if ethereum successfully upgraded to eth 2.0 maybe ethereum prices could go up to 200-320 $ or more because eth upgrade is a big news that everyone is waiting , so it can make people buy eth and this will make eth prices go up
in my opinion in 2020 eth prices go up high because ethereum has big news in 2020 that ethereum will upgrade to eth 2.0 so in my opinion this news will make investors buy ethereum again
Buy the news and sell the fact. The Ehtereum 2.0 will not bring the same market effect as you expected. The speculators will squeeze the weak hands, market will price the news before it happens, from my experience.
I still believe bitcoin will have impact on ethereum price. Staking, Defi and hardfork could help to gain price also but ethereum price boost is likely to have general effect on ERC20 token, so the whole altcoin space will need it. Ethereum will need to defend some of the scam allegations, it is affecting some of the maximalist trust in the governance. Unfortunately, XRP, the 2nd position arch-rival had struggled to stay close in the competition.

I want to remain optimistic and I am expecting a x10 of the current price.
is it too much? I think not, if ETH will grow x10, it is still below its ATH but it could already again gain back the confidence of some investors who gave for this long bear market.

Indeed. Good market conditions also affects the entire movements of this coin. After we see positive run and good barrier it will soon be followed by a much stronger run. ETH can catch up and make investors happy when the price shows very strong bull movements. It's up to the person to entrust their assessment. It's too bad for those who panic when they bought at peak and experience a long bear run, but I guess we already are at dip now, so it's time for ETH to start rising.

I expect $2,000-$2,500 for ETH in 2020, because markets work in cycles and the next bull run has already started. also, I think Ethereum 2.0 progress, and the new Ethereum applications and Bitcoin halvening will have a huge impact. Last rally of bitcoin from low of $180 to $19,500 was almost 100x gain. applying 100x gain from bottom of $3200 gets you to $320,000. ETH historically trades at 0.025-0.15 BTC, which provides a range of $8,000-$48,000. I would say $8,500 is about what would could expect in 2021. thereby $2,000 is a realistic value for next year.@Darooghe, the Ethereum2.0 and the bitcoin halving will create a bomb surge in price of Ethereum market but no one can actually know the exact price ETH market will claim for next year market. However, bitcoin and other crypto new ATH cannot be mathematically calculated for the level of market supply with demand are what will tell what the new ATH will be but i believe BTC and ETH will surge above $40,000 and $1500 respectively next year.

Ethereum 2.0 is scheduled in 3 jan 2020. and it is end of 2019, so 3 days leftbut, until now, there is no any movement in ethereum price.
I have doubt the news can make price higher. bcz the news usually makes effect before its day.

I dont see that altcoins were dependent on ETH. Probably the entire crypto price was tied up on Bitcoin price and altcoins are moving the same on Bitcoin fluctuation. My answer to this is "Unpredictable", yes, you heard it right. It is unpredictable and no one knows what will happen the price. If I were you, dont look up the price chart daily because it makes us frustrated. I predict that the ethereum will reach its ath again or even higher not because that it is upgraded and whatnot but bitcoin halving will put a lot of pressure down to make it rise. I think 2020 will give us some good good time with the whole market.

This is what I hope in Eth that price will increase next year. Since the market for eth has down for long now. So hopefully by year 2020 more surprise awaits in this coin.

I don't think altcoin price is dependent on Ethereum anymore! Ethereum is suffering to maintain a good price throughout the year, but yet it failed to keep a reasonable price! The highest price of Ethereum this year was lower than 350$ if I am not wrong! As it's price movements depend on Bitcoin, so, I believe in 2020, Bitcoin and Ethereum both coin's price will be better compared to 2018 & 2019!

I have never worried if eth prices will fall because eth is an altcoin that has the second largest capitalization in coinmarketcap at this time, so, most likely will experience price increases again when market conditions begin to experience price stability again, especially if there is a bull run bitcoin of course a little will not push eth prices up slowly. So for those of us who holds eth as an investment asset, there is no need to worry too much if current eth prices are falling in price.Jump to:
