I've updated the Calendar in the OP! Check it out to see the upcoming tournaments in the top esports

Day 1 of WePlay Animajor. First ticket of the day:

waching this game right now...very close so far with Miracle popping off. edit* ah that's the old nigma i know. 2k gold lead in 36min, then miracle, iLTW and gh all three deleted by void and doom and VG snowballs out of control and wins at the 55min with a 65k gold lead...ok

Does that mean that there was no direct invite to them? That's pretty sad and good at the same time, sad because fans won't see what OG has up their sleeves that they will try to use to win a threepeat, and good because it means that we can see another champion besides OG.
there's potential in the team with ana back in the active roster so they are favorites to win the qualifiers. Gonna be hard, but it's OG so don't count them out just yet (:

unfotunately for OG, winning TI back-to-back isn't enough to qualify to the next edition, the only way to qualify is with dpc points or winning the regional qualifiers.

Not a fan of the best of two formats but good thing bookies are offering draw no bet markets. I got Vici Gaming @1.4 vs Team Nigma as my first pick, nothing too crazy just testing the waters since I still have doubts on Team Nigma and Vici remains consistent throughout both seasons. Also the odds on their next game is somewhat tempting since Secret is on that downward trend.

The only way they can qualify right now to TI, is if they will be invited to participate in the event (special entry). It is not in the rule book or anything but they are hoping if that will happen as they are the reigning champions.
I do not think that they'll have that special entry. Maybe if Valve does, they can surprise the world and have them direct invite if they will not be able to get into the TI qualifier. The decision is in hands of Valve if OG will be beaten through that qualifier.
There's no last hope but only that qualifier so if Valve gives meaning a lot for OG, they'll have their own rule that shall be announced and give them the special treatment. But it was stated already before by Valve that they're going with the rules and that's why there were majors and minors but OG didn't qualify for those.

Nip put on a very good performance from what I saw, mouse slightly more consistent but a good 3 maps bet paid off.
that was an underwhelming final, wasn't it? Ovp was great but Mouz dismantled NiP in the next two maps
Mouz finished last place in the ESL Pro League back in march. Two months later they won flashpoint and secured 1600 rmr points. Impressive!

anyway, small break in t1 CSGO until IEM Summer next thursday.

also starting this week: some dota action with the WePlay AniMajor...looks like my wallet's gonna take a small break too before the big tournaments start (:

Not many good matches today but i'll give this one a try, Sinners to win @1.8 vs Sprout.

Both teams look pretty even in terms of firepower but I think Sinners have the better form recently and h2h also leaning on Sinners winning 5/7 maps.

Edit: Close maps but Sinners takes the series 2-0.  Cheesy

Nip put on a very good performance from what I saw, mouse slightly more consistent but a good 3 maps bet paid off.   Hyenas doing a giant upset there 90 rank difference is not common but its partly from them being new to form, bodes well for them in future again they did good execution from what I saw.

I saw that Furia are now odds 12.5 to 1 to win which is fair I guess as they have to now win the next 3 maps having just lost the last 2 and vs a team previously number 1 in the world.   Not so easy but they have had a close game vs Liquid previously so anything can happen.   Next map and possibly the last in the series is not their pick and also not a map they win in a specially high percentage, so I've taken the 12.5x bet and used it to hedge into a bet on Liquid to win this next map for the bo5 series.

Liquid lose the first round great, helps odds but they are able to buy 2 AK47 anyway on 2nd round which is just bad rule set csgo now has imo - they die anyhow.

Taking Mousesports to win the grand finals @1.66 vs NiP, banking on ropz and frozen to pop off once last time.

The upset potential is always there on the side of NiP since device and rez could go god mode at any given day but I feel like they're overperforming with all of their reverse sweep wins.

Also what do you guys have for today?
Same bet for me. Mousesports have been excellent in winning most important rounds and I expect them to continue in same fashion today. I had them as a double with Team Spirit which just finished 2:1 in their favor.

I also have over 2.5 maps on Astralis game but that is on a low stake ticket where another pick has already started very wrong so probably not gonna matter.

Nip are a good prospect but I dont see excellent odds.  I'd agree with mouse based on the amount of times they have won in 2 maps which means they won their enemies map pick frequently.   Anyone who really likes Nip here should predict 2-1 result and thats near 4 to 1 odds.   I'm really not sure I will go for >2.5 maps just for fun

I dont see an upset potential for Big over Astralis, their map pick is Dust2 vs Astralis I wouldn't expect that though its Big's best map perhaps Im still not aware how they'd pull that off besides luck.

