Cryptocurrency has come to stay, but it depends on the particular coin you want to invest in, if i am in the position to advice anyone on the crypto to invest, I will say Bitcoin is the best, because of the technology behind it's existence, bitcoin is reliable and transparent, op you have raised an important point that every crypto enthusiasts needs to put into consideration, no doubt crypto (bitcoin) has advertised itself, but we still have to enlighten people more about it, note there are some people that have little or no knowledge about bitcoin, that are interested in it's investment, I know that discovering this set of people might be difficult, but if we are been approached by this people, let's not forget the needful which is spreading the news by telling them how this digital asset works.

Baba the thing with Nigerians is that we overdo things and in some cases when it comes to financial crime,  Nigerians are recorded among the top people that engage in these illegal activities even though we have other countries whose citizens are worst than Nigeria in wired frauds and schemes.

But the major reason why the CBN give the ban on bank vs cryptocurrencies transactions is due to the rise in the number of Ponzi schemes perpetuated using Bitcoin and other altcoins as means of payment or investment tools but in the end, the scammers pulled several exit scam on the investors when the bubbles burst.

But aside from that,  Bitcoin is just a victim of circumstance and due to Bitcoin's unique features,  scammers seize it as a formidable tool to carry out their scheme activities.

I agree with everything you said, but for the bolded statement, I once argued about it in the past that the reason why the CBN banned crypto-related transactions is based on some other reasons, like how a lot of people were more involved with a huge amount in the crypto market rather than keeping their money in their bank account. About that, your point is also a valid reason why they might ban crypto transactions, but I just always feel there are more reasons for it.

I've found out that many people are willing to know about bitcoin and other Cyptocurrencies but are scared to engage in it due to fear of the unknown or lack of lack of trust for it. I had a conversation with my neighbour yesterday and our discussion lead to talks about bitcoin, it got to a point where I asked her if she had an idea about bitcoin then her reply was no (tufiakwa) i no wan even know am because na scam, then I asked how, she said yes now na yahoo boys dey do bitcoin and I no go like put body for wetin them go scam me, it was so funny that I laughed, and later began to correct her statement.

I started by letting her know about cryptocurrency, i gave her a breakdown saying that crypto currency is a digital currency that the transactions are decentralized that is they're not controlled by government authorities, then I told her bitcoin is the 1st Cryptocurrency that was created as an alternative to fiat currency for transactions of goods and services, that got her interest and she was like really, oboy I think say na scam o, then I told her no that asides being decentralized that bitcoin is trustworthy and safe and all she needs is a better understanding about it as well as investing and storing crypto with a good exchange.

I created this post because I know cryptocurrency is vastly gaining audience around the world but there are many left behind who doesn't have idea about it, most of them due to ignorance have been scammed on wrong investments by bad actors, these persons can be anyone, your friend, uncle or even closer family members so it's our duty to teach  them about cryptocurrency to avoid the risk of falling for bad actors.

People go say Bitcoin na scam if they don't know anything about it or they don't have interest on it, I know go blame them, because dey go think say na that can of platform were if you invest money dey go crash for some weeks, dey scam people if dey don't have any knowledge about what dey are doing, scammers done full anywhere now, but if you guide them and explain everything about crypto for them, dey will understand that is not a scam, because Bitcoin is the best crypto currencies in the world and anyone will like to invest is money in it  but is long time investment

But did you know that Nigeria still try? In crypto adoption, Nigeria is always among the first 10. If you know you cannot fully teach people what cryptocurrencies are, do not bother to tell them about it. If just discussing and you tell them, let them know how risky they are too.

E get one thing wey the law enforcement agency like dem EFCC dey do on purpose. Dem go announced some things specifically repeatedly like dem go seize Bitcoin worth so so amount with other items and calls cars of special brand names and they're doing this to associate them with yahoo boys so now if you wan teach person Bitcoin dem go think say you wan teach them yahoo. We still get a long way to go for the country but we go surely get that information about Bitcoin out to general public. Make we just dey try our best dey preach good about Bitcoin and one day we go fit knack our chest talk say we dey into Bitcoin and people no go judge us as scammers.
But did you know that some people are internet fraudster and they are dealing with cryptocurrencies? I do not mean they scam using bitcoin or any other cryptocurrencies, but they scam and bought bitcoin and/or some other cryptocurrencies. There was a crypto scam research that I read in the past when cryptocurrencies were not regulated like this, with many exchanges like Binance making their users to deposit and withdraw without KYC, the research linked Nigerians scamming people on Instagram and using exchanges linked to Lagos IP addresses. I do not see the research now, it shows the methodology used which would have been something good to read. Few allegations may not be correct but not all that are wrong, just like in life without crypto.

since Nigerians have been the most victimized people when it comes to cryptocurrency-related frauds e.g scam Bitcoin investments and other crypto-related schemes, this has made room for all kinds of misinformation, misinterpretation of Bitcoin and what it entails.

