PS: IMO Ethereum team has exhausted expensive ways of building their infrastructure as a whole and not going for money saving opportunity and now they're cash-strapped.

According to th eEtheruem Foundation, at the current Ethereum price, it should survive for three more years.

We don't really know who to contact regarding this subject but we are open to collaborate and we are offering to host Ethereum discussion on our forum TheAltcoinBoard.com for free. Ethereum already has a dedicated Board at our forum, from the very begining and we are ready to expand it or modify to suit the needs of Ethereum community.

I think it is not the responsibility for the Etheruem Foundation to run a forum. That is similar to BitcoinTalk.

Nearly 50 posts in this thread...
And 100% of them agree the guys who created $670,000,000 in market cap... have no clue about their ecosystem.

Well, the Ethereum Forum always sucked... and was a typical Alt Ghetto.

When you have Google News with 43,000 NEWS STORIES about Ethereum...
And endless corporate blogs writing about ETH trading and coding...
Plus 200-300 people on Reddit at any given time...

And 200 major projects in the pipeline...

http://dapps.ethercasts.com/

It's called "going mainstream"... something Bitcoin has barely managed to do after 7 years.

What you see on http://dapps.ethercasts.com/ is a collection of websites that pretend to be "decentralized applications". Nothing more. In many cases, if one of those listed websites goes down, the associated app can't be used anymore because the interface is hosted in a single place.

I really don't understand why you need ethereum to build something like this http://ethstick.com/, when you can build it in 2-3 hours using php+mysql+Bitcoin or any other crypto as a payment method.

Right now, "decentralized apps" running over ethereum are a growing collection of centralized websites while dapps.ethercasts.com is a directory of links.

Sooner or later, after the hype slows down, the regular users will start to ask questions, and the first one will be "Wy do i need Ethereum ?".

WHY would any of the outside world pay attention to Ethereum ?

Do you deny there was a manipulative large scale paid marketing campaign launched here and elsewhere ?
Do you disagree the was no artificial price increase created by a pump that lured in users to profit off of ?

So hmmm why again were people talking about it ?

Doge coin ring a bell ?
How did that turn out ?
That $55,000 Nascar paint job do any good ?

Either A:
You ETH supporters are dishonest
Or,
B: You are dumb and don't see what is going on.

I know this will play out exactly as i predicted (it already has)
I also don't care about convincing idiots who are intent on losing their money.
Suffer idiots.. your greedy antics are toxic & cancerous to crypto.

But i do have a problem with people willingly spreading false information on Crypto coins.
And many of you are quick to do this when it gets "loud"
Then when it quiets down you start to play dumb as though you were not scammin'
Proof ?
No problem..
Head over to Polonibox and search ETH + Microsoft or even IBM
Tell me what you see.

Case closed.. i am right you are scammers pushing a scam coin.
The coin has proven to be fraudulent in 2014.
Since then it has simply been reinforced.

The ETH DAPPS gimmick Pyramid scheme IPO scam coin system is criminal and fraudulent.
And i hope i see the people involved with it do jail time.
Lets start with an insider trading investigation to get the ball rolling.

ps.. That is some serious cash they are burning through..

That is serious cash they are burning. It's a bit like what went on in the dot com era when start-up capital was burned through extravagantly and then they all crashed and burned when the money ran out. I wonder if the real cost of the forum was the 13000 EUR listed  for "IT hosting" etc - in other words they are paying over the odds for someone to manage the forum.

The last I heard they were planning on burning a lot more: https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/45bhus/so_the_ethereum_foundation_can_now_fund_itself/czwpr04

Also, their finances sure don't seem to be very well documented. The main source of information here seems to be occasional blog posts or reddit comments by Vitalik.

That is actually pretty crazy how do you mismanage that much money.
300$ a month is noting all they had to do was make a post about it and they could raise 10 times that in a hour.

It's clear that they have another reason for closing the forums. But why do they lie ?

And if they lie then why choosing the most stupid and retard reason that nobody believes ?

Exactly it makes absolutely no sense to close it down, especially if users themselves offered to fund it. Something is happening apparently, we will see where it takes us.

if they do it, is because they have something really bad to hide, i hope that this have nothing to do with users or i will lost all my faith on them, not to mention that his altcoin will suffer a lot... lets see whats happen but things looks pretty bad...

BTC to the moon is inevitable...
Some comments:

1) If the reason(s) for shutting down the forums to save $300/month is truly negative, then we would have seen some (heavy?) insider ETH dumping, possibly crashing the price.

even the newbiest traders know not to dump all at once. and that is the thing happening here. the slow and small dump over time on each top until it is over.

That sounds like the start of the end for Ethereum. When you can't even manage to keep an forum online. Let me guess big salary for the creators and now is there own wallet empty.

I agree, Ethereum has run its course and now i almost time for it unfold. Until it come up with something milestone worthy

ETH doesn't have mass user base as Bitcoin for sure.
I am sure bitcoin talk cost more, but there are many donators.
