Liquid and VG to win their first match https://i.ibb.co/sRx68Qd/ez.png (EDIT* peru dota again, wtf)
and then
Finally managed to get a nice double:

Now still waiting for Vici gaming to win 2:0 against TNC. I must admit Vici looked good in all the games I watched them. They usually have a bit weaker start of the map and then they turn it around mid game.

I will bet 3 maps for OG vs VP  and amazing VP is now rank 9 but I think OG can hold them off for 1 map perhaps.   Copenhagen Flames vs Havu I would guess Havu but CF just won their map pick, if odds spike maybe look again.

Amazing match between EG and Heroic.     Great to watch hard to call and not an ideal bet besides 3 maps, Heroic did an amazing job here regardless of the result.   I will watch them more closely in future as a good upset team, they very nearly had this despite being not perfect the confidence they have to keep coming back and challenging for the win is not something every team can maintain some just collapse too easily on being upset when the victory slips or the rounds turn against them a team can turn on itself.  Not getting round wins and that immediate reinforcement in positive feedback can cause some players to react badly, Heroic deserve respect.

The last series of the wild card is funny, Secret vs IG. IG takes the first game(Bo2) and if ever Secret will win on game 2, both of them are eliminated. Team Secret is officially eliminated as they've lost the first game so it's up to Secret, if they win game 2 then both of them (IG) will be out and then Nigma will proceed to the group stages.
the last few hours of the wild card were so weird lol the whole Nigma - Secret and Valve drama, then IG destroying Secret, and then Nigma deletes IG out of the server in the tiebreaker...just wild

Anyhow I'll take Ancient as something of a wild card factor in betting, I havent yet seen any team has some definite advantage on it above their normal ranking from practice or any tactics but it can happen.  Im told it wont be in the next major but I actually think it might, would be good drops.
i was looking forward to more teams playing in ancient. But seems like FPX are the only team that are comfortable playing there. They are 2-0 in this map after beating astralis and g2. Same map pick today? who knows, but i already booked FPX - COL over 2.5 https://i.ibb.co/F5KsxF6/over.png

IEM Summer just started! Astralis - FPX are playing in Ancient

I love that a new map is in, that used to be a normal thing in CS that new maps came in.   As we originally had none or many not that suitable that was originally a large part of the game to learn new maps.   Dust2 I think should have been retired years ago but so long as someone likes it then its kept and all the major teams apparently prefer it to the alternatives but I like that the devs keep trying to find something better.

IEM Summer just started! Astralis - FPX are playing in Ancient  Shocked  it's likely that we see this map a few more times today since all the matches will be BO1

for the AniMajor i have Secret - Nigma (DRAW) and VG - IG (DRAW). I got stuck in the win-lose-win-lose kind of loop yesterday so didn't make any profits ):

I watched some of the games in the Dota2 Animajor today and so far it looks like the EU-Teams are not as dominant anymore as they used to be.
i'm gonna be extremely dissapointed if none of them makes it to the next round, but to be fair, this round was stacked with good team, so...

After all those draws yesterday i'm going for a value bet this time which is Execration to take one map @2.63 vs Team Secret (was able to grab this one early before it moved down to 2.3) if they could take a map off IG then they should be able to get one against Secret and i'm amazed at how well they've bounced back after every game 1 loss. Expecting another draw here since Team Secret doesn't look that convincing after splitting maps between Gambit and VG.

I have taken opposite direction today and went with Secret win and Vici win. I am expecting all those top teams to buckle up and start working on securing their T1 spot, time is running out and they have to start winning these games.

Small stake only though, I am nowhere near sure enough of the outcome to go big Smiley My high stake bets go towards tennis in RG.

I watched some of the games in the Dota2 Animajor today and so far it looks like the EU-Teams are not as dominant anymore as they used to be. The EU-Region was always considered as the strongest Dota 2 region and Team secret dominated there for the past year or so and now they only managed to get 2 draws ouf the first 2 matches. Also nigma did not look very good against Invictus gaming even though they were ahead of them for a long time in the second match but still couldn't win it. OG isn't even taking part in the animajor.

