well,This is a continuation of the story of the Eth 2.0.
since my last topic about gotcha moment of ETH, the story continued with "no plan for how or when to migrate tokens and smart contracts onto Eth 2, according to ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin, James Prestwich and other leading community members"

This is something that seems be rushed, lack of strategy and that is not denied by Devcon attendees.
As Prestwich explained, the first phase of Eth 2 – called Phase 0 – is coming this winter:“Ether moved to the Phase 0 chain will be converted to a new token. These tokens can’t be moved on-chain. At least six months after launch, a hard fork will add transfers. Until then, users are locked in.”
but There’s no clear plan for how to migrate hundreds of ethereum-based tokens and smart contracts, including DeFi projects, to the new chain in the foreseeable future.

well, based on the perspective of Buterin who said Eth 1 was a successful experiment that paved the way for Eth 2. i just think even it hard, they will solved it,although they now have problem with startegy, coordination, etc.

any thought,friends ?

Whooh! i though the ETH 2.0 upgrade is just a better version of the normal eth? why new blockchain? this is a dangerous move because many businesses are already built around the ETH first blockchain, this move can drag Ethereum down

No worries bro because many of the people here doesn't know the the consequences we have while we changing the new blockchain infrastructure. Then whenever you face the price drop can you hold the interior means it need to be changed with price also in old chart.

I think that they will run completely a new blockchain solution and people will be able to claim their coins on Ethereum 2.0 via some smart contract. And also all Dapps will be compatible with the new blockchain, or it will be easy to migrate there. There shouldn´t be any problem and the process must be very easy to maintain loyalty to the community.

migrating from eth old to ETH 2.0, I think this is good too. the question is who will do this?
the owner of the ERC20 token or the ethereum developer himself who will do it?

i guess, the team of ethereum it self.

if the token owner has to migrate manually, maybe we will see many shit tokens that will disappear because they have been abandoned by the owner. but I doubt we like that.

or perhaps , the dev will leaving the smart contract which never make transaction. its more better i guess.

talk about updates later, what about our current wallet? can we use it after ethereum 2.0?

i just have speculation , wallet will be upgrade automatically after it ,
oh come on , dont be affraid, its still a long time.

I think if they launched such a system which is in second place after bitcoin, and the second version will run without difficulty. there are always problems with the development of something new, I think everything will be solved soon

Still difficulty for ethereum back to higher price although below bitcoin place, just worried with eth still down after failed with many ICOs project, before IEO success on exchange makret, ethereum become payment platform for ICO and raise price of ETH, after ICO failed ETH look down and never get back to higher price, now we are waiting when eth come back to higher price again.

Even though it will be hard for Ethereum to be back at higher price, but still this will be on top coins as it has true value, I can say that Eth is a good way to have a good holdings apart from Bitcoin as they are almost stable and cannot dump that easily, if it dumps, it will still recover unlike other coins, where it is hard to recover.

They have big ambitions based on ETH 2.0. However they have to solve lots of things prior to launching ETH 2.0. Most important concern for traders is how they are going to list it? Is this going to be ETH 2?

well, possibly it's still same like now.
they just upgrade the blockchain, then moving all to the new, so i just think nothing change about how condition on market.

I think that with the transition of Ethereum 2.0, Hard Forks will be created that preserve the old network of Ethereum.
But even if this does not happen, I'm sure that the developers will be able to carry out a painless transfer of coins from the old system to the new one.
Even if this entails the problems of projects already created on the basis of Ethereum, this is the way that ether must go.
The cryptocurrency of today does not meet all the standards and quality that it should. The ether must move on.

well, everything is still unclear, even Ethereum’s Istanbul launch is set for October 16, 2019 , but until now, it hasn't been done at all.

The confusing part about the launch of ETH 2.0 is what happens to tokens already built on the current ETHEREUM blockchain.  Do we have to swap ERC20 tokens for example or does the upgrade not affect it? These are some questions Ethereum foundation team needs to clarify.  So there is no definite date for ETH 2.0 launch right, we have no option than to keep waiting. I hope the switch to POS Worth it.

nothing happens, all or ERC20 still running on eth 2.0 after exists. (it based from info i get on many many article.)
on my opinion, actually, the most important on eth 2.0 its not about POS,but the sharding system , make more better for the scalability.

wait, ... does that mean we're going to migrate from eth 1 to eth 2.0?
posibly yes,
so after the ethereum update will be in phase 0, where in that phase there will be a transfer of all tokens to the new network?

actually no correct info about it,
i continue searching but i cant find in what phase will all be migrated, since they still no idea about it,of course it will be more confused.

then what will happen to the old eth? will it be ignored?
I'm confused is this migration needed?

according to mauric statement "No one really knows what Eth 1 will look like once Eth 2 exists,"
well, i guess its needed, since they a creator of this project, and they have a plan to upgrade their blockchain.

