Has anyone experience ETH congestion right now? I am trying to send my USDT20 from Trust Wallet to another one at a suggested fee of 18 gwei, but the process is taking longer than expected. Also, I have received token for my work, but as what I have checked the Etherscan, it’s already more than 8 hours and status still pending on the blockchain, and gas price was 27 gwei.

Is there any way to cancel the Ethereum transaction and restart it by spending higher gas fee? Or is this normal during the congestion period?

If you send USDT from one wallet to another, it would be better if the fee used is standard. Because the USDT gas fee is quite high compared to other tokens. You can send it back without having to wait for the delivery process to be canceled or failed.

Currently, gas fees are relatively cheap, even though Fomo Ethereum has resulted in many transactions on the blockchain,
Gas is still well cheap, possibly because you haven't given a Gas limit during transactions,
now only 21-31 Gwei is already very smooth for transactions.

Now eth transactions are doing fine, speed is good and fee is reasonable as well but if the price keeps growing as expected we can see transaction fee again rising untill eth 2.0 mainnet goes live.

Ethereum Congestion is boosting to increase the Ethereum transaction cost. Always check the Ethereum GWEI before making any Ethereum transaction. I think for making urgent transactions, we should select the average Gwei cost. Always Ethereum Gwei cost is different, the only reason is Ethereum congestion. Transaction cost of Tron USDT coin is very low or zero.

With 27 gwei   i think it will take you about 1 second to make your ETH transaction.

In your case, first and foremost checking the status of a transaction in the network is very simple. You just need to go to the website https://etherscan.io/. Paste your address into the search box or go directly to the link: https://etherscan.io/address/.... then double check everything. And check if you are sending two transactions, which will also prevent your transaction from going through.

The situation has been the same for Bitcoin, the network is congested and a lot of people are complaining about the high fees they are paying for small transactions. This was the same for me when I sent money to someone this week, just $50 and the fees was high. I haven’t used Ethereum for transaction as of recent so I am not aware of that this same thing has been happening in the ETH network.

I saw a news today that the ETH devs said they are close to releasing the 2.0 and I believe thatwith the next version (2.0) we are going to see a better experience.

What?

I still get signals about ETH's transaction speed, i see people saying that it has improved over the time when DeFi exploded. With gas about 30 Gwei i think it only takes 10 seconds for that transaction and less than 1$ fee.

It's not congested, I mean my eth transactions went normally and smooth. I guess you have to contact your own wallet's support if you are the receiver. If the transaction said it's success, the receiver wallet may be the problem . The way I see it, Small gwei took slower transactions but as it was already success in a blockchain, you just have to further wait a little bit more and you'll gonna receive it soon.
Fee is not cheap as it used to be months ago but cheaper than 2 months ago when DeFi tokens and contracts make the fee on ERC20 chain rose too much.

ETH/ERC20 - Check and select good Gas price
[GUIDE] How to cancel or replace an ETH transaction (Metamask, MEW, MyCrypto)

Several sites to watch gas

https://ethgasstation.info/index.php
https://etherscan.io/gastracker
https://ethgasstation.info/calculatorTxV.php
https://www.gasnow.org/
https://ethgas.watch/

Nobody mention that this fee will be minimal at the moment because when you send a transaction to yourself, you need to use a minimal gas limit which is only 25000 gwei.

Stucked transactions occur almost always on very heavily used contracts where gas limits have to be set up much higher also. When we are interacting with very complicated contract or the transaction has to be routed between a few contracts, for example: ETH - wETH - GOLD - wallet, then it makes the gas limit go higher. This is the simplest way to exchange on Uniswap, which needs at least 150.000 gwei gas limit because less will be not successful.

Suggestion: I am using 1inch exchange. You can use their CHI token to lower significantly the ETH gas fees  Wink.
This is a DEX aggregator, so you have all Dex exchanges in one place.

https://1inch.exchange/

Another solution is new DEX nobody talks about called Honeyswap.org

https://honeyswap.org/#/swap

Uniswap clone made on XDAI which makes transactions cost 0.0003$ and there is no network congestion problem, additionally, this is also DEX aggregator.

I think we are seeing a big Uniswap competitor here  Wink.

I was suppose to overwrite as you said. But now it’s not pending anymore and marked “success”. But for the other one (which I’m the receiver), maybe I should contact him to overwrite. Is it not gonna double spend for sure right?

