FYX’s CEO Adam Kling told The Esports Journal in April that he envisions esports looking like “online poker on steroids,” given the potential of real-money gaming at a grassroots level. Ultimately, blockchain could improve competitive integrity and security in esports and, as Kling sees it, “democratise esports”.

This has been told already last month in an article. The future of E-Sports will use cryptocurrency as long as the technology evolves. However, they did not mention the exact date of making it happen. It may not become true, or the other way around, no one knows. But this is pretty exciting, because pool prices will become more bigger if the bets is going to be fixed in cryptocurrency like Bitcoin and not in fiat.
We are progressing as the years passing by and its no surprise that we are seeing currently on whats been offered./

Dota and WoW have been popular amongst teens and young people for as long as I can remember, so considering that eSports betting has existed for a long time already, I think the number of involved players we see now is at its peak. Moreover, it seems to me that these games are becoming even less popular these days than it was before. At least that's what I've seen, maybe I'm wrong about this.

The boom of MMORPGs started during the time of early 2000-2010s where every kid visited computer shops and cafeteria to play with friends. Nowadays, with the development of technology, most kids have migrated towards playing with people from their houses (especially this pandemic).

The problem with most MMORPGs today is that, every game has been recycled all throughout. No innovation as to questing (typical "kill 5 slimes") and the experience nowadays with new MMORPGs have been stale. I do hope that in the future, new games would introduce new systems in order to be innovative and stay on track.
True. There isn't more innovation nowadays. All new games follow the same patterns of previous classic successes of the industry. Besides graphical improvements I can't see anything else between old and new games. And depending the game I would say the old ones were a lot more beautiful in shapes and aesthetics than the currently ones.

Anyway esports have more to do with hypes than the quality of the games itself. Doesn't matter how good the games are going to be, in some years this gambling category is going to be much more popular, since the children and youngs of nowadays don't have money to gamble, but after they start working and living by themselves it will be possible for them to become esports enthusiasts.

Exactly, Esports betting with the crypto (especially Bitcoin) has been growing these days.
Actually, we can find out some esports gambling on several sites.
Isn't Sportsbet.io and if it's not mistaken stake.com also provides the Esport gambling?
Yes, they added it to their service. I think in this pandemic is where it really had the spotlight. Playing tournaments at the safety of your own home and even playing with different players in different countries with just the internet connection needed.
Surely, online gambling platforms have the stats on why they would add it to their lists and it is given that more players are patronizing this type of games.
The amount of gamblers with Esports is still not that high, and they might not even equal sports betting but its a good start.
I actually envy those who can make something doing what they love, if ever this happened back in my days, oh I'll be damned.

Poker, Dice betting, and Casino games are in the gambling market for a long time but when do you think Esport betting such as  League of Legends and Dota became popular.

League of legends especially..., was released in 2009 the same year bitcoin was released in both are different but have progressed a lot finance-wise.

Do you think Esports betting has a good scope in the future where most of the teens are getting into games like LoL and world of warcraft, Dota, etc?
Even if they don't hear this in ads they will most likely hear it from their in-game teammates.

The playroom will develop. New streams of ideas appear systematically. This season, blockchain / nft games began to actively develop.

If teenagers place a bet on that game, I am afraid that sooner or later, they can become addicted people in gambling.
That's why Casinos have an age limit regulation on who's can bet on their website, even though it can still be abused but at least they are trying to reduce teenagers or those who are not yet mature to gamble.
Nah, I am not sure the casino will know if their members are not below 18 years old because if it is about online casinos, young people below 18 years can visit the casino without anyone knows because they can play in their room.
Age limitation regulation can not 100% apply in the online casino since young people can easily trick their ages so they can play gambling, especially if their favorite games are in that casino.

If teenagers place a bet on that game, I am afraid that sooner or later, they can become addicted people in gambling.

That is something we can't blame on Esports. Regardless of any situation, they will still be exposed to gambling no matter what.

ESports games aren't just the thing they will encounter in gambling but some of them might also follow sports and big leagues like NBA, NFL, Boxing, MMA, or their local leagues on which they also placing a bet. Teens nowadays are lurking on the internet so gambling is just the common activity they will face on the web. It will now depend on them if they will fall addicted to gambling or remain responsible.

