Getting to the top ranks or spot wouldnt really be an easy challenge for those projects out there and theyre trying their best when it comes to showing some progress and updates towards their project.

There's no assurance to be on the peak because the better the coin/project the more demand it has then its expected that it will surpass into those coins whose above it.Its a matter of time that

we might be seeing some changes and ETH is really hard to believe that can be easily beaten with other top tech.For me, it will take sometime or wont ever come for such chances.

1 decade is indeed a long time and a lot of space for something to improve and lets see on what area they will tend to progress on.

It would never happen BTC has no competitor in this field rest of the coins are altcoins including ETH too. Maybe OP don't understand the fundamental which make BTC superior and make it valuable. ETH is born to remain at altcoin because it has a lot of competitor and at the moment suffering with high gas and some critical bugs which could take few years to get fixed.

I did jot agree with your statement that eth marketcap will surpass btc marketcap. Both has different usage and Btc will be the number one forever. About high fees ? Btc will be traded for rich people only and it will be done OTC. It will be store of value like gold now.

Decentralized projects, it could be dapps, it could be defi, it could be anything and price will always worth a lot because it is used like crazy right now, and there is still a lot of attention and with the surge of defi and the idea of eth 2.0 right now is a perfect time to be an ethereum holder, people made x5 returns in a year thanks to that. However in 10 years we could have something that does everything eth does and does it quicker and cheaper and does more as well, that could really danger ethereums place in rankings.

What if Ethereum is abandoned in the next 10 years? If you look at today there are many Dapps platforms that are better and cheaper than Ethereum. Scalability issues on ethereum are a big concern and let's not forget the high costs. what if ETH 2.0 still can't solve it. won't everyone be looking for a new, better platform?
forget about the rising market cap, it's all still dream-like speculation. but ethereum's competitors are there today and ready to challenge ethereum. If Ethereum can't do the best, I think it's hard to stay in the ranks of the best altcoins.

So it's a long way off to think that Ethereum will beat the market capacity of bitcoin in 10 years. because there are still a lot of problems on ethereum.

It is simple, ETH will always be in the 2nd rank in cryptocurrency while Bitcoin still dominating in the market in all aspects. We don't want to push ourselves thinking that it happens because, in the first place, both of them are created unique. And there is no way that ETH will compete with BTC in the market.

If you look at the development of Bitcoin in the past 11 years, it seems unlikely that Ethereum can surpass the Bitcoin market cap
in the next 10 years. Because Bitcoin has always dominated the market for 11 years, and Ethereum has always been below Bitcoin
all this time. So there is very little chance that Ethereum will perform better than Bitcoin, so we have to think realistically about this.
We do have to admit that Bitcoin is too strong for Ethereum.

Op just shared what he wanted to visualize in the future, and as the technology get more advanced there's always changes in this temporary world. Me also agree that bitcoin is always on the top of all coins right now, but don't treat that as forever. There could possibilities that in the future 10 years, bigger changes will uphold unexpectedly.

No it's not that simple and there are many stages to consider before this happens.

Nothing is impossible to happen but the first problem that ethereum must face is the chance of This rank 2 coins will be replaced by other coins like Tron,XRp or other coins who's threat to his position.

and 10 years a very long years for something could happen in Crypto world.

We can see bitcoin falling or even Gaining over those years.

There was a time when everyone thought that the price of ETH will surpass bitcoin before the last rally in 2016 but then bitcoin just move higher leaving behind every other coin and now i am surprised to see that some are thinking that ETH might surpass the market cap of bitcoin in the next 10 years which is highly unlikely.

The possibility is you should assume that bitcoin would go down in valuation in the next ten years and that is impossible to imagine at this stage.

I guess it will be harder than we imagine, although we have seen ethereum developer are trying to improve and make an update in their system which can make many people like ethereum. Like as of now, they are trying to update the system to make the transsction is more fast since we have seen the ETH transaction get a problem when the DeFi system is booming, but sooner ETH can fix it and run normally.

But in fact we have to see another factor, although the altcoin has a good fundamental and can push the price to the moon it can't happen if bitcoin price is down in market. Like there are some bad informations come to bitcoin and give an affect the investor sell their bitcoin, this thing will happen to altcoin as well. I never see there is an altcoin who has a good market, I mean its price increasing when bitcoin price is decreasing.

Could be true, I do not see why not. 10 years is a long long time to happen but this assumes Bitcoin also remains the way it is and ETH also continues to be the #1 smart contract and Dapp chain.

Looking at the way things are now, that is probably how the world in crypto will look like,,, but 10 years is huge in tech.
