LBRY has no ads, Theta has no ads. Both work on their own consensus protocol. Theta will take a long time. LBRY is already live but its far from being userfriendly or fast for average joe. Lack of ads leads to people needing to pay with LBRY tokens -> buy them from exchanges or mine LBRY. Thats why it's still very small, even though its around a failry long time (crypto related). Viuly has a similar setup as Flixxo, but not much can be dfound out about their content distribution, looks kinds centralized. Their Token distribution also shows a lack of marketing possibilities and development funds. This will play out in the long term. I didnt look much into stream. To be fair, there are competitors and new startups everyday. I prefer the team to work on the platform rather then compare every project to each other. Flixxo obviously has its own strengths and if they play it out, they will be able to target a whole other target audience then LBRY for example. LBRY targets youtube viewers. But youtube viewers will never actively buy LBRY tokens to watch content.
Exactly - ultimately, no viewer will want to move from a free platform to a paid one without a *significant* increase in utility. It's difficult to be more convenient than youtube, so any system you have to buy into is at a disadvantage.
Flixxo, however, enables viewers to contribute to the internal economy without spending a penny, but offers them the option at a low cost.
