Quoting ourselves from the main CODEX’s thread:
First of all, CODEX is not affiliated with any other projects named “codex” and the game cracker you have mentioned in particular. Why CODEX is named CODEX? There are several reasons to come up with such a naming:
1) CODEX, unlike many other exchanges, had its own code and engine built from scratch. This is what resembles the CODE part.
2) Codex as a definition in general means a book, from Latin “caudex”. As you might guess, it resembles an order book at the exchange.
Second, yes. The latest news about exchanges being hacked, closed etc put a shadow on the whole exchanges’ business. But we are sure there are legit businesses. Why to create a new exchange, you might ask? This was a dream of one of our investors. He dreamed about own exchange for a long time, and crypto on the horizon made it even more viable to come true. We do an extra security measures too. We use EdDSA cryptography, so we don’t store API secrets unlike other exchanges - and improve.
Third, how we can prove we are legit? When launched we understood there will be concerns. We can’t disclose all the measures we take to confirm our legitimacy, so, please, stay tuned and we will bring the good news in March-April. Meanwhile, let us help with a research that may open up our roots.
1) CODEX obtained all necessary licenses, check them here: http://bit.ly/CODEX-Licenses
2) As you might have seen on our website we have 3 partners: AXON and ANSON|BAER are our accounting and legal partners, Attic Lab is a fintech IT company that created CODEX exchange. Attic Lab is also the owner of Attic.Pool, one of the TOP EOS Block producers. You can see the full list of BPs here and find there “atticlabeosb”, currently ranked #6: https://eosnetworkmonitor.io/ At the beginning Attic.Pool team made several development for CODEX and we continue to share experience and expertise. Summarizing, we can say that CODEX is EOS-oriented and community-oriented exchange. Together with Attic.Pool we share developments to be done for communities, mainly focusing on EOS. We have launched an EOS CPU Aid on our exchange for those traders who use dApps and plan to implement more EOS features. Check out our Roadmap Q1 2019 to see the full list of developments for the first quarter: http://bit.ly/CODEX-Roadmap-Q1-2019
Fourth, why do we need a promotion? We think it’s pretty OK to start a bounty campaign. We are not the first, we are not the last. We like to create opportunities for the crypto community during the bear market as we are all in it together. We appreciate those who share a word about us. Previously, we successfully conducted a BTC giveaway and did all the payments: http://bit.ly/CODEX-BTC-Giveaway-Results
What will you do if it turns out to be all good, will you give every participant a positive trust?
Also does CDX give dividends?
Yes, the exchange is working. Which wallet do you mean, the EOS wallet or USDT desktop wallet? Both are being developed now
TRUST, FUNDS, PROMISES: We understand trust grows with time. Same as in friendship! You do the right thing: don't trust - verify.
LISTING FEES: We don't have a listing fee. We prefer community voting, but still, our analysts take a close look at the project and community to project a possible demand. That's how we listed BEAM, GRIN, BTT. These were listed emergently because there was a demand.
CDX does not give dividends as it is not a security. Why it is not a security? Because to receive a "reward" our users have to make at least one action. In this case, to do at least 1 trade.
Though, if you mean rewards, yes, CDX gives them. We call them "loyalty payments". The full list of what you can do with the CDX token is here: http://bit.ly/CODEX-CDX-Native-Token
