Poker, Dice betting, and Casino games are in the gambling market for a long time but when do you think Esport betting such as  League of Legends and Dota became popular.

League of legends especially..., was released in 2009 the same year bitcoin was released in both are different but have progressed a lot finance-wise.

Do you think Esports betting has a good scope in the future where most of the teens are getting into games like LoL and world of warcraft, Dota, etc?
Even if they don't hear this in ads they will most likely hear it from their in-game teammates.

It's already a huge market.

I don't think that there is too much uncertainty that the esports market is going to simply continue to expand its dominance. Especially after this pandemic period, esports growth has far outpaced any traditional sport growth due to restrictions.

As others have said, I think that bookies would be pretty dumb to not take advantage of this trend, and offer markets in LoL, Dota, CSGO etc. if they aren't already.

The only question there is, is if the market on eSport betting will become as big or surpass the one on the traditional sports. and if it will, it is only a matter of when.

The market has already become big, far from before and I projected will be a lot big in the future. That's why ESports becomes the talk of the town, especially with the big prize pool in history, lots of sponsorship, big partnerships, and big plan for the future. Aside from the big events, there are also local events now organizing Esports events which also have a good prize pool.

Read here some awesome information on how's Esports market is expected to become big: Global Esports Betting Market Expected to Exceed $205 Billion By 2027

ESports is already popular and I assume eSports betting odds are available in all major betting platforms. I used to bet heavily on eSports and I didn't find it hard to look for odds in top crypto betting sites like Sportsbet, Nitrogen, Cloudbet, and so on. Especially Dota II, it's very popular and has the largest prize pool in all of eSports history, surpassing $40 million in the upcoming TI 10 in Romania.

It's just that eSports is highly niche-based. It cannot be compared to the likes of soccer, basketball, tennis, and other sports.

Deffinitely, as new generation emerges they will be more likely be exposed to eSports games/tournaments and will become a possible eSport betting gambler as they grow old. The only question there is, is if the market on eSport betting will become as big or surpass the one on the traditional sports. and if it will, it is only a matter of when.

I think the Axie game might turn into an esports because they said the team is developing it to become a strategy game which could become an eSport too.

World of Warcraft and Dota had been around for years but because those gamers are not converted into crypto users, the adoption to esports is very slow. But with the rise of Axie, many gamers might just be interested.

Lol, it's my dream to become part of their marketing team. People love games similar of Dota and in this niche, as I know it's the leader with enormous prizes. The reason of why League of legends become so popular, beside the game/story, etc is that they have amazing marketing team and adorable marketing strategy.
They hired imagine dragons to write new top song Warriors exclusively for Riot. They did songs with collaborating other singers (and by owning their own team/studio), thigs like Legends never die, phoenix, rise, etc.

They are very innovative, I think we should expect something crypto related from them.

I actually think that it's a matter of time before esports is the new dominant category in the sportsbetting industry.

Traditional sports are simply not as exciting to the new generations anymore, and people are able to be more hands on with esports as they can take part with greater ease compared to traditional sports which require significant equipment needs.

Definitely an area that sportsbooks need to capitalize on right now. Competition is scarce as well since most of the crypto esportsbooks have very low limits.

The answer is obviously, yes.

We have noticed the growth of it from just a simple and mini-tournament to a big and huge event with some big sponsorship too. Actually, even without Esports Betting, teens nowadays will really expose to any games. Just imagined before, especially within 2000s, online computer games are hyped such as World of Warcraft 1, Starcraft, Red Alert, Counter-Strike, games like that attract many teens and even adults. With the evolution of technology today where people are mostly lurking on their gadgets, encountering Esports games can't really avoid so it's just a matter if people will play it or not.

Once the pandemic eased, we can now see again an alive and full power venue of an Esports event.

Dont know on where you do came from or totally you arent a gambler after all. Its been a long time that there are bookies offering these esports and make out bets of them.

https://sportsbet.io/sports/betsy
Gg.bet
Loot.bet
etc..

You could see lots of choices if you wanted to. Its just a matter of some effort on making some simple search.

if i may add, stake.com also has esports in their list : dota2, LoL, counterstrike

I wouldn't recommend stake, they use 3rd party bookmakers to place your bets recently there were some users had their bet void because they placed the bet in the same game on another website that used the same Bookmaker.

Anyway, I enjoyed watching last LCS and think about placing some bets in LoL.

But I created Thread to know if the Esport betting with Crypto started with LoL, CoD or there were online bettings going on before bitcoin came.

you can also find these in other sportsbooks here, so those are already out there, waiting to be tapped by new crypto bettors on esports

now, just remember upon registration, some sites will ask if you are over 18 yrs old. so better check their ToS first because it may create trouble in the future. good if the bookie is not requiring any kyc info.

As far as I know, esports betting is already popular among gamblers. There are sites that allow users to place bets on different games. They use in game items that has values or skins to place those bets. If i remember correctly, valve had issues with those people that were gambling with steam items. There are also crypto sportsbook that allows you to place bets using crypto currencies.

Are teens even allowed to gamble?

It is already in the scene and mainstream lately. With those professional teams, they got most of their sponsors from the bookies. So the tendency, their fans have the idea of what their sponsors are, bookies.

It's been so long that esports has been tied with gambling and there are many crypto bookies that have always included their matches so for the teens, they're aware and as well as at the same time, they're also becoming open about cryptocurrencies due to the P2E features by NFT projects. So the scope of gambling and esports is wide not just in the future but it's happening today.