It is not stuck, you are too small to use gas and by the time you have made a transaction, the price of gas has gone up so that it causes delays. Now the lowest gas price is 55 gwei. You can make new deals with the bigger gwei and that will help.
He was using preferred gas but sometimes you will need a few seconds until minutes to be able to see your transaction gets confirmed. This is a common thing that's always happening in ethereum network. The block can't confirm it instantly.
it appears that you must patience wait a few minutes for that.

As far as I know there is no way to cancel the transaction if you have pressed the send button,
if you use Trust Wallet, the transaction fee should be automatically calculated by the system so that congestion will not occur,
if you change the settings my advice is to switch to automatic mode, or reinstall the Trust Wallet application.

Ethereum blockchain is great but this congestion of a thing can be really annoying especially when you are in a haste.
I did a transaction today and it was smooth. Normally, trust wallet sets high gas fee or rather trust wallet sets the appropriate gas fee to ensure the transaction goes smoothly, but for whatever reason and the transaction gets stuck and you need to cancel, just initiate another transactions but in this case do not touch the gas fee, let is be as set by trust wallet.
Also, just to add as well, Trust wallet also supports USDT on TRC 20 chain, and USDT transactions on TRC 20 is free; just in case of next time, you can try it, it is also faster.

Yesterday and today I made a transaction and everything was normal without finding a problem at all, even I always waited for the morning time because the gwei was always low. Even though wearing a low gwei I still had no problems

Myetherwallet.com has a guide for canceling or replacing the fee for your transaction. They have a step by step process and guide which you should do if something like this comes up. Read their article if it's helpful to you.

You simply have to check before you send how high are fees. It is same with BTC and ETH. Right now fees are not high. They were 10 times higher two months ago. But on the other hand are much higher as Ethereum developers were promising few years ago. A lot of projects that depend on low transaction fees were fucked up by Ethereum high fees that made their product useless.

I didn't know we can overwrite the previous transaction if it isn't yet pushing. Something new to me.

I managed to send in less than 10Minutes. Not clogged. 27 gwei is just too little for gas which is the reason for the slow transaction. The minimum gas for Metamask is 70 gwei and this isn't the priority transaction. I like metamask because they suggest whether you want to make the transaction faster or not.

The ETH network is not stuck, it only requires a large enough amount of GAS to make transactions go faster. GWEI reflects the needs of users, it is necessary to rationally calculate the transaction costs to achieve the desired speed. In your case, the GWEI 18 is too low and it doesn't fit in the queue, transactions with a higher GWEI will take precedence. Your transaction may have to wait a long time.

You can overwrite your transaction with a higher fee. It will automatically suspend the previous one if the second one proceed faster. However, I have never used trust wallet before so I have no idea what to deal with this problem. I think you can manually write a support form so as to recreate a new transaction.

Currently, there are high number of transactions on the network everyday since bitcoin has gained back its price and toward a new all time high. People might try to buy more ethereum and altcoins in order to be rich whenever the second pump comes

I was suppose to overwrite as you said. But now it’s not pending anymore and marked “success”. But for the other one (which I’m the receiver), maybe I should contact him to overwrite. Is it not gonna double spend for sure right?

It's not.

when you are overwriting transaction with zero fees that means you will be cancelling your old transaction.

when you are overwriting your transaction and replace it with higher fees that means you wanna pull it to be included into the priority transaction that will be confirmed by the block as soon as possible.

As a receiver, the same mechanism will be happening. As long as you are getting some confirmations on your tx and you will be fine. You should not feel worried about that.

The ETH network is not congested if you spend a good enough expense to send money quickly. Since the confirmation of transaction costs on the Ethereum network is done in the form of an auction so consult the GAS price first and adjust to an average rather than the lowest, which will ensure the transaction of you is sent out soon. Or you are not patient enough to increase the GAS price to a high above the recommended limit for the transaction to take place as quickly as possible.

Ethereum transactions gas fee is going up and down now. I think you selected the low gas price of your transaction or the gas price increased after your transaction. You can track ethereum gas fee below. https://etherscan.io/gastracker

Is there any way to cancel the Ethereum transaction and restart it by spending higher gas fee? Or is this normal during the congestion period?
Yes. You can cancel the previous transaction and restart it by spending higher gas fee.
This is not the normal duration of your transaction. I use Ethereum network today. It's seems all correct to me.
