The hardfork that will happen at this time is different from the hardfork which happened to other altcoins as happened earlier in BCH. Where when hardfork is finish then there will be a new altcoin come out, but this time that come to pass on ETH will not produce a new altcoin. Hardfork ETH only updates the system, like you update Instagram or wallet on your smartphone, and I'm not sure any investor will be interested in this considering the cryptocurrency market is still in the bearish market.

ETH is gradually increasing in the past few days and this will get better in the future. I still believe ETH is worth investing in this time than Bitcoin. yes, it is difficult for us to know for sure, whether the price of Ethereum will continue to rise and pump at a higher price, or maybe the price will come back down at a lower price, and until now there have been no signs that the crypto market will pump at even higher prices, of course this does make some investors and traders still reluctant to re-invest and trade again.

I'd go more with bitcoin than ethereum. Take note that I'm an ethereum holder but the biggest portion is on bitcoin. I'd always believe the potential of bitcoin and though ethereum is very interesting and moving up too, if the comparison is between two I'd go for bitcoin.
Bitcoin is the best coin out of the two by far, but if you were to ask me which one of those coins will give you the best profits during the next months I will say that ethereum has a good chance of giving you more profits, the ethereum upgrade that will happen will reduce the block reward of ethereum, it will be something similar to the bitcoin halving, and the last time that happened in bitcoin we saw a slow and steady increase in the price after a few months of that event.I'd go more with bitcoin than ethereum.
