The comparison of the value of etherum and bitcoin is very far, the price of one BTC is $ 45,975 and one Etherum is $ 3,152 (15 August 2021, 16:53:00). Etherum is far behind BTC, although Etherum’s current popularity is great, unfortunately Etherum still can’t be the first in the market. what do you think?

I think ethereum can compete with bitcoin but not on price because bitcoin is much more expensive than ethereum, maybe the current price of ethereum and bitcoin is 1:15.. however ethereum can compete with bitcoin by volume and market cap. if we look at coinmarketcap the comparison between ethereum and bitcoin is not much different. both are in top 1 and top 2 on coinmarketcap.

maybe if ethereum have same supply with bitcoin , king of cryptocurrency will be ethereum. From supply and smart contract feature enough for ethereum to replace bitcoin . so far bitcoin be top coin due its technology in ledger which is be pioneer in this market.
If the king was decided by the size of it, elephants would be called the kings not Lions. Even if ethereum crosses and gains more price than bitcoin I will still consider bitcoin as the real king of crypto because nothing can deny the popularity and sentiments that come with bitcoins are superior to ethereum.
I guess there is a fine line in there somewhere, yes I would say that even if ethereum passes bitcoin and if it is a little difference then I would say that I wouldn't really change anything about it. However, when we are talking about bitcoin one day going down to a whole new level like it is not even in the top 100 because something shocking and horrible happened? And meanwhile ethereum became the new first one because of it?

In that case even if ethereum falls down, like ethereum becomes 50 bucks but bitcoin becomes 2 dollars? Then I would not say bitcoin is the king. Obviously we all know it will not happen like that, only case for that would be someone finally figuring out how to hack any wallet they want and if anyone could have, they would have already so I think it is quite impossible, but that doesn't change the fact that bitcoin one day could have a big technical problem that drops it, I would consider king only in that case.

Ethereum and bitcoin as of now are two parallel line, and they don't have some thing in common to comapare, And bitcoin will continue to lead because its a price determinant to other coin, its grows geometric rate. So to me the growth of bitcoin is farther from other crypto coin and its not coming down sooner or later self.
Exactly and there is no reason to argue which one is better. I hate these debates about who is better and who is inferior. There are people all over the internet fighting about who is better; Messi or Ronaldo? It doesn't make sense to always crown one guy on the top and make the other one inferior. Just let both the blockchains exist in parallel worlds.

I don't think I have ever for once thought that Bitcoin have a rival or competitor, it is just a supreme coin which highly controls the market, so for a coin which such power and control, which other coin can be its rival, additionally, Ethereum on the other hand has never presented itself as a rival to Bitcoin, to the best of my knowledge, the team are only working on making their blockchain more scalable.
Yes, I don't think for once that Ethereum will be the first in the entire crypto market, in fact a lot of projects have tried to offer more speed or TPS thinking it will make them better, but I can't remember of any of them which is still active. In my opinion, project team should stop looking for rivals or claiming to be other projects killers, their main aim should be to work out something unique and applicable that will keep them always valuable in the sight of their investors.

It is impossible for eth to exceed btc. Both are the mainstream cryptocurrencies. The current price of ETH will not exceed BTC, and the total market value will not. If ETH wants to exceed BTC, it will be a big volatility that will subvert history. It is unlikely to happen, almost impossible.

In my opinion, nothing is impossible in crypto itself, because we don't know for the long term how the development of eth itself will be, when the price of bitcoin is very expensive and maybe people will feel unable to buy bitcoin and the closest solution is eth and maybe at that point. this eth will be more and more popular and the price will continue to increase, and this is my personal opinion

so in order to become a rival both coin must have the same or thier value must be close to each other ? i guess no but i think it can also be based on other criteria like thier usefulness .
eth has more purpose than in bitcoin so eth can be better than in bitcoin but that was only my opinion and i know that others can disagree with that . even if eth is not the first , it can still be the first in the altcoin category .

Yup Ethereum cannot be compare to Bitcoin because of their use cases. But right now, I’m more bullish on Ethereum due to its use cases and the recent London hard fork. Bitcoin is still the king of all cryptocurrencies because of it’s popularity and a gateway to be converted to fiat or withdrawn to banks, remittances, etc.

Ethereum can’t replace Bitcoin. They’re totally different from each other.
I think Ethereum might be a rival to Bitcoin in terms of popularity and market price but there is never a doubt that Bitcoin will be always costlier and more valuable than Ethereum. The price of 1 ETH will never outshine that of 1 BTC.

And to things into perspective, Ethereum was inspired by Bitcoin so there is no way we can compare the two. Building an entire technology is one thing while improving the existing technology is other.

The market cap might be more for ETH in the future given that so many projects are built on it and it definitely has more use cases than BTC.

Yes, i very much agree with you. 1 ETH cannot surpass 1 BTC, but ETH might have a chance, a big chance to grow up more.  I would say that in 2-3 years from now ETH price will go up as high as 5k or 10k. Let's hope my prediction for the future is coming true  Grin

If it is in terms of price, ETH will never surpass btc, and no other coin can shake the position of Bitcoin. Bitcoin is now the first in market value and recognized as a digital gold, but now Bitcoin's potential for growth has become smaller.

Its natural for this two to be compare as we know this two coins dominated the market with its value. I think they have un similar interm of price value, bitcoin is have higher value than ethereum. But we dont relay on that because this two coin have different development and have its own popularity in the marketplace that can be more useable on its own way.

Competition is something that you cant really remove into a certain market and come to think that all of altcoins in the market is inspired on what bitcoin had able to achieved and rivalry would always be there.

The reason on why they cant really overtake bitcoin is that never ever could ever beat up the origin of crypto even though its a bit outdated compared to other newest coins in the market but doesnt mean

that it would really replace bitcoin into the top. Rivalry is something cant be avoided and there would always be those people who would really be having this kind of mindset.

You don't compare prices instead, you look at market cap and supply. Bitcoin has a limited supply compared to Ethereum; they are rivals, of course, the first spot is always threatened by the one sitting in the second spot, and the second spot always threatens to take over the first spot. However, they are not rivals in my opinion; they complement each other in some way, and their success is tied to each other.

of course ethereum will never be able to beat bitcoin because so far ethereum has too much supply so that it makes ethereum difficult to compete with bitcoin which has a limited supply and has very much support from investors.

ethereum does not compete with bitcoin, from price movements it is clear that bitcoin is incomparable to other alcoins, bitcoin price movements or declines have an impact on other alcoins, for example when bitcoin prices rise, alcoin prices also rise and vice versa, so I conclude there is no alcoin that able to compete with bitcoin including ethereum coins.

Bitcoin is more popular then etherium but they are both useful and very important now a days.

The price of BTC is very high compare to etherium and the are having a good price as of the moment.

Etherium is not a rival of BTC because they are not the same.

If technical comparison, ETH is very good and promising but they do not have the only independent characteristics of [anonymizing] the founder.  It's very difficult to make an impact.  The capitalization of bitcoin is accounting for 45% - 60% of the total market capitalization, even though ETH has a 2.0 upgrade, it completely does not change the characteristic view of the market.

To compete with Bitcoin is rather difficult because Bitcoin was the first coin to come out before any other altcoin, and again bitcoin has achieved unforgettable success in the cryptocurrency market, even investors who invest in bitcoin are extraordinary, so I don't think Ethereum can compete with Bitcoin.
