As far as i know there will not be a new eth coin so everything will remain like it is at the moment, Eth 2.0 indicates the upgrades and improvements that will be implemented in current Eth network especially to resolve scalability and security issues and change of algorithm from pow to pos is going to be another massive development, there too much positive news and events coming for eth that makes it the hottest investment right now and i think people who will not accumulate eth now will regret later in few months time.

I agree with you . Now holding ETH is a very good option in investing because ETH 2.0 is about to be launched and will definitely greatly improve the technology. Currently, the trend of ETH investment is increasing every day and that will help the coin to reach $200 this month . I have been waiting for this event for a long time and hope everything will be fine until that time.

It is expected that there will be issues on the transition from eth 1 to eth 2 chain but the lack of clear plan is not reassuring at all. Hopefully we see more clarity on that towards the end of the year. I hate to see a project as huge as ethereum to fail.

From where I sit…there is no room for worry. As Buterin explained he has envisaged that  ETH 1 chain will remain stable and act as a feeder for ETH 2 to provide full ETH1-->ETH2  transition at some point.

This is big. If ETH 2.0 will not be able to build on ETH 1's tokens and contracts then that would be a big blow to the coin. Many people have already built businesses and services which are dependent on ETH's current blockchain.

I suspect and worry that if ETH 2.0 becomes a new coin then it could be the result of Ethereum's downfall. Many people will be disappointed and just move on to a new platform.

can you explain me about this
did you mean if ETH 2.0 not an evolution of ethereum my friend ?
just like a fork of ethereum with better features and more
because your words about if "ETH.20 becomes a new coin"

but i still believe ETH 2.0 is just an expansion from the real ethereum, wich mean still the same coin  Wink

no no no, that not right, its not like that
it's like you move from your old house, bring all your old stuff to new house with a larger scale.
ETH 2.0 will moving all from ETH 1.0 both smart contract and ether it self to new blockchain.
of course this process is different from the previous process with leaving ETH 0 as a ETC.
although that is the process that was forced to be carried out as an action from the DAO hacking.
Ethereum will still keep ethereum 1.0 blockchain alive and that's the answer, for those who will be interesting to use ethereum 2.0 and they just need to migrate from ethereum 1.0 to the 2.0.
There will be a separate chain between ethereum 1.0 and 2.0
It's not about when you are getting a new house and you must move all of your old stuff to the new house. if you are having a lot of money and just need to keep your old stuff in your old house and try to buy new stuff for your new house.

Well, there's one thing that is certain. Ethereum 2.0 is coming later, rather than sooner.

Practically every major feature release has been delayed into infinity... Sharding, PoS, zk-Snarks etc.

I think that other smart contracting platforms have a real chance to get there first if the big brains behind Ethereum don't step up their efforts.

EOS is definitely looking like a viable alternative, though I don't like the 21 block producer arrangement.

As soon as I understood from everything that Buterin said the other day when Ethereum 2.0 is started, Ethereum 1 will live also. The transition will take 6 or even fewer hours, but the whole project will start working (for 100% power) not earlier than in 2 years; so we will have to wait for the greatest ETH changes for a bit more than we guessed. Taking this stuff into the account, it might happen that Ether's growth might be slower a bit.

There are too many unknown points for Etherium miners and users today. Substantive fears about dAps, who will be supporting the old eth1 chain and will anybody do that at all ? It may happen like with the BTC in 2017, when the “clone” Bitcoin Cash appeared. Probably we may expect technical wars between the old miners and supporters of PoS ... Big obscurity in this Istanbul update as for me.

so, what u want to say its if ETH 2.0 release , there still will be eth 1.0 ?
same when eth 1.0 created , there still will be eth 0 as a ETC ?
if so, then your words are very confusing, according to vitalik statement, all of smart contract and ether will be moved to new blockchain (eth2.0)
so the point , there no more eth 1.0.

It is their project, so what do you expect if they don’t believe in their own project, then who will?
I am patiently waiting for the Ethereum 2.0 also, let me see what the effect  the upgrade will do and I think upgrading the platform is not the only thing that needs to be looked into, because when it comes to chain system, we have lots of alternatives now and I think that the major thing that is giving Ethereum a bad name and why their project died is because of very awful projects that are coming through them, which is what I think needs to be taken care of first and has to do with their policy.

IEO is dominating now, because investors can rely on someone protecting them and helping them filter bad projects from the good ones, and this, Ethereum does not do.

The  True Is when its come project like a lot of patient  is need because  right now there  a lot of competition in the  crypto space. i think Vitalik and his guys  will come out with something great  no matter  the set  back. Until they  give up them self i still believe  in Ethereum 2.0 and look forward to see that  live..

I think if they launched such a system which is in second place after bitcoin, and the second version will run without difficulty. there are always problems with the development of something new, I think everything will be solved soon

they are trying so hard to save their failing project and every day the bloat on the blockchain becomes bigger and makes it more centralized as people can no longer even run a full node. the worst part is that there is no solution to solve something that has been broken before.
in my opinion, right now they are delaying any kind of upgrade because they want to benefit from its hype and pump their token hard. but if they do it now, since ethereum is still in dumping mode, their attempts at hyping and pumping in that order will fail miserably and that is their last shot.

so , what u want to say , ETH 2.0 its the final choice ?
i will understand it,considering they , basically no ,let's say "serious" plan to starting that project.
that looks reasonable enough , but, about pump dump hype , that's not something dev should consider,i guess.

well,This is a continuation of the story of the Eth 2.0.
since my last topic about gotcha moment of ETH, the story continued with "no plan for how or when to migrate tokens and smart contracts onto Eth 2, according to ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin, James Prestwich and other leading community members"

This is something that seems be rushed, lack of strategy and that is not denied by Devcon attendees.
As Prestwich explained, the first phase of Eth 2 – called Phase 0 – is coming this winter:“Ether moved to the Phase 0 chain will be converted to a new token. These tokens can’t be moved on-chain. At least six months after launch, a hard fork will add transfers. Until then, users are locked in.”
but There’s no clear plan for how to migrate hundreds of ethereum-based tokens and smart contracts, including DeFi projects, to the new chain in the foreseeable future.

well, based on the perspective of Buterin who said Eth 1 was a successful experiment that paved the way for Eth 2. i just think even it hard, they will solved it,although they now have problem with startegy, coordination, etc.

any thought,friends ?
