https://bit.ly/387FXHi lightning theory
You are on a bitcoin forum and you don't know what segwit is?

I mean you're clearly not here to learn since you won't even google a word you don't know. I did an "I'm feeling lucky" on google and got this just searching segwit.

This goes for everyone else, if you can't even search google for basic bitcoin improvement protocols, you probably need not apply (don't post in a thread if you don't undertand the op).

It's worth noting that some multisig addresses can start with a 3 too so it's not just the segwit ones.

I do not understand the need for some members to repeatedly repeat the same thing over and over regarding SegWit/Legacy address. Any user who posts their application for free spot in this campaign is disqualified himself at the very beginning if he/she do not know the difference between different address formats.

It is not only BTC SegWit or multisig addresses which can start with 3, Litecoin addresses can also start with 3.

You should also use Google sometimes to learn something instead of just accusing others of being ignorant. For example, did you learn something from this thread : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/new-coins-supported-on-ledger-nano-s-5043128

You showed "great knowledge" there about hardware wallets and forks...

Apologies to campaign manager DarkStar_ for off topic/but too much posts went in that direction.

1. It was introduced to reduce block sizes. The people that need to know about it are those who are sending dust frequently so we can keep the chain as free as possible.
2. Shitpost in the alts board if you want to talk about litecoin.
3. I’ve seen that hardware wallets aren’t waterproof, flash drives and solid state drives are... (although there’s no need to derail this thread further is there)?

Even if I think I'm a good member of the forum I'm disappointed by the fact that I'm in the first group of a kick out people from the final list.
Cool mate! You are not on the list it doesn't mean you are bad member. DarkStar has not mention that who isn't in list they are bad member. Same as me, I am also not even on the waiting list. Probably we need improve more ourselves. Nothing here disappointed, there is only 2 spot but may be 50 peoples applied, so obviously manager will choose best one. We know different with Good, Better and Best.

Congrats... ETFbitcoin, I will follow you to improve my posting quality Wink Best of luck.

Addresses which start with "3" are P2SH and may or may not be Segwit. You can't tell for sure until coins from that address have been spent and you check the transaction's scripts.

I think Coinpayment wallet could be use for SegWit address although its not native but SegWit (P2SH) address. Although previously coinpayment address starting with 3.. but that was not SegWit. But new all generated address are SegWit (P2SH). You can see on screenshot. They have noticed on old address but if you generate new address its automatically SegWit so there is no noticed.

So I think Coinpayment address could use for SegWit address.

Yeah. A lot of these comments are wasted on individuals who still have a gap in knowledge. It should be an implicit entry barrier.

It is not only BTC SegWit or multisig addresses which can start with 3, Litecoin addresses can also start with 3.
I don't see the purpose of this comment. When making this distinction, it might be relevant in the case of someone posting an address under the subtext of "Address" sans Bitcoin yet this is not the case.

In summary:

Addresses which start with "1" are P2PKH and are never Segwit.

Addresses which start with "bc1" are Bech32 and are always Segwit.

Addresses which start with "3" are P2SH and may or may not be Segwit. You can't tell for sure until coins from that address have been spent and you check the transaction's scripts.

Do people really don't know about SegWit or SegWit address?
I know I appeared in your list and you must be thought: "oh maroons!" I really didn't know that SegWit address starts from 3, I thought the point is not an ezchanger's address. But thanks to you I cleared up couple things to myself.

A legendary ranked fellow not knowing what a SegWit address is. Yet he still quotes his ignorance. I guess someone doesn't truly deserve their ranks.
He probably doesn't understand what "must" means or he's just that stubborn.

The amount of users posting the incorrect address is crazy, goes to show which users actually read before posting.

This is an interesting one...
I was going to say from the first line, you look like a bounty spammer. But from the forth, you don’t know what segwit is either.

@squatz, admin side of things? Why the admin?

It was a mis type , I was in a rush yesterday, if you check my post history in August or a bit early I was telling others about Segwit.

bc1quujx6ldxjeu5jtml2pgprjl7tv9prrv26kn3g4

I have many such addresses, I just copy pasted the wrong one. People who try to increase their sport bet campaign posts are the worst and if I was the manager I would remove them from the campaign of Sportsbet.io as I see a lot of them here spamming the shit out of this thread.

Not sure you.l get added here since you got a neg and habbear got removed for it...

Looking forward to working with this project

As there are codes only for sr and hero/legendary I suppose only these ranks are allowed, right?

Yeah I know, it was a brilliant question but I tried to read the post and i couldn't get what you need to apply, besides good quality posts, that i obviously don't have.
Really? Did you really read it?

It's literally the first information in the post right before the rules:

We accept users Sr. Member and above into this campaign with the following payrates:

 - Sr. Member, Hero Member, Legendary and Staff = 0.00075BTC/post

Maybe if you read more (actually read the thread) and post less, you may acquire some knowledge necessary to make good quality posts.

Honestly looks just like another random post thrown at a thread to gain activity. Account farming - that's how it's called, right? Smiley

Or just be normal and check the seclog archives. Or are we not normal here?

Look at my posting habits over the years and they’ve probably changed. Everyone’s probably has to an extent. I doubt satoshi writes like he did in the white paper. Or theymos since his start here...

Well yes, but that's a way to confirm it from the admin side of things. We can only really confirm the way that people write, and the habits they follow. When using this sort of example I meant with someone going from posting with a high proficiency in English to someone that can't really write the language (or has some level of broken English)

This is the example of an account being hacked and sold to people in 3rd world countries with the intention of making money (through sig camps, bounty, etc)

But of course there are better methods of doing this with better accuracy, the only issue is if the admin team would really want to do that sort of thing. I personally don't even know theymos' stance on that.