Mate, I don't think it's only Nigeria; in every country, there are usually crypto crimes and those that paint Bitcoin black. Even US is also inclusive among country where most citizens have committed some funny acts that put others in doubt about Bitcoin (crypto crime). Even North Korea, the UK, China, Russia, and other countries are never excepted from countries where crypto is not painted black by some people; in fact, it's a general thing; no country is a saint in crypto crimes.

Yes many people are afraid that Bitcoin is a scam. But this the best time to them to accept coin though there will be no late in Bitcoin whenever they come, they are welcome but they would have been benefited if they started it early from now. Don't only tell people about di advantages but also tell him the disadvantages. Bitcoin was created in 2008 and launched in 2009 and the creator was Satoshi Nakamoto. This is the beginning before the advantages and disadvantages.
We have people who don't know the value of bitcoin till date, always panicking and spreading falseful information concerning bitcoin, I think these set of people are afraid of change and growth, ignorance always stands on their way. I've invested in bitcoin long time ago, although I've withdraw my profits from the project and reinvested in it because I need more from the project, it's promising and we dare not jeopardize our opportunities to invest in bitcoin. Bitcoin is a prominent project in the market, let them believe what they want to belive, bitcoin have made so many people rich and have also send so many people to trenches.

Yes, it's very good to always correct people in their state of misconception about Bitcoin or crypto generally, because if we see such people and don't correct them, they may still convince others to believe that Bitcoin is bad which can discourage them from investing into Bitcoin. Quite a lot of non-bitcoiners just have different thoughts about what they think Bitcoin is, and another thing that worries me is that some of them feel that Bitcoin is a get-rich-quick scheme. In my country, a lot of people also have all these kinds of misconceptions about Bitcoin. I was in the company of a group of friends one day as they were discussing Bitcoin, and one of them was saying that if you invest in Bitcoin, you will just make a sudden fortune. That's just what some people think.
The fact is that, despite that always trying to avoid taking part in cryptocurrency-related arguments around by vicinity, it is still very important to set records straight and try to correct every misconception and at some point, it is very good to confront the naysayers who always try to paint Bitcoin black alongside other altcoins, and since Nigerians have been the most victimized people when it comes to cryptocurrency-related frauds e.g scam Bitcoin investments and other crypto-related schemes, this has made room for all kinds of misinformation, misinterpretation of Bitcoin and what it entails.

So it has become very important to always clear the air when necessary and to engage in constructive discussion and to enlighting those who care to listen and gain knowledge on cryptocurrencies and their associated risks, and how to protect oneself from becoming a victim of the vad aspects of bitcoin and other altcoins.

Enlighten those who have no understanding about the project; it is currently a complete waste of time for them because there is little time for them, and their prospects of amassing earnings are limited, but they can enhance it if they follow the appropriate way. The market is evolving, and new developments are taking place at this time. Bitcoin has benefits as well as drawbacks, so I am aware of everything that is going on in the market. Bitcoin's presence in the market provided financial independence to most traders who chose to trade and invest in Bitcoin. Those who invested in bitcoin when it was $5k or $10k are now reaping tremendous rewards, as are those who bagged it and put it in their portfolio, which has prompted the sell.

Nigerians have hard bad experience with ponzi scheme, and cryptocurrency in the Nigeria stereotyped perspective as a scheme and a get-rich-quick scheme at that, and this misinformation have cost a lot of devastating bad image for Bitcoin and the entire cryptocurrency market in Nigeria, and only a few numbers of Nigerians who took the time to develop their understanding and knowledge on the subject matter have clear u derstanding of what the real content and context of cryptocurrency.

So it was the best decision for you to have chosen to educate those ops first before introducing them to the crypto proper, and now time, they will develop a basic understanding and build a knowledge base cryptocurrency foundation/coins portfolio in the long run.

