I was skeptic reading this for the first time but now I start to believe that even in 5 years

We have achieved a lot in ten years and there's a big possibility that the landscape will be very different from what we are seeing right now, ten years from now there will be major big players, I don't rule out the possibility of Ethereum overtaking Bitcoin but what if another technology will emerge that is far better than Bitcoin and Ethereum, the technology is still young and so many things are still going to happen.

I recently made a post of this nature, using 6 degrees and LinkedIn to Facebook comparison...
where I said that 6 degrees was the first social media platform built on the internet.... then LinkedIn and MySpace but 5 years later Facebook comes in and kicks all the others around....
I do know cryptocurrency and social media are two different things.... but it would be worth noting they have a very common factor, "human users".
one moment everyone could be dying to watch a movie on TV then boom now we have Netflix on our phones....
we are just arguing for ourselves... forgetting that the next generation won't see things through our own lenses

don't dream mate !, Ethereum does have a chance to replace Bitcoin, but what we have to remember is that Bitcoin will not be replaced.

i am a quite surprised about this crazy topic is appear , btc has being store of value , bitcoin is limited ,more than 98% will be mined by 2030 , only 2 % left of bitcoin until last block on 2140 will be mined , hunger whales grayscale has been buying a big amount of bitcoin every week or even day, to control 10% of supply by Next Halving in 2024 , all of that its fact, and u still dare say ethereum will surpass bitcoin ?

but, my personal opinion about this is ethereum need more than 1 decade's to surpass the marketcap of bitcoin
Or it will never happen as when ethereum gets increase and bitcoin too. I doubt that will happen dude. bitcoin will always be pumped before the whales will try to move into ethereum and then pump it. but, my personal opinion about this is ethereum need more than 1 decade's to surpass the marketcap of bitcoin
This scheme will be last forever and there's no chance for ethereum to surpass bitcoin even in the next decades.
I also will do agree with you there is no chance for any coin to do this even ETH is 2nd most strong coin after BTC. Only few people understand the potential of BTC and how strong it could be in future. I believe ETH will remain as an altcoin and this would never happen in this century.

If you look at the growth and the development of the eth so far, it is likely that in the next ten years ETH will equal the value of BTC, but we need to know that ETH is getting more and more in the number so ETH prices will never be as high as BTC, because more and more circulating on the market, the more stable the exchange rate is, it's different from BTC created in a limited amount, the more demand the higher the selling price ....

If ethereum could hold its price while having their total supply uncapped I think it's possible considering there's also quite the amount of bitcoin loss overtime due to sending to wrong address though the chance might be slim if BTC also increase on its value caused by scarcity of it.
But, many circulating supply for ETH could also become biggest obstacle that holds the price for growing or the market cap from increasing. It's just everything could happen in crypto market.
But, maybe even if btc market cap got surpassed by ETH bitcoin still the icon of cryptocurrency no matter what.

my prediction, it will not happen...
I don't see any chance for Ethereum to outperform Bitcoin. In 10 years the number of ethereum will be more than it is now and that makes it difficult for eth to grow to outperform Bitcoin.

I think the group are doing as such to continue to win however not to challenge Bitcoin at all. Ethereum will probably drive Web3 to the following level. Regardless of whether BTC or ETH will be utilized for standard installments is yet to be resolved. The possibilities for the advancement of bitcoin are obscure. Hence, the above figures with respect to the capitalization of Ethereum to the degree of Bitcoin capitalization are not without rationale.

Really, I don't ever remember that happening. They did talk about it during the Flippening hype era but it simply never happened, not even for a second (unless I missed out).
ETH has a virtually unlimited supply though, you do know that right? So BTC has a cap, it will rely only on price.

nothing is impossible in the world of crypto everything can happen Moreover, we can see Ethereum's growth continuing to increase and prices are back up nicely, I still believe that what can compete with the establishment of bitcoin is Ethereum for the future

many predict ethereum in the future will replace bitcoin but in my opinion it is not fully possible because ethereum price movements are quite very slow

i dont think btc will lose 1st place on market long term. maybe after 25 years when new technologies and new cbs-dc enter market then btc can lose its 1st place.