I am so much hoping to see Furia play Liquid on Vertigo. Small map but it is really lovely to see how crazy art goes agressively there. Always enjoyed Furia playing on Vertigo.
one of the best matches i've watched this month. What a series! add to that the caster with the banter and the jokes...10/10, would watch again

we could see a rematch in the final tomorrow IF furia can beat Extremum. I'll back Furia again if they meed Liquid again (:

Yeah really a sensational one. I could also say the same for me about the best CS game I watched for sometime now. Normally it would be one sided but that match was woo...evenly matched and nail biting one.

I didn't put focus on casters... But I watched the highlights...seems like Harry to me...if yes then yeah he is really the best caster.

BTW Nip vs G2 wasn't that bad either.

Entropiq vs Hyenas is a funny one, the lesser team is rank 100 but I recognise most of the names; they play a team at rank 15 which should not result in a win.   They are players from teams not in operation now so not likely to have as much experience working together but still they could be a good underdog bet.
I dont really recognize the rank 15 team, just havent seen them really.  So its a risky low bet for me, I'll go with 3 maps see what happens.   Odds for Hyena is as much as 6 to 1 so its a value thing.

big day in CS tomorrow with 3 grand finals: flashpoint, CIS league and cs_summit

Mousesports - NIP.  Mouz haven't dropped a map so far but notice how close those wins were in their map picks: 16-11 in Nuke vs. BIG, 16-12 in Ovp vs. Astralis, 16-13 in Nuke vs. G2...do i smell value in Map handicap and total rounds over 26.5? hmm 🤔

I am so much hoping to see Furia play Liquid on Vertigo. Small map but it is really lovely to see how crazy art goes agressively there. Always enjoyed Furia playing on Vertigo.

right now OG are out cos they don't have enough dpc points to reach the top 12 dpc ranking, but, as @batang_bitcoin said above, they'll participate in the TI western EU qualifiers. They need to win that to qualify automatically to TI
I don't think that they need the DPC points to qualify for The International since they are already the champion of the previous TI so they are automatically qualified, if they weren't qualified, they would have taken the DPC season seriously.
They don't, because there's a reset during the pandemic and that's why there were majors and minors that were the tournaments needed to gain DPC points.
The rules have changed and they're not automatically qualified, check this link for which teams have already qualified the points of other teams needed to at least get a secured slot in this upcoming TI.
Qualified: https://liquipedia.net/dota2/The_International/2021
DPC points: https://liquipedia.net/dota2/Dota_Pro_Circuit/2021/Rankings
On the DPC points list, OG is #34 which is far from the qualifying DPC points needed for a secured slot.

The only way they can qualify right now to TI, is if they will be invited to participate in the event (special entry). It is not in the rule book or anything but they are hoping if that will happen as they are the reigning champions.

[VALORANT]

Sentinels are the winner for upper bracket in the VCT Masters Reykjavik. They are now waiting for their finals opponent coming from the lower bracket.

Right now, Team liquid and fanatic are fighting for a spot to face Nuturn Gaming. Both TL and FNC are from EU and Nuturn is from Kr.

Going for Team [email protected] as my pick of the day, I really like their odds since VP's form is slowly falling off losing against weaker teams while Team Spirit's is on the opposite side with a better form.

Also i'm surprised to see Akuma guarantee at least third place in the tournament, tempted to take their +1.5 handicap or maybe the first map round handicap.

Edit : Rip VP edging out Spirit once again.  Lips sealed

i also have FURIA moneyline at 2. This could be a close series, ovp or vertigo could go to Liquid, but FURIA have been crazy good on Inferno lately and imo they have the edge on mrg or nuke, either map could be the decider

I am so much hoping to see Furia play Liquid on Vertigo. Small map but it is really lovely to see how crazy art goes agressively there. Always enjoyed Furia playing on Vertigo. As for G2 vs NIP, feels like NIP win and close one to me but will be packed with crazy plays for sure.

as expected, Device and Rez with the carry against Heroic.

G2 - NIP will be another banger. Going with this as my main ticket today

i'll keep an eye out on the total rounds market. Their last match was one hell of a close series (16-12, 17-19, 16-14). It's very likely that we'll see the same maps today (d2, inf, mrg) so i see good value in the Over 25.5 and 26.5 rounds
I'm on that over pick as well since both of them seems to be on another level as they were able to take down Heroic in a 2-1 fashion.

Hopefully they take their map pick with ease and leaning on G2 to win the decider so they could book a rematch with mousesports.  Cheesy
Damn I am on over as well, never like it when we all pick the same market and outcome, those game tend to end in bookies favor more often than not. Hopefully this time it will be different.
