Has anyone experienced the myTrezor website generating so many inputs that it takes a really long for the little Trezor to sign all those inputs? And not only that the fees go super high. How to remedy this? This almost renders the device unusable unless I'm doing something incorrectly.

Do you receive a huge amount of small incoming transactions on one of your addresses? Can't explain it otherwise. Trezor will always take the needed amount of inputs and only make 1 output + 1 changeaddress.

ahh, okay, yes, I did that. So, what happens if you guys decide to close your doors? your site goes offline for some reason, how would i get my coins back?

I was going to link you to the trezor faq, but noticed the question isn't really answered there. It pops up a lot.

Let me explain what your options are in case satoshilabs disappears from the face of the earth together with myTrezor.com:

You would be able to use an alternative wallet that supports the trezor. Electrums upcoming 2.0 release will support it and many other wallets plan trezor support.

There's yet another fallback that can also be used in case your trezor gets stolen or damaged and you don't have replacement or don't want to replace it: You can import the seed (the 24 words you wrote on that little piece of paper) into some other wallet software. That seed is standardized so it shouldn't be too hard to find a compatible wallet. Wallet32 for android is an example.

good point we'll add that to our FAQ! Thanks  Wink

How to remedy this?

Right now? Spend the time to have the Trezor sign a transaction consolidating all of those inputs into one.

In the future? Don't have tiny amounts of bitcoin sent to a Trezor address. Also, you'd be paying the fees whether you're using MyTrezor or any other wallet.

On the first page, it states that we will be able to copy the private keys only once, during set up. Is that possible? I just set mine up and never saw an option to do that.

You were shown 24 words that you were supposed to write them down. These ARE the private keys.

If anyone is buying a 2 for 3 deal and would have an extra one, please PM me if you'd like to sell it at a discounted rated or if you just feeling super generous and would like to help me get my hands on one.

I'd definitely be VERY grateful! --I'm a poor student and it's just really hard for me to fork out that many bitcoins right now.

How do you order it? there's a little button next to the colour but how do I know if I've selected it or not?

There is a green border around it.

Or just press "Buy now". You get a list of products and are able to change quantities then.
The product you want is "TREZOR 3for2 (3 pcs)".

It's unfortunate that they called it account, because it connotes with bank account.... but, a bank account is really a bank deposit account. Account really means some numbers that you track, and deposit means that you have given your money away. So it is not really bad to call it an account (as in BIP-0032). It is a way to arrange your numbers.

Gives us a splendid pretext to argue what an account really is, and what a deposit really is.

Technically, your bitcoins reside on the blockchain, so having an "account" on the blockchain makes perfect sense. You have an account number there (your public address), and the only thing that you actually hold locally is your private key (and, possibly a full copy of the blockchain, if you are maintaining a copy locally, but this isn't a necessity to maintain an account).

Automatically if you order 2. What I'm wondering is what if you order 4?

No. Actually you need to order the "3 for 2" product. If you order it twice, you'll get 6 TREZORs for the price of 4.

Christmas sale by any chance?  Cheesy I want to get a few of these around 3-5 but what are the benefits of this instead of a paper wallet?

You are lucky. There is a "Buy 2 Get One for Free" offer right now on https://buytrezor.com/

Is this automatically done or do you have to use a code or something? This is only available to be bought in Bitcoin right?

Wait, if my 24 word seed can bring back my coins, doesn't that mean my private keys are held somewhere?
That's why it's called a seed and not a passphrase. Your keys come from the seed and your seed can clone them if they are lost.

How does it know how to clone it?

What if I make 4 other accounts on my trezor.
I don't know what you mean by account. The Trezor doesn't contain accounts. It contains a wallet filled with addresses. The website has your account. The Trezor can only load one wallet at a time
If you lose your Trezor you will want to clone the wallet from the seed so you at least get your bitcoins back. You have to do that yourself.

There's is a "account" moniker in the key derivation scheme.

All accounts are derived from the seed.

Interesting choice of monikers. Very bank. Cannotes third party security. Most clients use the term wallet. Why did you choose account?

Other coins, for instance, Monero, are also using the term "account" instead of "wallet", for various practical reasons.

not "also", bip44 isn't using 'account' instead of 'wallet':

It's unfortunate that they called it account, because it connotes with bank account.... but, a bank account is really a bank deposit account. Account really means some numbers that you track, and deposit means that you have given your money away. So it is not really bad to call it an account (as in BIP-0032). Gives us a splendid pretext to argue what an account really is, and what a deposit really is.

I think 'account' is a good choice of term. Doesn't associate with banking as much as with bookkeeping (accounting) in my mind. The term is more general than 'bank account'.

Someone mentioned above people might mix up a bip44 account with an account at some web-site or other service. I think that risk is low.