Back when the internet is not that bloom, there are lots of gambling events here in our place about ESports (although the term Esports is not that popular). Counter-Strike, Half-Life, Starcraft, Broodwars and NBA 2K series are some of the popular ones. Even the Gran Turismo, NFS, Crash Bandicoot in Playstation 1 becomes a tournament too before.
Yes, we can not blame Esports as they only serve the entertainment to people and people themselves decide to want to play the games or they will play without money involved.
But with the big prizes offers to the winner can attract attention from people, especially young generation to join in that competition and trying to win the games.
It will be up to them to join in that competition but hopefully, teenagers will know that gambling is not good for their ages, especially if they do not have control over themselves.
I saw those games available on the Playstation 1 and they do not use money with their friends unless they make a deal with their friend to use money and will be for the winners.

but when do you think Esport betting such as  League of Legends and Dota became popular.

It's been a while now since online bookies, fiat and crypto, list a betting market for that kind of game. Their popularity is now big and the proof of that is the growing betting market on it.

Do you think Esports betting has a good scope in the future where most of the teens are getting into games like LoL and world of warcraft, Dota, etc?

Even without the participation of teens, it will have a good future in betting. Some gamblers are also putting Esports on their list as one of their target to bet.

Esports has a bright future and gambling within it will be huge.

Betting on esports is not new and actually for quite long time there are several sportsbook offering that to their bettors here https://bitwin.io/esports/ obviously some of listed sites are scams or unknown so stay focus on the top sites who has good reputation here so that you enjoy your betting experience on the Esports team you like. Esports scene is rising so there's no doubt that the market will increase year by year since we are now on digital ages and many are now adopting the huge changes towards this multi million dollar industry.

Esports is the talk of the town now for years. From small events, tournaments, and competition, they now finally sustain to manage a big one and expect that more big events are coming on the way and more additional games will be added.

The best part of this is, there are companies that support the event. They donated some money to the prize pool for every event that's why it becomes big. If big companies will continue to support the industry, it will be bigger in the future.

You are outdated, OP. Esports gambling is currently on the rise therefore you can conclude it has a better future.

Organizers successfully established numerous big Esports events with a huge prize pool before making it catching the attention of even not a gamer. It's because the gambling market is big and some gamblers want to test if they can ride the hype of gambling there. Now especially that teens staying only at home during pandemic, betting on Esports becomes one of their usual hobbies as most sports are suspended last year.

they became popular when the esport betting arrived because dota and l.o.l are invented many years ago but until now there is still a demand for these two games but if in the future ?
i am not sure with that since there are now many new games that are gaining momentum but one thing is for sure and that is esports betting is going to stay for us .
Well I think the Dota game is being pioneered in most esports games that gamble using crypto and are followed by those most popular games now.
However, as of now, there are tons of games that promote cryptocurrencies and followed by NFT games that are very trending now. Esports really bring attention to everyone and most of them are young people who commonly like online games and since cryptos are very easy to use to gamble, they are very common now. When a pandemic comes everything seems to rely online on and Esports arise and as you can see also crypto arise.

ESports betting was always a thing before these online betting platforms came.
I could still recall, Dota2 tournaments used to have rare, legendary, and mythical items to bet on their favourite teams in-game.
Now, crypto related ESports betting has been going on for quite a long time already. In fact there were several crypto gambling platform that opens a line for this kind of betting.

Maybe you're not totally aware of it, or you mean something else.
If you are not a gambler then you wont really be that aware on how this market had progressed over the years and its really been a while where crypto sports books do offer esports betting specially into

those popular online games like Dota 2, Valorant, CSGO etc. is already been a while on this market and its clear that op itself isn't really that much of aware of its existence

or simply he isn't really that much of a gambler. They've been offered for a while now and its impossible for someone on this forum wont notice it.

Just give it a little bit of time and you are bound to see this kind of betting become extremely popular during the next years and decades, after all people love to bet on the games they played as kids which is why sport betting is so popular because we love to see what the best of the best can do when they play those games, and this is true for this as well, however it is not something that can happen so quickly because it has been less than 10 years in which people have been able to do this professionally, so give it some time before this happens.

Of course, this question is already outdated because eSports has established itself as a staple for some sports betting sites already and even before the fame of eSports, a lot of people have already been gambling with some online games through LAN games where there's a pot money.