A testing period maybe but I still have the confidence on ETH that they can solve this problem and I’m sure they have a better plans after all. This update will make the price of ETH good, it will not hurt the price and investors will also see a good potential with ETH.

they will not step into a new phase if they are not ready for what might possibly happen to their system and their community.
definitely they have been doing risk analysis behind doors, addressing possible situations that may arise for every possible scenario.
i have confidence that eth team can pull it off. with the resources they already have, they can move mountains in case something goes skewed along the way

No one knows when Ethereum 2.0 is going to be activated. there were so many attempts made by the Ethereum developers in the past to upgrade the Ethereum core but all end up in failure one after another. Though, there are small updates to the core but not strong enough to support the Ethereum 2.0 upgrade.

I can't bet against Ethereum team because we have seen that the community behind the project is very strong but with what I am seeing the team seems to be over riding their luck, they ware able to overcome the DAO fiasco but the sentiment in the space is getting stronger that Ethereum is now too centralized and if decentralization is still a desirable features people are still looking for then ethereum might not gain traction again

This is big. If ETH 2.0 will not be able to build on ETH 1's tokens and contracts then that would be a big blow to the coin. Many people have already built businesses and services which are dependent on ETH's current blockchain.

I suspect and worry that if ETH 2.0 becomes a new coin then it could be the result of Ethereum's downfall. Many people will be disappointed and just move on to a new platform.

can you explain me about this
did you mean if ETH 2.0 not an evolution of ethereum my friend ?
just like a fork of ethereum with better features and more
because your words about if "ETH.20 becomes a new coin"

but i still believe ETH 2.0 is just an expansion from the real ethereum, wich mean still the same coin  Wink

no no no, that not right, its not like that
it's like you move from your old house, bring all your old stuff to new house with a larger scale.
ETH 2.0 will moving all from ETH 1.0 both smart contract and ether it self to new blockchain.
of course this process is different from the previous process with leaving ETH 0 as a ETC.
although that is the process that was forced to be carried out as an action from the DAO hacking.
Ethereum will still keep ethereum 1.0 blockchain alive and that's the answer, for those who will be interesting to use ethereum 2.0 and they just need to migrate from ethereum 1.0 to the 2.0.
There will be a separate chain between ethereum 1.0 and 2.0
It's not about when you are getting a new house and you must move all of your old stuff to the new house. if you are having a lot of money and just need to keep your old stuff in your old house and try to buy new stuff for your new house.

well, as i see on ethhub.io .
"There are two important factors to consider when it comes to migrating from the Eth 1.0 chain to the Eth 2.0 chain. First, we have the need to migrate existing ether over and secondly, we have to transition the state of the chain over."
The definition of migration is to move from one place to another without leaving anything from the beginning.
“Existing applications will keep running with no change. All account balances, contract code and contract storage (this includes ERC20 balances, active CDPs, etc etc) will carry over.”
so there is no choice to choose to stay on eth 1.0 or move to eth 2.0
but , that based from my assumption.

This is confusing to me and even discouraging to say the least. These guys should learn strategy planning and stop washing their linen in public. We are not expecting a perfect coin and leaders who are always right but I think what we are talking here are very basics in application of technology and managing the platform. I am always allergic to that "no plan" statement no matter if one will be defending that it is just a matter of telling the truth...

This statement is not something that the market needs. The market needs definite answers and not those above which can make us wonder...what can really be next here? Maybe they should go back to the board room and come up with a statement telling us the general plans while supplying us some details on what will be and when will be.

well, based on the perspective of Buterin who said Eth 1 was a successful experiment that paved the way for Eth 2. i just think even it hard, they will solved it,although they now have problem with startegy, coordination, etc. any thought, friends ?

I am a strong believer in Ethereum and the leadership of Vitalik Buterin and his minions so I am just waiting for any good development/s that can be coming soon. In my view, Ethereum is something that can be a big waste if stalled and not allowed to grow again. Posted at the number two spot, there are more rooms to grow and many potential to realize. Let's go, Ethereum 2.0!
