This thread shows how much can change in 18 months. Back when the OP started this thread, ETH was at its peak, and looked like it would never drop back below $1,000 again... and now today we are in the mid-$200s, and $2,000 looks impossibly far away.
I would say though that I think ETH will be very likely to hit $2,000 in the future, just not the near future.

Based on the current realities of the cryptocurrency market, the growth of Ethereum by $ 2,000 is an achievable goal. Everything will depend on Bitcoin, if BTC grows, it will pull Ethereum along. Without Bitcoin, no matter how hard Ether tries, it cannot grow.

Unfortunately this was not happened. The price of Eth jumped into the bottom not to long when the price has already reached $1.300. And i think from now on it will be slowly increase about eth price to becamo one of the greatest price its ever had.
I also think for 2k $ for Ethereum we will need bitcoin to grow a way more than last time and also to have a bull run for altcoins because without bull run will take a lot of time to have so high price.
2k is too passionate, i won't expect it.

I do not see any reason to believe that it can fall dramatically in value. Most likely Bitcoin will continue to grow in price. 2k in two months? Maybe after 2 years, this year ethereum will hit again $1000 so it needs one more year to reach that $2000 price. But still anything can happen no one can predict , lets just wait and see.

this type of development will only came in the time of bull Run so if we want to achieve the target like reaching to get dollars in very quick time then the Bull market will definitely helpful especially the ethereum has huge expectation from the people so it is definitely possible now

in two months maybe the increase in ethereum prices will touch $ 500- $ 700 and it's realistic, I can't be optimistic that the price of ethereum reaches above $ 2k, there are still lots of processes. even my predictions are not far from 300 to 500 USD this month.

I just think if you want to achieve the value like developing 2K dollars in very quick time then the Bull market is really important to turn the value to the different kind but right now the market is also stable and steady so the development this little low than 
our expectation 
From then to now, Ethereum needs to go through a long time to hits 2K USD! Though in January 2018, it seems just a matter of time, as we have seen Ethereum at 1500 USD! And now, after a massive bear market, Ethereum can't reach even 300 USD! So, ETH at 2K USD won't be possible within 2 years I think!

That's is right we need to accept the reality do not expect over price increase impossible to reach I believe the capability of ethereum but yes 2k is difficult to hit even bitcoin goes hit 20k. 300$ to 500$ is enough profits we can get if ethereum possible to hit that price.
