Definitely possible that Ethereum could surge past Bitcoin, especially considering the drop in supply and it being less inflationary now.

But In 2023, it's difficult to say exactly what the market will look like at that point. However, based on current trends, it's likely that the cryptocurrency market will continue to grow and evolve. I may see the emergence of new technologies and platforms, as well as increased regulation from governments.

I think, it's always a bit unpredictable with these markets, but I think there's a chance that Ethereum could reach new all-time highs like you mentioned. So, you might not be wrong at all, but you know, only time will tell!

Can Ethereum surge past Bitcoin in this upcoming Bull Market? The supply has dropped a lot and it's no more inflationary, I think with this, Ethereum will make a new all-time high we have never seen before, do you think I am wrong?
According to Coinmarketcap the total supply of Ethereum has reached 120 million coins,
but we don't know what will happen in the future because Ethereum is also currently using the PoS algorithm where validators will also be very important,
maybe the total supply of Ethereum can also increase in the coming year.

Whether Ethereum can surpass Bitcoin in a bull market is difficult to answer with certainty. However, it can be seen that Ethereum is on a strong track in both technology and investor concerns. This could be a sign that Ethereum may overtake Bitcoin in the future. With a decrease in supply and no more inflation, this could help create more momentum for Ethereum's price increase in the near-term. However, whether the market goes up or down is very unpredictable and depends on many factors. So I cannot claim that you are wrong or right in your opinion.

I think the deflationary talk is just another pumpalogy to allow people to keep believing in Ethereum, I don't see how this is going to have an effect on the price long term, there are a lot of projects in the space offering what Ethereum doesn't have especially the L2 and I can foresee in future when these L2 have moved to Beta, they will stop using Ethereum for gas but will opt for their own tokens.
If nothing made you believe into ETH then this will not be the one that will. This is a smaller reason for ETH to go up and I agree that it is not the main reason why it would be, hence if you do not believe that ETH will be higher and stay at second position, then look at the rate will not change anything for you at all.

However, for those of us who think that this will do better, I think this is a good reason and should not be ignored, I believe in ETH anyway, so this doesn't even matter. Why do I believe in ETH? I believe in it because it has done so well so far and it has provided a lot of tokens as well, all those projects will want to prop up ETH whenever they can to make sure it does well so they can do well too.

This is not the only reason why ETH could perform better. I think it is important to remember that almost all the big name tokens came out under ETH, which means that ETH grows when the projects under it's umbrella grows as well. This is what happened in 2 big bull runs nowadays and I think it is going to continue to be like that for a while longer.

People are not entirely sure about the gas fee situation, we know that there are alternatives with better gas fee and maybe projects may not pick ETH anymore. But the fact is that this was true on the last one as well and yet everyone preferred ETH anyway, that should tell you something about the situation in the market and what people are willing to do for profit.

The higher the marketcap, the less chance of a coin to increase in price. Little amount of money pumped into low marketcap coin can result to high increase in the price of the coin.
-cut-
I would normally agree but when coin is deflationary it changes the rules with normal marketcap approach a little bit. Technically the coin amount reduces it can drop the marketcap while increasing the price. I am however uncertain if there are still more tokens burned then issued via staking it. But however i am certain that many coins and tokens out there doesn't have as sustainable and as well thought tokenomic game theory as eth.

I don't think that's ever going to happen in the market, because personally I'm picturing the whole market like a tree. And the roots of that tree can be compared to BTC, and the trunk represents the main blockchain platforms in the market, and the branches and leaves are the utility altcoins in this market.
So over time, no matter how big the tree is, it is impossible to ignore the important part of the roots to feed the whole tree.

Can Ethereum surge past Bitcoin in this upcoming Bull Market?
It seems difficult to go beyond bitcoin prices because all altcoin prices are based on bitcoin prices.

Whether Ethereum will surpass Bitcoin in the upcoming bull market is difficult to say for sure. It's important to remember, though, that over the past few years.
Ethereum has been steadily overtaking Bitcoin in terms of market capitalization and adoption.
Just monitor Bitcoin's dominance because it may help you to identify the next move of Ethereum, remember that Ethereum got a huge dominance over other altcoins.

