The ethereum 2.0 update is been called serenity which can solve the scalability of the coin. Serenity is a major shift to a markedly advanced platform packed with foundational improvements to power the future of the most prominent programmable public blockchain. This major update will also boost the price of the ethereum once it is implemented in the late 2019 or early 2020. I think this ethereum update is poise for more testing before it is implemented.
In this matter, the development team is not in a hurry. I think before spring 2019 this will not happen. On the one hand, it’s very bad that everything was so delayed and there was no understanding in the terms, on the other hand, the project is all at stake now and if a non-quality and the innovative product comes out, the project will end.
Well, it will happen some time in the future.

Hi guys, I have heard a lot about next Ethereum update 2.0 that brings so many good features to Ethereum platform (POS, shardering..)
But my answer is when we can expect this update? I cant find any exact date. Do you know more informations about that?

I don't know about this news, so maybe this is behind the tragedy of the fall of ether prices in addition to the fall in the price of bitcoin, because we know ether falls first if we compare with others. Yes, the update is very important and I'm sure if this update occurs, the ether value will be stronger and much better.

Somewhere in 2019-2020, i suppose. Ethereum 2.0 is colossal project and dev team want to be sure, that all works as it should be.

I think not before the end of the year. Vitalik said maybe at the beginning of 2019, but nobody knows for sure and I hope there won't be any technical difficulties and they would be able to launch the update on time.

It was schedules to happen this year but due to some issues it was postponed until next year, so the ethereum 2.0 will happen next year and the exact date for it is not yet communicated the last time i checked.
We cannot predict on when that happen maybe in this end of year the etherium will update to 2.0, But for now the etherium was in dip situation and we cant predict on when be recover again. And we hope so in this month of december the etherium will be have some big news.
Ethereum 2.0 will surely make its price skyrocketed to four digits. As the developers say, these upgrades will speed up ethereum. Based on these, ethereum becomes a good investment for long term. The roadmap shows a span of two years to complete the upgrades.
As I know the upgrades will be done in phases starting from mid 2019 and finishing in 2020-2021.