I watched the match between Execration and Vici Gaming. The series tied 1-1 and all of the games made by XCTN got tied, all 1-1 in standing. I think that I'm impressed by them and other fans that have watched their games.

I thought that they'll easily be beaten by the other teams on the wild card seeds but they've proved me wrong and I think the others too. If ever they'll get into the next stage or group stage, they'll be considered as the dark horse but as of the moment, it's the No Ping Esports but they're at the playoffs seed. XCTN has to win both of their upcoming series against Nigma and Team Secret but that would be hard IMHO.

I've updated the Calendar in the OP! Check it out to see the upcoming tournaments in the top esports

Day 1 of WePlay Animajor. First ticket of the day:

waching this game right now...very close so far with Miracle popping off. edit* ah that's the old nigma i know. 2k gold lead in 36min, then miracle, iLTW and gh all three deleted by void and doom and VG snowballs out of control and wins at the 55min with a 65k gold lead...ok

Does that mean that there was no direct invite to them? That's pretty sad and good at the same time, sad because fans won't see what OG has up their sleeves that they will try to use to win a threepeat, and good because it means that we can see another champion besides OG.
there's potential in the team with ana back in the active roster so they are favorites to win the qualifiers. Gonna be hard, but it's OG so don't count them out just yet (:

unfotunately for OG, winning TI back-to-back isn't enough to qualify to the next edition, the only way to qualify is with dpc points or winning the regional qualifiers.

Not a fan of the best of two formats but good thing bookies are offering draw no bet markets. I got Vici Gaming @1.4 vs Team Nigma as my first pick, nothing too crazy just testing the waters since I still have doubts on Team Nigma and Vici remains consistent throughout both seasons. Also the odds on their next game is somewhat tempting since Secret is on that downward trend.

The only way they can qualify right now to TI, is if they will be invited to participate in the event (special entry). It is not in the rule book or anything but they are hoping if that will happen as they are the reigning champions.
I do not think that they'll have that special entry. Maybe if Valve does, they can surprise the world and have them direct invite if they will not be able to get into the TI qualifier. The decision is in hands of Valve if OG will be beaten through that qualifier.
There's no last hope but only that qualifier so if Valve gives meaning a lot for OG, they'll have their own rule that shall be announced and give them the special treatment. But it was stated already before by Valve that they're going with the rules and that's why there were majors and minors but OG didn't qualify for those.

Nip put on a very good performance from what I saw, mouse slightly more consistent but a good 3 maps bet paid off.
that was an underwhelming final, wasn't it? Ovp was great but Mouz dismantled NiP in the next two maps
Mouz finished last place in the ESL Pro League back in march. Two months later they won flashpoint and secured 1600 rmr points. Impressive!

anyway, small break in t1 CSGO until IEM Summer next thursday.

also starting this week: some dota action with the WePlay AniMajor...looks like my wallet's gonna take a small break too before the big tournaments start (:

Not many good matches today but i'll give this one a try, Sinners to win @1.8 vs Sprout.

Both teams look pretty even in terms of firepower but I think Sinners have the better form recently and h2h also leaning on Sinners winning 5/7 maps.

Edit: Close maps but Sinners takes the series 2-0.  Cheesy

Nip put on a very good performance from what I saw, mouse slightly more consistent but a good 3 maps bet paid off.   Hyenas doing a giant upset there 90 rank difference is not common but its partly from them being new to form, bodes well for them in future again they did good execution from what I saw.

I saw that Furia are now odds 12.5 to 1 to win which is fair I guess as they have to now win the next 3 maps having just lost the last 2 and vs a team previously number 1 in the world.   Not so easy but they have had a close game vs Liquid previously so anything can happen.   Next map and possibly the last in the series is not their pick and also not a map they win in a specially high percentage, so I've taken the 12.5x bet and used it to hedge into a bet on Liquid to win this next map for the bo5 series.

Liquid lose the first round great, helps odds but they are able to buy 2 AK47 anyway on 2nd round which is just bad rule set csgo now has imo - they die anyhow.