It depends on what you mean by that, if you mean that ethereum could grow at a faster pace than bitcoin then that could be a possibility, but if you are implying that ethereum could take the place of bitcoin as the best coin in this market then I will tell you I do not think that is ever going to happen, while many people are happy about the transition ethereum made to proof of stake I can tell you many others are not happy about it, as this made ethereum a centralized altcoin not worth to compete to bitcoin anymore.

the thing with ethereum, it could have the risk of its market capitalization being eaten up by the L2s, the presence of L2 are like a proof that ethereum just simply couldn't solve their own problems. it could literally become double edged sword.
moreover right now attention of the people are not fixated on ethereum anymore. just see the L2s statistic in their price chart the recent days they all increasing massively despite the fact that they've got some massive airdrops their value still retains quite good actually.

I don't care if Ethereum surpasses Bitcoin or not, it doesn't matter much because I am here for the gains I could make out of these coins instead of wanting to see them perform better than the others, bitcoin will remain in the first rank on coinmarketcap no matter how many billions a project gets with its marketcap, whales and retail investors always go for Bitcoin first because they understand better.

I don't know why some people are bent on seeing Ethereum surpass Bitcoin on the CMC, forgetting that there are other tokens lower in the CMC that also have the potential to surpass Ether, BNB has more potential to surpass Ethereum than Ethereum surpassing BTC. All these L2s will drive away value from Ethereum, just look at what happened with other Ethereum killers in the last bull market, Polygon, Avax, Luna, Solana, BNB, Cardano, etc. all perform better than Ethereum, I believe the L2 will be the Ethereum Killers of this cycle and will perform far better than Ethereum.

Bull market will be big but I think Bitcoin will still be the leader of crypto market.
There's a lot of new good projects under ETH network, this could be the best chance for them to rise again so its good to buy some now while its still cheap. Though expect a correction with the market right now as most of the crypto can't surpass their current resistance level, this could be your chance now to buy. ETH will make its new ATH, same thing with Bitcoin so there's no need to compare here, have both as much as possible.

In theory, I and you both believe that ETH will reach new ATHs in the future, but the issue of comparing it to BTC is, I think, unnecessary because in my opinion BTC will forever hold its current position in the future. the market no matter how many other things appear, BTC will not lose its essence of representing the entire market.
Although recent improvements are making ETH stronger, remember that other competitors are also rising stronger.

Outperforming Bitcoin - This can be a daunting task for Ethereum as Bitcoin is the first and most famous cryptocurrency to have the highest market capitalization to date. However, Ethereum has unique advantages over Bitcoin, such as faster transactions and the ability to create smart contracts that can attract more users and investors.
With Ethereum's supply declining and offering more functionality than Bitcoin, this could be the catalyst for Ethereum's rise in the upcoming bull market. However, it should be noted that the cryptocurrency market is highly volatile and no one can predict the future with accuracy.

We all see that ETH is doing very well in the market, but from what you mentioned it seems to be an exaggeration. First of all, it is necessary to accept the fact that BTC will not have a competitor in the crypto market, and that the recent changes in ETH are very good things, I think ETH's position at the moment as well as in the future will always be maintained.

Soaring past bitcoin seems too much. When bitcoin can survive in a bearish bitcoin solid state it's extraordinary. Bitcoin goes up, ethereum also tends to go up, Ethereum follows the movement of Bitcoin. So to be able to outperform Bitcoin is still quite far. The main dominance is still owned by Bitcoin and Ethereum only has a few percent dominance. Just hope that Ethereum can reach a new ATH again when Bitcoin also reaches a new ATH.

Given the problem of deflation, I think bitcoin vs pow is the best place to fight inflation, which for me is still better than removing more focus on eth.
Deflation isn't a problem and what makes bitcoin as the best asset to fight inflation is due to its supply limit and rewards being cut in half on the miners through halving.

The trend of ETH will continue to depend on bitcoin.  ETH will still perform as well as it does now, but without having to depend on deflation and probably not.
It's true, it's still depending on bitcoin no matter how good the upgrades are. But for those that are not confident, then just take both of them on your portfolios.

That's the type of diversification that everyone should have because it's securing you. You've got bitcoin as it moves the market very well and you've got ETH to diversify since it's also one of the biggest market movers that we've got here.