The kind misinformation wey many Nigerians get about bitcoin no be here. Anytime wey bitcoin is mentioned to them, the first thing wey d come for their mind na to regard am as a scam before any other thing follow. Although a good number of people wey I know and meet, I don successfully clearly their mind sae bitcoin is never a scam and no be people wey d into am is regarded as yahoo people. Why em b sae yahoo people d into am na because of the anonymous nature wey bitcoin d provide(for them to ask their client to pay in their bitcoin address without them be trace by any government officials). Na why em go be sae, them d like use am as their payment method give their client. Nothing again apart from that but as for bitcoin is an investment tool that many crypto investors d invest into for long term objectives to make gains by hodling

You can't hold her responsible for what she said because she informed you how she feels about bitcoin. She doesn't know anything about it, but it is due to ignorance because everyone in this country today believes that anything they do online is yahoo yahoo. They are ignorant of the legitimate side hustles available online. These individuals want a thorough explanation of what bitcoin and cryptocurrencies actually are. I didn't believe in bitcoin when I first heard of it because I assumed it was all these Ponzi schemes that defrauded people. As a result, I missed out on benefiting from it much sooner.

You don do well as you don try put at least one person mind for inside this crypto. Anybody wey get interest go surely learn one day and as e de go sef almost everybody go sabi this crypto thing na just matter of time.

my dear you have done very well, yes someone who did not know about it can be scared just like that your friend because some people only hear that yahoo boys scammed people through internet,an for that they have concluded that they have nothing to do with internet at all no matter what, but when you sit them down and explain to them every thing in detail, some may develop interest and some may still insist not to participate until when they will receive the good news from someone they know very well and by then they will agree with you that it's really truth ok..
But in any way it's we must preach the gospel to the whole world and who ever that wants to join the next richest then he will pick up and join and people with wisdom but people with over sense will remain the same..

Sometimes It might not generally be oversense because if they have an idea about it then they wouldn't be speaking negative about the Internet or crypto they'll rather argue with you claiming to know more than you do, but I think say the thing wey dey cause this particular thing na lack of knowledge, even the Holy book talk say "my people perish because of ignorance" ignorance na very bad thing and eh done stop many people from going forward.

The thing be say no be by force them dey use teach person, to gain their audience you need to convince them and make them understand say the thing you they try  teach them go be of a very good benefit to them, if you one use force, that one go even scare them away or discourage them, however if you done try to teach them and they no gree learn, then you move on and allow to  them regret later, after all many are called but few are choosen, no be everybody go dey informed for life, that's why illiterates exist so literates fit teach them.

This very paragraph is the major i will want to voluntarily  tell someone about bitcoin because in my country, what people want is a risk free investment, that anyone you want to talk to about bitcoin  might want to  come into it with the idea of you helping them do the investment and possibly  give them return in an agreed basics without wanting to bear any risk, but with this paragraph,  I think it will be more better if we try our best to atleast enlighten the people around us about bitcoin if for nothing, then it should be for the purpose  that they might not be scammed through such means.

There have been alot of rumors and misinformation and even misunderstanding associated  with bitcoin  in our country and you wouldn't have to blame anyone who wants to shy away from it.  The usage of bitcoin is strictly  determined by the user and since it is decentralized, at some point, its been used by some of these scammers as a means of payment for their criminal activities and many other people have been scammed as well through the binary investment options back then.  At every stance we find ourselves, I think letting people know of cryptocurrencies and bitcoin would be one of the best community service to run.

We still get a long way to go for the country but we go surely get that information about Bitcoin out to general public. Make we just dey try our best dey preach good about Bitcoin and one day we go fit knack our chest talk say we dey into Bitcoin and people no go judge us as scammers.

Aswear we still get a very long way to go a oit this things and even uptill  now I dey fear to even let the next person know say I dey do any crypto related stuffs and even till now if I wan comot from house, I dey get this fear say what if this uniform men stop me for road ask me wetin I dey do? I no even know wetin to answer because outside farming  na forum dey deliver and no how you go wan see person wey no look like farmer dey tell you say him be farmer and you wan believe. No not our sars men na .
So we still get a long way and until we fit beat our chest and tell anybody say we dey do crypto,  make we just dey on low key for now.

The word scam have been attributed to bitcoin most of the time from people that have no knowledge about it because of those so called yahoo boys. I don’t know how they were able to link owning bitcoin and yahoo together and they are in no way related to one another. Many people see any online investment or savings  as a means of scam and so they avoid it by all means and label all of them to be scams. I don’t blame your neighbor for her behavior and mindset towards bitcoin since she’s still ignorant about it. And thank you for spreading the knowledge about bitcoin with her and making her understand what bitcoin is about and different from the negative factors it’s attached to.
