God bless you!

I would like to expose my arguments in the discussion in the right thread[2] latter in the day.

As you probably saw yourself by now, topic is locked, but this is not a loss anyway. Excepting that, I was wondering if you think it's a good idea to post in OP (at its bottom, eventually) the bids made so far, thus they are visible for anybody else interested? This topic tends to contain also posts different from just bidding and it may be easier to see what last bid is.

I am also curious to see if someone else will bid more than PowerGlove. And I really hope so, for yahoo2278's sake... Cheesy

Later edit: I just observed that:

Regarding shipping fees if a non EU citizen wins: as organizer from our giveaway, I would pay shipping fees!
Thank you for the donation and thank you so much for the offer regarding shipping fees outside EU! Just a clarification: Is it regarding customs outside EU or actually shipping fees? I also offered myself to pay for shipping fees that @GazetaBitcoin will incur, but he offered a counter deal that I couldn't agree and he ended up supporting them as well... Am I right @GazetaBitcoin?  Cheesy

I confirm, I told RickDeckard that I'll pay for the shipping, he insisted he'll do it; then I said it'll probably cost me ~5$ to do it, but if I let him do it I will charge him with 1000$, as I can't charge myself, lol. Having these two options in balance, he agreed with my proposal =)))

However, from what I understand from 1miau, I believe he saw my earlier post when I said I will pay the shipping and he made only a complementary addition when he said that he is willing to pay the shipping if the winner is from outside Europe.

If the campaign than I'm donating to ends up being a scam then I'm the only responsible to have being tricked into taking part in it and I should learn from my mistakes. I'm not saying that it's a scam (else I wouldn't feel compelled to donate to it) and I have my reasons to support it, but I would like to expose my arguments in the discussion in the right thread[2] latter in the day.

I think you will no longer be able to make explanations in this mentioned topic[2], since it has already been closed.  Roll Eyes

But you don't have to give any explanation. As I said and very well, you give the money to whoever you want, it's your entire responsibility. And the participants in this auction only participate because they want to. Know the prize they will receive and where the money will go - trusting you.

Everyone is responsible for their actions, and that's why we don't have to judge them just because we don't agree.

You guys might consider cancelling this auction. I was sent a pm by a mod asking me to remove my donation addresses, I assume asking is against the rules and I do not want anyone getting into trouble for me.

The gesture was very kind and i'm sorry if anyone catches any shit over this. I don't think you will FYI.
I haven't received a message to stop this charity auction from any mod (at least so far). I may be wrong on the reasons but I think that this is probably due to the fact that this is, as theymos has pointed out and other established users, because the forum is meant to be as free as possible[1]. In this particular case I am free to choose if I end up donating my prize to whenever cause that I see fit, independent of the causes behind it.

Anyway, I'm guessing you have one monstrous bill heading your way, so I'll spare what I can and raise the bid to 6 mBTC. Hope things get better for you!

There's a thread in Meta where it's being discussed. (I see you've just posted in it, but maybe others will find the discussion there interesting.)

I was sent a pm by hilariousandco asking me to remove my donation addresses, I assume asking is against the rules and I do not want anyone getting into trouble for me.

Although I do not know what rules may be broken, I believe it's possible that only you broke those rules, not RickDeckard too, unless he was contacted as well by hilariousandco. I think he can do whatever he wants with the money earned -- which includes sending them to you, although you do not show anymore a visible address for donations... Does this make sense?

There were many charity auctions in the past and none was stopped (although some were scam) for breaking any rule... Furthermore, there are also two more similar auctions active right now - [Auction]CYPHER HODL-SATODIME CARD CUSTOM ARTWORKS-proceeds goto coldkey victims, ⏩⏩[AUCTION LIST] Auction for ColdKey victims of the apparent theft⏪⏪. This makes be believe that such auctions are following the rules.

It's up to RickDeckard in the end but I think he should wait to see if he is contacted for cancelling the auction prior simply cancelling it...
Fair enough, I was not told I was breaking rules just asked to remove addresses. I don't want to see anyone catch any hell over me is all.

what nonsense is this?
I have my BTC address on my profile page, am I doing something wrong?
if it's not a rule violation, it would be good to hear an explanation from mods of the exact reason for the request to remove the address.
I was not asked to remove it from my profile, I did that on my own. Just asked to remove it from the thread. TBH I don't know the reason why I was asked anything, but it's not a battle worth fighting.

Uhm that's odd. I've just opened the countdown and it currently shows London Time[1], could anyone else provide feedback?
I tried Tor browser from different locations, and it shows different countdowns. It looks like it uses the browser's location and bases the remaining time on the local time there.
Thank you for the quick feedback. Just to clear some doubts in the future, I've updated the countdown with a newer one that is more clear to read.

have zero feedback/trust regarding payment/funds
See:
Escrow: GazetaBitcoin currently holds the card and will be the one who will send it to the highest bidder once payment is confirmed (min 10 confirmations)

I confirm this. That's right, just as Rick Deckard stated. I am holding the card in escrow until a winner is chosen and I will ship it afterward to the winner. I hope this helps. Of course, this is valid as long as you consider me trustworthy for acting as escrow. In any case, I can ensure you that this auction is really for a honorable cause and OP is a good man.
Sorry for my late reply but meanwhile I saw that LoyceV and GazetaBitcoin both clarified the deal - I'm totally aware that I'm "nobody" regarding being trusthworthy to make any kind of deal in the forum considering my lack of feedback/trust, but if there's anyone in the forum that I have fully confidence without any questioning is, without a doubt, GazetaBitcoin. This is mostly due to his behavior and his actions throughout is presence on here and after several discussions that we've had in the past. But then again, this is my opinion which may differ from others (including the highest bidder). If needed, I may transfer an amount equal to the highest bid to an escrow until he/she receives the item in a worst case scenario.
@RickDeckard could you please confirm the auction end time?

Is it "26th February @ 21:00 PM (GMT)" -as stated in the OP-
OR
21:00 PM EEST(aka GMT+2 / Romania time) -as shown in the countdown timer link-?
